Peter McKinnon Here's a question what do you think about Affinity photo it's supposed to be the Photoshop alternative. I have heard a lot of good things about it and wondered if you have heard of it and what you think of it.
Peter you have changed the game, I’m a sports photographer and you’ve made me realise I need to start thinking out of the box, thought I could be clever enough to get away with photoshop elements and I’ve done so for years, just upgraded to lightroom cc and I’m loving it so much, thanks a lot, owe you big time
Peter, I respect the way you sell products on your page. You didn't just advertise Squarespace, you showed how to use it for a successful web site. You aren't just shilling your filters, you are demonstrating their value and supporting people who buy them by giving an instructional tutorial. You're definitely doing things the right way. Keep it up!
I've gotten hundreds of dollars worth of value from your channel, so $20 is a no brainer and I'm sure I'll get a ton of use out of these presets regardless! Thanks so much and keep up the great content!
I bought them before watching the video and edited about 25 pictures with them... I don't regret this decision one bit. Thank you, Peter. Amazing set of presets.
Hi Peter, just got your LUTS and preset, they are awesome! As a new photographer your presets have showed me more editing options just by looking at the setting you use for each look. This has helped me in creating my own style and for that, thank you!
A lot of youtubers are releasing LUTS at the moment, but what makes Peter different is he actually explains how to use them and the value for money that you get is unreal ! Its nice to know not everyone is just trying to "cash in" and there are still people who are genuinely wanting to help people, like Peter ! (Also the LUTS are amazing !) Thank You !!!!
Peters and Chris hau have the best presets I’ve used so far. He’s right when he says that sometimes presets are able to make a photo look a lot better with only one click but I’d also encourage you guys to tweak almost every photo you use them on. Each photo is different so treat them that way. Presets however are a fantastic base.
Keaton Ward some countries the exchange rate is to low so for them it's too high of a price next time they should see the main countries that buy the product and try to make the price even
I don't know about "literally millions", but yes, there are abundant free presets out there. Most of them are only "similar" to Peter's in the sense that they are created using similar tools provided by Lightroom. The look of the ones I saw is not similar at all. Peter's presets look great. Yes, like most, I would prefer to get them for free, but if the choice is between paying $20 for 15 high quality, original looking, well presented and explained presets vs. downloading hundreds or thousands of presents and then combing through them looking for usable ones, I may opt for the $20 option. If you can provide a link to presets that are genuinely similar in quality to Peter's, he may not appreciate it, and may even kick both of us off, but at least you will have proven your point. I am more than willing to check them out.
Just picked these up and super grateful. They saved several photos that my newb self didn't capture as well as I thought. Peace and respect photo-yoda!
Just unpacked my new Canon EOS90D (newbie) took 4 photos of one of our drivers, bought your presets and now everyone thinks I am a pro !! haha best $20 i have spent in a while ! Thanks for all the content ! if you are ever in the UK and want to shoot a tyre yard let me know :)
Just started following you consistently the last month - you are such a positive influence. I appreciate you explaining in depth about presets and how to use them. This was very inspiring - I’ll be purchasing your presets tonight!
The thing I don't like about using other people's presets is that you're not letting yourself explore your own creativity in editing. It's like missing out a huge chunk of learning. Yes it might make your photos look much better but you won't know all the technical aspects of what makes it look good and you won't have the creative knowledge to know what would make it even better because you've not tried experimenting yourself. Presets are very useful for time management so they're not overall bad. The best thing to do is make your own presets, developing your own personal style not 'copy and pasting' someone else's.
I agree. I’ve just begun and learning how to frequency separate, and how to manipulate all the different features of Lightroom and photoshop has taken a lot of time. But, it’s been fun learning and creating. However, I’m thinking if I do get the presets I know they will just be a base for manipulating each picture even more according to my own creative style.
I have to say also, even if you are using a preset, you can always see deeper how the preset adjust your picture, and then, with this deeper view, you can try to adjust your next pictures with some new rules you liked from presest without using any presets and make your own style.
Nah, I would recommend using these three highly professional steps to make the pictures pop perfectly: 1. + 100 % contrast 2. + 100 % saturation 3. + 100 % clarity And to make it even better, you can save the pictures as JPEGs and repeat this process an infinite amount of times, for perfect quality.
