How did I just now learn that Ty & That Guy have new episodes? I’m a HUGE fan of The Expanse! The fact this podcast is still going gives me hope more Expanse is coming!
Thanks for spending the time to talk about VR stuff and the game!! Also that story with Harrison is not only true but I got to shake his hand which made me think- holy crap I shook Indiana Jones' hand!
Good luck with your game, Chris! And thanks for all the cool Expanse behind the scenes videos you've posted over on your channel. Absolutely love seeing that stuff.
Good luck with the game. Btw. I hope they can bring you to the show too. I like your content and I am sure they have much to talk about it (and to promote the game).
Hey Chris, meeting Harrison on the Zihuatanejo beach was a highlight for me as well. After working with Harrison years earlier he still remembered us and treated us kindly and with great respect! You and Harrison are rock stars!!
Guys, I think you should bring Chris to the show too. He has some amazing The Expanse relating content on his channel that should be showed to wider audience (to all 8 of them 😁) and has interesting stories to talk about.
That is so often true that necessity is the Mother of Invention. Following this podcast gave me the sense that the Expanse Team was the Little Engine That Could. Yes budgets do matter but production costs in Canada are typically lower than in US but also the teams may be more ambitious, not that there are no "ambitious" teams in US , I'm sure there are. This podcast has highlighted many people in its 90 episodes and many of those were behind the camera. I still think however that the interview with Cara Gee was the absolute best.
Really twists my melon that (at least on RUclips) the audience seems so criminally low re:this podcast. I LOVE the Expanse. BUT I also LOVE the insights, nods and walkthroughs this channel offers. You two are genuine. It “jumps out the page” if you will. Grateful for your persistence guy (s). Nice one.
Let's put the word out and get more Expanse fans to tune in and watch! Sometimes the behind the scenes drama is greater then the on screen drama! LOL!🤗
At this point I couldn't choose my favourite TATG show. Every time I think you guys have done the best interview, there's an episode like this: fascinating and highly entertaining, not to mention educational. I had no idea what a line manager does. Manny was a great guest.
As usual a brilliant job of explaining who does what in video production. The talent that was built in Toronto, starting way back with Cronenberg's first films (you guys remember Scanners and Videodrome) and Quest for Fire has blossomed into different things, including The Expanse. Thank you Toronto and mostly thank you Canada for establishing early on the tax credits for film production that kick started the industry. Yes CBC were always there but in those days they were not focused on outside production.
Hey Charles, very insightful observation. You nailed it. We now have become the destination to entertain TV SERIES and Features with a Syfy theme. All levels of Government need to support the film and TV Industry. We know we can we just need to show that we will!
Absolutely phenomenal episode! This is the kind of "inside baseball" I just love to learn about the show from the various people of have worked on it. Keep up the great work and I look forward to more interviews from the people who made the show.
Now I'm remembering my excitement and joy when I found the podcast here on RUclips, and binging episodes until I was caught up. Now, with all this background information, I'm rewatching the series and enjoying it even more.
A lovely secondary benefit of this show is learning about less known job roles in tv and film. It must be difficult to balance the realities of budget against the vision for the show, and that surely takes a lot of skill and experience
@@mannydanelon Incredible work Manny, thank you for the Expanse. One of the most unique shows out there. You were so lucky being part of it. - A nobody from Hungary.
I love the Indigo parallel description on Steam : "Be prepared, this game is weird." Anyway, bought it. Download in progress. (ask if you want a follow up)
@@simonemason2281 Well, it's an indi exploration/puzzle game with a strong scifi/horror vibe. The main gameplay loop feels like Stanley parable but the style is widely different. The game has a psychedelic art style and enjoys making you revisit places looking for a change. There are very short combat moment that feel like mini games within the game. The level of detail of the mapping and the textures is a bit low and retrogaming for Unity but is in line with what you can expect from a single dev, long production indi game. The content lasts for at least an hour and a half, which is very much OK for me. Overall, the game achieves very well it's goal of offering a confusing psychedelic exotic experience and I had a lot of fun.

We hope as well!!!🤸♂️😉
Manny is the sweetest guy, with one of the most stressful jobs in Hollywood, and handles it with love and humor. I love him!

Hey Ty and Wes - bring Chris on the show. I 2nd that motion!!!👍
I can't believe Star Trek Discovery had double the Budget of the Expanse, because honestly the Expanse looked 4x better than Discovery.

4:14 still watching….the remnants of the worlds best sci fi series ever
Manny is so articulate and explains things so well! Another great episode 👏!
Wow....thank you Vickie!!! The Expanse was such a great experience that I will never forget the bits and bites that made it happen!!!
What an insight. Thanks for bringing in Manny to share it.
I have plenty more to share!!🤸♂️

Manny is THE MAN!
I try to raise the bar on every show...and I am good with this challenge!!!🤜🤛👍
Missed the live show, but we need more episodes like this. Learning a lot about production roles.
I don't know why you guy's don't have a million subs by now!
We have always done it the hard way...one fan at a time!!! Hehehe!
I love this show. This was a great episode!
Way to go on another great episode Ty and 'Poor Man's Nick Nolte'!
Missed it live but great to see you all again.
"Joustice" should definitely be a word. It is a perfect shorthand for what is going on in Ridley Scott's "The Last Duel", for example.

Thank you David for the shout out! There are plenty more stories in the grab bag! 😉
This is super cool! It's rare to have producers interviewed on YT, it's even more rare that they go deep into the nitty-gritty details.
Thank you Tsuki for this comment! It was an honor and a pleasure to share my experiences from The Expanse journey!!🤸♂️

Just a great EP and a great guy!

You will learn and hear about production challenges behind the camera. Not all drama is in front of the camera. LOL
