I wonder if Poseidon would have been vengeful if Polyphemus never knew the name Odysseus and could not make an effective prayer. Would he have listened in bemusement when Polyphemus beseeched him to bring vengeance upon "Nobody?"
Seriously loving this series so much! You are so fun to watch I never get bored. I have read the odyssey before starting your videos, and I literally fell in love with it. Now I am watching your videos and following along in my book and it’s so funny to see my annotated parts Match up with your snarkyness and it’s just great. I’ll be full on CACKLING out loud at your sayings and my husband it like “is the odyssey THAT interesting and funny?” Why yes, YES IT IS lol
Hey MoAn Inc.! I'm currently studying at Boston University and I've been watching your videos to keep up with my writing class. I really really enjoy your content and I can't wait to finish the rest of your videos! Just wanna say a HUGE THANK YOU to U!! : ]
I don't know how you find so much time to read all these books. However, if you decide to jump into theatre, Punch Drunk Theatre has a new show "In the smouldering promise of the fall of Troy, a mythical world of Gods and mortals rises from the ashes." The Burnt City maybe right up your street.
Wonderfully lively presentation as usual. 'You're eating all my men and that's not really hospitable.' 3.02 'They stop at this place called Ismaros, get off the boat there, they ransack the whole place...attacked these people for seemingly no reason, they end up winning and Odysseus is like we've got all the plunder from this place they've got all the gold' 10.05 The reason why they let this only person survive the original plunder of the city...'You're a priest of Apollo you can f♡☆$ing live!' So 'plundering' a city seems to involve not just looting but a near total massacre of everyone. Ruthless, semi-barbaric times indeed.
Wait! Is it just me or I just now realised that he was actually eating Odysseus men ?? I was thinking the whole time Polyphemus was killing people for fun!? Wtf that's dark man.
I remember pulling the whole "nobody" trick on my dad as a kid. He didn't think it was funny, and beat me with a pair of jumper cables.
Uhh how?

Thank you so much 🫶🏼✨🥰
They lost 6 men off of each boat, that would make it at 72 men total. Great content BTW!
Thank you!!! 💗
Thank you for these! I’m in my first college semester in 10 years and you have saved me and helped get an A in my relig class

After the cyclopes eats the first two guys, I'm sure the one who said let's take some cheese and leave said, "I told you we should have left."
Odysseus is how I got my user name
👀

Seems like Odysseus is such a braggart that he can't help but piss people (and gods) off.
Thank you, this helped me so much. I would be cooked without this video😭
