when the punishments are the same for theft over $5k and theft of $20 million, you might wanna update your criminal code
that would just impact all the higher ups that embezzle money.
@@DigitalYojimbo lol so true
It was. In 1867 when we became the country of Canada.
Before that time they would have all been hung.
100% agree
Mind as well ante up. Is laughable people still going to jail over petty theft. 😂
I heard they took the gold and still couldn’t afford a house in Toronto.
Inaccurate. It was enough for half of a down payment :)

Imagine telling your boss that you accidentally put the pallet of gold bars into the fish truck.
Well, it wasn't an accident mate.
Why the pallet didn't have a tracker?
Uh ohh Spaghettios
Was the man driving the forklift one of the suspects? U have to be awfully stupid or hate ur job so much that u dont care to think that fish come in those metal containers

It’s Canada so not really.
it would be racist to hold them..
that Jamaican that shoved the Royal MInt's Gold up his rear end is out on bail, sentenced, and asked by the courts (nicely) to please return the money...........which has been in Jamaica for his new home for years now. Ain't gonna happen. And I wouldn't be surprised he gets hired......by Toronto Airport Security.
Then only investigators can flow them to find out the lead of the organized crime.
Air Canada waited 5 hours to contact police. Excellent headstart for the truck driver.
It had to be an inside job, so that Air Canada parties held off in reporting it, until the coast was clear.

Well when you have a government that's taking in a million poor, uneducated criminals each year I'm surprised it's not worse.
them laughing at the beginning of this when not recovering even a fraction of what's lost says it all
Yeah, they're super proud of themselves for kinda getting the job half-way finished.
i cant believe their attitude when they recovered 500k of the 20 million and half the suspects are in mexico for the rest of there lives with more money than they can spend.
Yup, all they found where the 6 bracelets
They let these criminals out of bail? How the F did that happen?
It costs money to keep non-violent offenders in jail. If they kept them in jail you whine at how much money the government spends.
Innocent until proven guilty. They're currently suspects and not criminals. The real question is why aren't more people released pending trial.
Apparently, they had money.

400 kg of gold at todays value is not $20M. Try $41M. Add the cash this heist was over $43M. I don't understand why they always underestimate the value.
Wait…why are they lying about its worth? Is it at all possible that if you buy 400.19kg of gold they heavily discount it? I just don’t see how any institution would take +10million dollars off the sale price…however, I have never bought that much gold at once before hahahaha

I was surprised there weren’t any tracking devices added on to the container for such an expensive cargo of gold from Switzerland to Canada.
Nah man, a tracking device? what for? All along the way from the gold mine to the airport they were all university educated people who know what their doing. University educated people don't like people telling them what to do. Don't give them easy ideas. They are paid to think and your not paid for your ideas.
There is tracking. It’s on the label. Just not how you think. It would show when it’s loaded onto the plane and removed..I get notifications from Air Canada for my own suitcase when it’s moving about

The fact that a gold shipment goes to a normal cargo hanger is basically poor procedure. Most gold and large amounts of money should right away go to a facility operated by bricks or other security company.
it was actually located in a secure cargo section, though it wasn't mentioned here. Brinks did take their sweet time showing up so that point is valid
@@spicybeak69 I wouldn't call a place that you can get in with a invoice and wearing a safety vest as secure. Secure is the place where the US dispose of their old money. Where even getting into the shipping or cargo lot you need someone like a security guard to buzz you in. Where the security guard to double check pick up and drop off appointments with their own to match up. Someone that even with an invoice you need to hack into their database to get a legitmate copy.
