Really inspiring words for me to hear man for real! I love to hear your opinions and Love even more to know that what i post is what you guys love! I try hard and I’m not always 100% satisfied but I’m glad y’all are!
I saw a comment on this video 2 month ago recommending me to submit my track to Xposic Spotify Promotion for consideration on their Spotify playlists. I said that I would come back to reveal my findings on this but can't see the comment anymore, so leaving it as a new comment. I went with a $65 listing which got me 20000 streams for my single.
Thanks for putting this video together and for the info. I am a dance music producer with an upcoming dance track release and want to learn more about their copy/advertising services. I'd be curious to learn more about their other marketing campaign features. Also, I'd be interested in learning about cover song and how DITTO handles them.
Ditto is not a marketing company. They are a distribution company so they don’t advertise anything. Also, any distribution will not allow you to upload cover songs unless you have strict proven permission you’re allowed to upload it. Otherwise your song is going to get rejected.
Thanks for the info, you are a natural teacher, patient and the like. I can’t tell you how many folks I asked how to do this, their answers always began with a sigh then some Mumbo Jumbo then ended with, ahh Google it. Thanx again for the real world answers , Also, I dig your music. Best.
People are lazy and don’t like To go into detail or explain. I’m the complete opposite. I often talk TOO much lol. So these videos are really easy for me to film. much harder for me to edit down to not be an hour long hahah. Glad to help
Dudes like you are the real MVPs. You remember how it is and how it was to be the dude trying to come up. Keep reaching back for us bro cause I promise we don't forget who helped us get up!
Yea man I’ve used Tunecore in the past and this is a game changer... $19 a year for unlimited music? Pffff... and tunecore it’ll cost you $20 a year to have ONLY 2 songs on... there really isn’t a debate man. Plus they have their own Spotify playlist that you can work on being added to which = more is exposure and more fans. Also that $40 chart feature and the $40 4 hour distribution is CLUTCH.
Every feature ditto has except chart breaker. And they have automatic splits for when you work with other artists/producers and they want their streaming pay.
This video was really helpful! I was reading about Ditto Music, & was not sure about it, but after watching this video, my decision has been made easy, thanks to you :D ! Keep up the good work & I am definitely subscribing to your channel. Keep rocking
What were you reading? Reviews? Some people write some really random stuff with no evidence to back their claims or it’s an issue they’re causing themselves. Ditto has been really good to me. So it’s nice to see other people give them a chance. :) I’m glad I could help!
IAMLXGEND Thank you for the response... I was looking at their website & reading a few reviews here & there. But yours gave a great understanding to the whole process, as I'm just about to release my EP & Single out to the digital world. Take care mate :D

just a quick question. will ditto music create the artist channel for us if it's our first time? if so, why does our single was posted on a different artist? We just started to release our songs so we're just asking. thanks!!
Hey, great video! I just recently discovered Ditto and I wanna drop something on there. I have a couple questions. Thank you in advance! I confide in you my brotha🤝 1. Why is it that in my account if I were for instance to “custom select for stores” I can’t choose Apple Music alone? But it will let me select iTunes and when I press iTunes it will automatically select (iTunes, shazam and Apple Music as a group). And it does the same for a couple more stores. How can I fix this? 2. If I upload my track without an album cover because I chose to upload it later, will I be able to go back and add an album cover to the song even after it’s been released or after the order is placed but before the release date? Ex: Will the album cover update and show up on all the stores I decided to stream to? 3. Will Ditto be creating accounts for me for every store I selected to release the song on? Will I be able to access those accounts if it actually does? 4. How can I promote my music for cheaper than the $459 they charge to promote your music? Or does the $30 chart thing do that job? Or does putting in a lot of stores make is more promotional? 5. You suggested to select ALL the stores to release to. If someone clicks on my ditto link are they going to see that whole full list of stores to chose to listen from? Since it’s like a ton🤷🏽♀️ 6. If I leased a beat from someone should I add the copy of the beat lease in the copyright section so I don’t get copyrighted or something? Do I need to add my copyrighted lyrics also? Or does it only need the “prod. By blah blah blah thingy” next to the song title? I just don’t want the song to be taken down or anything. Sorry for all the questions but Thank you so much.
