The Diary Of Jane is basically about a girl who died from suicide, and his boyfriend saw her diary and the guy found out in that diary that the girl is cheating and the boyfriend is not even written in the diary.
The production is so good on this. If you didn't know it's the same producer (David Bendeth) as The Warning- Error album and some Paramore album(s). David only works with talented artists, if his names on it it's gonna be great.
Breaking Benjamin is still active... the band is essentially Ben Burnley (vocals/ guitar) and the members have changed since this music video from 2006 (Their 3rd album 'Phobia') and was a huge hit in America ... 'Breath' ...was another huge single from this record. Burnley had health issues in 2010 and disbanded Breaking Benjamin... He reformed the band w/ new members and released the album 'Dark before dawn' in 2015... followed by 'Embers' in 2018. Breaking Benjamin actively toured in 2022/ '23 and are working on a new album.
Just saw them Sunday in Anaheim California with Staind & Daughtry. They were good, but Ben’s vocals were a little drowned out by the band. On the other hand Aaron Lewis of Staind vocals blew me away, and I was there for Breaking Benjamin. Aaron sings all these different vocal styles effortlessly. At least he makes it look easy, including the fry vocals (deep screams).
The way I interpret it is the girl is dead from suicide or overdose. She wakes up in the tub and is running around through the house until she comes to the room full of mirrors only to see she has no reflection. She's dead, and you can't reflect what isn't there. He's paging through her diary, trying to find what he meant to her or some sort of answer. It's eating him up inside. However, there is nothing there, so eventually, he closes the diary and moves on with life. I think Ben stated in an interview he got the inspiration for the song from watching an episode of cold case files, and there was this Jane Doe that washed up on a bank. No one knew who she was or anything about her and the life that she lived.
Blow Me Away and this song pretty much got me into the band. One day i decided to hear their discography and i ended up liking all of their songs, it's because of them i started loving metal and hardcore music and because of them i started to check albums of other bands. They are the greatest gateway band, and i will never stop listening to them.
BB is hard because the music is so good, his voice is so good, and the videos have some cryptic stuff to figure out too. It's hard to pay attention to it all. Basically, most ppl interpret it as: Ben is looking through Jane's diary and not finding himself at all, meaning he wasn't even important enough to her to have a place in her diary. She's running through the house wondering where all her mirrors are, she eventually finds that they've all been hidden in that room, likely by her, because she doesn't have a reflection (she's died) but keeps forgetting it and isn't reminded until she sees the mirrors. So she hides them from herself. She's died, and Ben is looking through her diary, realizing he wasn't as important to her as she was to him. So he has "no place" in the "diary of Jane".
Huge fan of this band, have been since high school. I highly recommend "Dear Agony"(both the original version and the re-recorded version feat. Lacy Sturm), their cover of the Goo Goo Dolls "Iris" feat. Diamante, "Ashes of Eden", "When Angels Fall", and "Give Me a Sign". And yes they're still active, they're actually on tour at the moment.
The girl woke up in the bathroom, she walks around the house but can not find any mirrors, then she finds a room where all the mirrors are stored, for some reason they were hidden from her, the girl does not see her reflection in these mirrors, for some reason no one pays attention to this when watching the videoclip.
Just react the covered of Diary of Jean by Missioned Souls,a family band in the Philippines. There ages from 10-15,you will amazed. And also covered of " Hysteria " from muse.
This iconic song 10/10
It’s so cool seeing a new generation find the music that formed us back in the 2000s

This song was my childhood. Absolutely iconic in the rock/metal scene
They do a great acoustic version of this song as well.