This is my first comment for your videos( even I couldn't believe it, bc Ive been into your videos since months ago). I really love watching your videos! Even though Im not learning it sometimes, your passion and humor always make me happy and enjoy watching it. Thanks for sharing everytime!
I've never learned so much about fixing my goofy looking photos in one place at one time so easily. I already purchased this pack before I've finished the video and I plan to pick up more stuff. Thanks mate
love the pack, however i will say when it comes to ppl of color it always needs to be tweaked. but for landscapes and lighter skin tones makes editing sometimes effortless!
Thank you so much for this Preset pack it is wonderful-- I work with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, as a volunteer- working with hundreds of pictures to make them all look better-- you made my job so much faster and more beautiful for these families who have lost their children- -- thank you again ....
Peter, you are truly the most inspiring photographer in the world and I fricken love you! Love your videos, content and instagram! I can't thank you enough.
Great presets! They help me "understand" some settings more plus helps me process some more dull family photo's. Keep the vid's coming! Much love from Belgium!
I've never used Lightroom, I only do video and never take pictures, and I STILL watched this video through to the end. How are you this good at making RUclips videos? I use Teal and Orange and Kodak Killer the most, but are you planning on doing another LUTS pack? I'd be all over it if you did.
CAn't seem to be able to use the presets on Lightroom CC or Classic. The presets just don't show up when I click on PMCkinnon folder on Lightroom. Anyone else have this trouble?
for Lightroom CC: Open LR, select the EDIT tab (Top right under the cloud icon), then select LIGHT. When the LIGHT tab is opened, select the PRESET tab (On the very bottom right hand) that will open up the default presets. Select the three dots (...) on top of the GRAIN preset, then select IMPORT PRESETS. That will open the browse folder, select the Peter Mckinnon LUT folder you have downloaded.. Hope that helps!
In the last 1 1/2 weeks I looked a lot of your videos. Im so impressed and inspired by that. I just wanna thank you for this! Keep up your amazing work. Best wishes from Germany
Awesome presets. i have always loved photography, but have struggled to make my photos look great in post. if i didn't get it in camera i would just have to live with it. these presets, luts and your tutorials have definitely taken my photos to the next level. Thanks!!
Peter thank you very much. I just buy it and love it. You are a big inspiration and even if I am a beginner in photography with your videos I am learning a lot. And plus I am a big coffee lover, let`s say addict, and here in Europe we drink a lot of Chemex, V60, aeropress and all these types of filter brewing coffee. So if you are in Prague some day, let me know, I will give you some tips for really nice cafes. xxx
I would like to say mahalo nui loa for making these presets! I am just a "beginner" level hobby photographer and trying to get my photos to my liking and these presets made that happen. I am grateful!
THANK YOU so much for sharing this. I made a big mistake when I first start using Lightroom... I added a lot presets that I could find...now I realize that I keep using the same styles. I need to make some time to get rid of a lot of them. This looks really good.... I know what I will buy first with my next salary :)
Thanks im such a newbie I never understood anything whatsoever and your video definitely helped and explained the little basics things. I had a headache and feel a bit relief ...I had no clue what a preset was lol .thanks
My new favorite youtube channel! I was thinking if I should get Lightroom but after watching this I downloaded it right away and bought your preset pack. 👍
These presets are great! I am new to photography and these along with other photographer's presets have help shrink the learning curve of Lightroom. Thank you for allow another avid fan and pupil to use them. Amazing value!!!
Peter - I bought your LUTS!!! I actually meant to only buy the Lightroom ones as I NEVER use Premier - but buying the Premier Luts was my mistake - so enjoy the donation! I am a new subscriber to your channel and man have you encouraged me to get back out there with my DSLR and start shooting away again!! Thank your for the fire, drive and encouragement - keep up the good work and get ready for your notifications to boom with all my likes - Signing off for now from Australia!
Man, thank you so much for all of your content, I just bought your presets not only for my improvement but also to help you to keep on working on it. Thank you so much. I've been watching of your videos.
Been working more than usual and havnt had time for photos but I'll pick up your presets, you deserve the support and you deserve the upcoming 1 mil subs as well ;)
literally cannot wait to get my new mac, buy lightroom and buy these presets!!! they are gorgeous!!! i've learned more from you than from 4 years in design school!
Purchased them ! Can't wait to play with them !! Please keep them coming and will continue supporting 🙂👊🏼 I actually did fist pumped the screen with you 😂
I purchased these not only because I will use them at some point for sure... But more so because I am investing in Peter. I give more in hopes to get more out of his videos. Keep up the great work sir.