Hey man i have one question, at the moment im in one platform that distribute my music but they dont do it the social midia campaign like Ditto does. Lets just say i unsign with them and then i go with Ditto so what happen to my music on previous platform? I have to put new songs in Ditto? How they get or use my songs already posted in spotify, deezer etc etc.? Looks like is not just one question... Can you help me?
Hi! Thank you so much for this video. I have a question tho... Scanned through the comments, but couldn't find no one with the same one: So, my only song on Spotify today was uploaded from a friend, who owns a record label - meaning he's uploaded it from his label Ditto account, and the profile was created. I want to become independent, so my question is: if I create my own Ditto account, upload a new song under the same artist name profile, will the earnings of that be separated from my friend's upload? In other words, he would only have permission to manage the song he uploaded himself, right? The ones I upload will only be managed by me in my account? Or should I ask him to remove my profile from his label account first? Thank you!
Great video bro I just signed up for ditto music to upload my song and I got charged that 79 dollars charge now I wanted to know if that’s just a one charge fees or do you get charged that 70 dollars every time you upload a song to ditto music
I've been following and watching you for a while now and learned a lot step by step, was doing songs using an ipad but I feel it is still enough. planning to upgrade into an imac or macbook someday but I feel I need to first make music still and buy those after earning and I got to this topic. It helps me a lot about the process though now I am comfuse between ditto and distrokid? What would you recommend for starters anyways?
I've been watching your very much helpfull video, just a question if I've got a song 1 radio mix comercial with 3 club mixers of that radio mix song,an one of the club mixers has coe produced one of my club mixers,if I'm useing ditto to place my song on the platforms is this classed as one song,so if I put the 4 tracks on ditto do I pay separately for my radio mix an the 3 club mixers.or do I pay separately for each mix, also can I put the coe producers name on their with the same fee as one artist or is the coe producer classed as a separate artist
Extremely helpful! btw, what if I'm in a band with 3 members? should I choose "Create Label acc" or is it fine with "1 Artist" and I'll be able to include my 2 other members in the band? Thank you!!!
Its not a problem at all. I'm here for the people and I just wanna do my best to help everyone improve and stay inspired. Thank you for sticking around to watch and sub and leave comments.
Appreciate this bro. im lil bit confused, what about using it as a trial? i wanna try this one but how many days it would take to publish my song for example in a trial mode?
Hey if your still using ditto how is it going for you ? Do you like their services ? do you recommend it to others ? Do they pay out royalties because I heard they don’t pay out ? Can you do split payments like distrokid with just the artists email address? How is their customer service & do they deliver videos to RUclips ? Sorry to ask so much questions it’s just I really want to use these guys but they are not popular & I hear lots of bad reviews so it’s kind of a risk for me.
Everything about ditto is stated in this video already. All of these questions are answered within the video. The making of this video is a recommendation. Ditto pays like everybody else. You just need to cross a threshold to get paid. The majority of people complaining probably have less than $1 worth of money to get paid to them. They don’t pay that. And even if they did, it takes 3 months to receive royalties for any distributor. That’s not their fault, that’s the steaming service. No split payments. Customer service is fine. Yes as shown in the video they distribute to RUclips via VEVO and if RUclips is a selectable streaming service. You’ll see bad reviews about every distributor in the world and how they’re scamming thousands of dollars from customers. If everyone was scamming everyone, nobody would be distributing music. People just like to complain.
How are you man? I have a few questions... I’m not from USA (I’m from Argentina) and I was wondering if do you know if ditto works for people outside USA. Also I would like to know if Ditto gives you the copyright of the song you upload, or you have to get them previously. I didn’t fully understand what are those National and Worldwide Charts. Thanks so much for the help! Bless you!
