Its importaant to know that two consecutive vowels in the greek language are normally pronounced as a single vowel or as a consonant. see below greek letters = latin translation = pronunciation below: οι = oi = e αι = ai = Ǽ -> e.g. Αίολος = Ǽolos ευ = eu = ef or ev αυ = au = af or av ει = ei = e ου = ou = u hope that helps :P