One day I am going to but right now...after a year of shooting and attempting my edits I have no idea how to get all the elements together to get a look I really want. Peter McKinnon wooooh dang straight butter man so good now going to beg my mom for twenty bucks wish me luck
You're the perfect guy for this job... Hope to be as much perfect as you!
You're a CHAMPION!!!
Peter McKinnon Here's a question what do you think about Affinity photo it's supposed to be the Photoshop alternative. I have heard a lot of good things about it and wondered if you have heard of it and what you think of it.
Been using yours for some time along with Alex Ruskman's and have been having absolutely fantastic results. They're just gorgeous.

The price is actually awesome! Think about how many times we can use these presets in a lifetime. The return on investment is excellent!
Yep, too true.
Keaton Ward some countries the exchange rate is to low so for them it's too high of a price next time they should see the main countries that buy the product and try to make the price even
there are literally milions of presets online for free similat to his.
sure there are but we wanna support him and keep the awesome videos coming. It's about support.

Peter, you are truly the most inspiring photographer in the world and I fricken love you! Love your videos, content and instagram! I can't thank you enough.

I Downloaded Lightroom Just because of this VIDEO!
Muhamad Bukhari Are you use these presets?
Is it Adobe's Light room from playstore?
Bought these a few days ago and am more than from. Love the variety you got going! Thanks Pete.
you're far from impressed? meaning you did not enjoy the pack and were less than impressed?
Ah my mistake. These presets are awesome. Incorrectly typed.
Awesome presets. i have always loved photography, but have struggled to make my photos look great in post. if i didn't get it in camera i would just have to live with it. these presets, luts and your tutorials have definitely taken my photos to the next level. Thanks!!
Who actually buys these? Just make your own, it's so simple!
Peter thank you very much. I just buy it and love it. You are a big inspiration and even if I am a beginner in photography with your videos I am learning a lot. Are these presets still compatible in 2019? I am wanting to purchase ASAP
THANK YOU so much for sharing this. I made a big mistake when I first start using Lightroom... I added a lot presets that I could find...now I realize that I keep using the same styles. I need to make some time to get rid of a lot of them. This looks really good.... I know what I will buy first with my next salary :)
Does this video need an update? Lightroom will only load these presets when imported, where it converts them to XMP format.
Gold. I'm new to Lightroom and this is gold. Also, loved the explanations, energy and humour in the video. Thanks Pete! (I can call you Pete, right?).
Thanks im such a newbie I never understood anything whatsoever and your video definitely helped and explained the little basics things. I had a headache and feel a bit relief ...I had no clue what a preset was lol .thanks

Peter, those are great presets! Very tastefullooking. I in purposely got out of bed at 2 am and went to my shop to download and try them.
Happy 5M Peter!
i want to get this, but i'm from europe. we have euros. i dont think i can get this :///
You can still buy it?? It just uses an exchange rate.
Most online reads your location service so it will automatically change to any currencies on what country you are living in. It will for sure change to Euro.
i did.. They're basically the same as the presets in instagram... not really that useful
except for red crush, they are very much the same as instagram presets.
Its useful for me :) best $20 spent in 2018
bought them. simply amazing for me as a beginner to have these 1 click amazing transforms
Presets are a farce... Create your own style...
Maybe good for lazy-boys and non-creatives!
I agree you should make your own. I think seeing how someone else got certain effects and went about it could help you with creating your own, however.
Buying these presets is a good start, learn and see how different presets works and tweak around with the settings. Go from there and make your own. Its not easy to just create your own style. Learn from the best and go from there

And I love creating my own presets and experimenting with it... Coz this is the most fun part of editing... The experimentation and exploration and becoming a learner and student once again 😍
Thanks for the presets. Haven't used Lr very much, but can't wait to play around with the presets.

Just got mine! Cannot wait to use them
20$.. :
ĆwieQ Official as a photographer, wouldn't you want people paying for your work? It's the same principal.
I thought it was a lot when I heard it, but googled lightroom presets and I see them selling for way more than $20.