No distribution service provides copyright information or tools for your upload. That’s something you have to do yourself. The national and worldwide charts are the charts for music... #1 song on billboard top 100. #1 song on hip hop charts... things like this. The same charts normal artists have their song on. Yes, Ditto works outside of the US because they aren’t based in the US. They are from the UK. So they have to work outside the US lol
@@IAMLXGEND so if you don't pay for the worldwide chart, you won't appear in any top (assuming you get there)... I'm I right?? Thanks so much for your help!!!!
I’m not “on their payroll” lol. It was just a partnered video I did for a service I’m already using and believe in. It really is good for the reasons I stated in the video. They have features nobody else has and you’re only paying once ($19 a year) for unlimited releases. Vs Tunecore (who I’ve used previously) it’s $10-20 for ONE RELEASE per year. If you put out 20 singles you’d be paying $19 a year still with Ditto. If you put out 20 singles with Tunecore you’d be paying $200-400 a year just to keep those releases up lol. For less features. Charting alone makes it worth it for me but also the option for same day release is TOP NOTCH and NO ONE else is doing that. I never make any video about any product or service unless I use it myself or if i believe in it. I’ll have to check back on how often you get paid because I have reached that threshold since migrating my music over here from tunecore
I was watching a video similar to this one and they said that one of the distrubution centers takes down all your music and you lose ALL your analytics if you miss a payment with them. I was thinking about using DistroKid what do you guys think?
What do you mean “distribution centers”? As far as I know, once you distribute something through Ditto it stays up forever but I could be wrong. I’m trying to look into it now but services like Tunecore do the same thing. If you don’t pay them the annual fee per track, they’ll take down your releases. So if this is the case then it’s normal. Which I why I recommend you don’t invest in distributing unless you’re ready to shoulder that cost for sure. I’ve never used Distrokid. Just Ditto and Tunecore. Also about to look into another called Amuse which has an interesting discover feature to sign artists... video coming soon.
Distro kid allows you to keep all of your royalties, create a group of people whom get a percentage you’ve established (like a split sheet) and post everywhere tunecore does. For only $20/ year. That’s what turned me onto them. But UNFORTUNATELY I am not ready to distribute yet!!! I feel TERRIBLE but I still need to purchase my leases/ exclusives. I do give credit where it’s due. But I am terrified to distribute and end up in a lawsuit. For money I already do not have or even fame I’m still learning to maintain. I wish I could make my own beats as well as you do. ... but if that cray stuff I just said DOES happen... I’m still legendary for life. IAMLXGEND
DistroKid. There’s news about every distribution company not being faithful. I had no problems with DITTO. I don’t use them anymore because DistroKid had better features for me.
Hey, I am Lxgend how are you? Thank you for another informative video that helps up & coming artists, musicians, singers, songwriters like me. I was wondering two things though (1) can an artist have 2 pros or no and (2) can an artist distribute with more than one distributor to take advantage of some services one may have with one as oppose to another?
You may be able to have 2 PROs but you can not register a song with more than one so I don’t really see the benefit of having more than one. And yes you can distribute whatever you want with whoever you want. But distributing the same song or album as something previously released must be disclosed when you distribute.
I leased a beat and have rights to monetize a certain amount of copies but i do not own rights to the beat so im technically not the copyright holder? Will my track be denied by ditto if i dont put the producer name as the copyright holder?
Ditto doesn’t know who the producer is unless you tell them so no, they won’t deny it. But your producer can have it taken down if he’s worried about the numbers not being reported. Just depends entirely on the agreement you and he have. But generally you do not own the copyright to a leased beat.
Yo got a question im going to sign up to ditto just wondering im already a artist on Spotify with a different distribution just wondering when I sign up im going to do the £19/year Release unlimited music for 1 artist if I do that I can release what ever music I want and can I out my Spotify artist page on ditto and it will go to my spotify page
It should put it on your Spotify page or have a place for you to verify which artist you are. I don’t work for ditto I’m just contracted to make videos for their videos so you’re better suited to ask them this question question directly.
I just became member with 19 dls artist option and uploaded a song, it’s coming out September 6, but do I have to send the music to diffrent streams my self? or they do that? bc I saw a comment that said that you have to Uploaded yourself to stream networks like Spotify? Thanks! nice video
If I am the only artist but want to include payment to my producer as well, do I have to register as 2 artists are does it give you an option to pay out to more than one account?
There is a section where we can follow up with sales, it’s called analytics. I don’t understand why the graph shows only for Spotify, but what about the other stores? supposed they promote the music in several stores but it’s only showing Spotify
Thanks! I am still waiting to get published in Pandora it’s 3 weeks already, but I was also going to ask you about Spotify sales, it’s showing we’re doing an average of 4 sales per day in Spotify, are they talking of streams? or that’s diffrent, thanks again!
i sent a ticket (ticket means like a question stuff to answered by them) to ditto and i ask this question why some stores are locked...they said that its not really...for example apple music is under itunes and tidal is under aspiro...hope this helps..
when using another producers beat, with permission of course, how would you set that up? would you have to manage 2 artists account? or could you put yourself as the artist with a simple (prod. ~~~~) in the title?
That depends on what the producers want. If they want their name in the title they’d ask for it and you put it. If not, you’d just enter their name as a writer or composer. You don’t have to manage 2 artist accounts.
You can but you won’t be able to credit them as an artist on the song unless you do in the title of the song. The artist section will only feature one name.
Every distributor does the same: when you distribute to your artist profile, if you’re not already an artist on there it automatically creates an account for you. Once you add more music with that same service it will distribute to that same artist account. You can then go claim & customize the account yourself by downloading Spotify for Artists app or doing it on the website and downloading the Apple Music for artists app as well.
How long does it take to start streaming showing? in the page says that it can take up to three months? also do they pay for music downloaded from RUclips? thanks
I can but it’s not gonna be very detailed. I don’t consider myself a master of mixing, for me it’s just turning stuff up and down until it sounds right lol.
So if i get a feature from 2 artists would i have to get the record label option or how does that work. Theres only a one and 2 artist option for independent artists and i want to work with other artists so im trying to understand... ?
1. The label option from what I understand is for managing multiple artists releases not for splitting royalties on a single song. As I understand it, only your account will be sent the money for streaming royalties. You will have to be the one to distribute the percentages of such to the particular parties. Unless you sign up for their label in a box system and that does the splits for you from what I understand but I don’t know for sure. Even if you sign up for a label account, the money still comes into that account. 2. You don’t credit the producer on DITTO. The producer needs to register his music production to a PRO company so they can track sales and all that and he gets paid through them. Or you can do the label in a box option and just put him on as a writer to get his percentage.
Yes, it has to sound different. Like it can be a similar style beat with some changes but if ya the same exact music with the same exact melody just different words, it won’t work out
IAMLXGEND I have an artist account, but I can’t find the way on how to submit to Spotify playlist, I don’t see the option anywhere, do you know how to do it?Thanks for answering my first comment 🙏🏾
How does this work for putting DJ mixes out? I dont wish to make any money from this but I would like to put DJ mixes out for people to stream on Deezer etc
If you don’t own the music, you’d need to first get the rights to use their music and then put it out. Otherwise they won’t approve your release. And if they mistakenly do, and the artists find out, you’re likely to get sued.
You & Will Smith are my current favorite RUclips channels ! 💯 💡🤔

Yea. You won’t appear there. iTunes you will. Or things like this. But billboard and anything tracked by Nielsen you won’t.
i kno you’re on their payroll but be honest with me man I seen bad reviews on ditto . Is it really good & how often do you get paid ?
Thanks bro✌👍
Thank you!
No, thank YOU
Do you have to pay to upload a song??
Sorry I used to work in warehouses called distribution centers so when I talk about digital distribution SERVICES I end up saying “Center” lol.
IAMLXGEND
Can you upload podcasts through it?
Hey dude which distribution company u using?
Ditto?
Are the news about ditto not being faithful true?
Coz i wanna start with it
DistroKid. There’s news about every distribution company not being faithful. I had no problems with DITTO. I don’t use them anymore because DistroKid had better features for me.
Alright thank u fr stating ur view
Hey, I am Lxgend how are you? Thank you for another informative video that helps up & coming artists, musicians, singers, songwriters like me. I was wondering two things though (1) can an artist have 2 pros or no and (2) can an artist distribute with more than one distributor to take advantage of some services one may have with one as oppose to another?
You may be able to have 2 PROs but you can not register a song with more than one so I don’t really see the benefit of having more than one. And yes you can distribute whatever you want with whoever you want. But distributing the same song or album as something previously released must be disclosed when you distribute.
@@IAMLXGEND oh okay, well I'll definitely have to look into that, Thanks Lxgend
I don't see the release on RUclips... Does it exist???!!! Plz @dochmuzik #NextLevel
You are a beauty. Thanks man!
As are you. Thank you very much for watching and checking it out
@@IAMLXGEND no problem! Got a new subscriber after watching this! Keep it up 👊
I leased a beat and have rights to monetize a certain amount of copies but i do not own rights to the beat so im technically not the copyright holder? Will my track be denied by ditto if i dont put the producer name as the copyright holder?
Ditto doesn’t know who the producer is unless you tell them so no, they won’t deny it. But your producer can have it taken down if he’s worried about the numbers not being reported. Just depends entirely on the agreement you and he have. But generally you do not own the copyright to a leased beat.
What must i do when it says "cannot add to basket yet " ?
No idea what you mean
Seems pretty simple, hopefully I'll soon be using this soon
It’s super simple honestly and really helpful
Have you ever added a feature on a track? Do they charge extra?
No they don’t.
so wait i cant add a feature, a little weird but whatever ima just out their names in the title
Thanks Brah
How can we upload covers …???
do you have any complaints regarding Ditto?
Yo got a question im going to sign up to ditto just wondering im already a artist on Spotify with a different distribution just wondering when I sign up im going to do the £19/year
Release unlimited music for
1 artist
if I do that I can release what ever music I want and can I out my Spotify artist page on ditto and it will go to my spotify page
Thanks! nice video
They are a distributor so they distribute your music to whatever services you choose. You don’t have to do it yourself unless you don’t select it.
IAMLXGEND thanks for answering, that was fast lol, great video, very informative
veryfriendlyok i pride myself on it lol
Thank you for this video, now I know where to upload my music.
dont use ditto trust me please dont

do you receive payments from that distribution ?
You receive payments from all distribution...
If I am the only artist but want to include payment to my producer as well, do I have to register as 2 artists are does it give you an option to pay out to more than one account?
Ditto doesn’t have splits. I recommend Distrokid if you want to pay multiple parties. It will do it automatically for you once you set percentages.
There is a section where we can follow up with sales, it’s called analytics. I don’t understand why the graph shows only for Spotify, but what about the other stores? supposed they promote the music in several
stores but it’s only showing Spotify
They only show which stores have analytics to show and only the ones the song has been successfully distributed to.
Thanks! I am still waiting to get published in Pandora it’s 3 weeks already, but I was also going to ask you about Spotify sales, it’s showing we’re doing an average of 4 sales per day in Spotify, are they talking of streams? or that’s diffrent, thanks again!
What if I die and my children no longer pay for the subscription? Will the releases be taken down?
What a way to ask lol. I’m not sure DITTO’s current policy. Best to ask them directly or look on their age.
I have this and why did it say Apple Music have like a lock by it does it mean it won’t be on Apple Music ??
I’ve never heard of that so i don’t know
i sent a ticket (ticket means like a question stuff to answered by them) to ditto and i ask this question why some stores are locked...they said that its not really...for example apple music is under itunes and tidal is under aspiro...hope this helps..
Which one is better between ditto and amuse
Depends what you need. DITTO has features Amuse doesn’t have. Amuse is free and has features DITTO doesn’t have.
Does ditto music ask for you tax number in order to get paid?
How can i modify my artwork
when using another producers beat, with permission of course, how would you set that up? would you have to manage 2 artists account? or could you put yourself as the artist with a simple (prod. ~~~~) in the title?
That depends on what the producers want. If they want their name in the title they’d ask for it and you put it. If not, you’d just enter their name as a writer or composer. You don’t have to manage 2 artist accounts.
@@IAMLXGENDthanks for the timely response man, keep inspiring
Can I have featured artist over my beats without upgrading from $19 account?
You can but you won’t be able to credit them as an artist on the song unless you do in the title of the song. The artist section will only feature one name.
Incredible video & tutorial!
Thank you! I hope you got some good info and insight from this one
Actually I just watched it for support. I'm actually trying to get to Chris Brown so I can show him my remix rap verse for his song Even
Well I appreciate that too but just know when you’re ready to release some music this video will be here for you! Good luck with reaching Chris Brown!
Thanks!
Thanks
1 question, do they make the accounts for you so like for apple music and spotify or do you make it???? how does that work
Every distributor does the same: when you distribute to your artist profile, if you’re not already an artist on there it automatically creates an account for you. Once you add more music with that same service it will distribute to that same artist account. You can then go claim & customize the account yourself by downloading Spotify for Artists app or doing it on the website and downloading the Apple Music for artists app as well.
IAMLXGEND oh okay thank you
How long does it take to start streaming showing? in the page says that it can take up to three months? also do they pay for music downloaded from RUclips? thanks
They pay for everything. But not music downloaded. They can’t track RUclips downloads. Just streams.
And yes it can take months because every streaming service does this. It’s not DITTO.
So Im composing a song, which Im not gonna sing. But there will be 2 other singers who will be singing for this song. Do I have to pay any extras?
If that’s what you agree on.
@@IAMLXGEND So yes. I have paid 2 singers, to sing inside this one song. They are underrated, and not famous. So how much exactly must I pay?
彡『BLAZE』彡 again. That depends on what YOU and THEY agree on. There is no set amount. You agree on what to pay them.
@@IAMLXGEND No no, I meant, do I have to pay higher amount in this website on your video as the singers increase?
彡『BLAZE』彡 no......
Does this include RUclips publishing
It does not unfortunately but I will be making another video soon on which company I do use for RUclips, Facebook, and Instagram publishing!
If I chose the single artist plan, can I still have a featured artist on my track?
Yes
bro i love u can u upload vidz abt mixing technique
I can but it’s not gonna be very detailed. I don’t consider myself a master of mixing, for me it’s just turning stuff up and down until it sounds right lol.
Yes.
So if i get a feature from 2 artists would i have to get the record label option or how does that work. Theres only a one and 2 artist option for independent artists and i want to work with other artists so im trying to understand... ?
Also how would i credit the producer so they can get paid.
Do parodies count as someone else's work or no?
Yes, it has to sound different. Like it can be a similar style beat with some changes but if ya the same exact music with the same exact melody just different words, it won’t work out
@@IAMLXGEND ight thanks man
No problem
Good video bro, but how do you get to be on a Spotify playlist or something like that?
You submit your song directly with spotify. I believe you need an artist account.
IAMLXGEND I have an artist account, but I can’t find the way on how to submit to Spotify playlist, I don’t see the option anywhere, do you know how to do it?Thanks for answering my first comment 🙏🏾
All info here: artists.spotify.com/faq/promotion#how-do-i-submit-music-to-your-editorial-team
Hi, in how many days your song was released?
Zero
How does this work for putting DJ mixes out? I dont wish to make any money from this but I would like to put DJ mixes out for people to stream on Deezer etc
If you don’t own the music, you’d need to first get the rights to use their music and then put it out. Otherwise they won’t approve your release. And if they mistakenly do, and the artists find out, you’re likely to get sued.
MixCloud bro
im thinking of going with ditto or united master. which one should i go for?
Whichever works best for you. Never used United Masters. So idk anything about them.
