Suspicion is one thing, proving it in court is another. I recall reading that a good proportion of CCTV footage of crimes is unusable in court since it's too blurry. A lot of car dashcam CCTV footage is like that, it can't capture license plates but only the overall make and color of the car.

The best part is that all this money is State and Federal Tax FREE !
A smart criminal will find a way to launder the money so taxes are paid on it. Spending a lot of money and not having paid the appropriate amount of taxes for that amount of money gets the IRS's attention *very* quickly. They got Al Capone on tax evasion because it's an easy crime to identify and prove.
Problem is, laundering $30 million dollars isn't exactly easy. If they're smart, and given how smoothly they pulled off the heist it's fair to assume they are, they'll be cleaning this money for years to come.

"No Victims"... per Trump, it ain't a crime.
No security or anything
It's not that uncommon, it's already public that there where only few people aware of the amount of cash being stored. Security through obscurity sadly is still seen as 'sufficient' in many cases.
Also, there were security systems in place they just got bypassed each one of them..Another indication an inside job is likely.
If they get caught, but money isn't recovered they will do a few years and then immigrate to a non extraditionary country and live out their lives as they please.. unless greed or gambling / dope makes them poor again.
@@antmck99
The only victim is the insurance the cash moving company surely has. And they are probably looking at in increase in insurance rates..
It's still grand larceny, they will do time if they get caught off course but it's probably not going to be the same amount of years they would have to work to earn 30M. You have to have a pretty good paycheck to not get tempted by a 30M payout ( assuming it's an inside job which is what it looks like ).

What incompetent manager approved a vault design that did not include a reinforced ceiling?
A manager trying to cut costs and ended up getting bit in the end like Boeing 😂
Better yet who approved a building holding 30 million with no armed guards in an urban area
I worked for Dunbar for several years . These places have 2 - 3 separate , independent security systems, dozens of cameras that are motion sensitive if I remember correctly we had around 80 cameras , seismic sensors , cages and vaults that can not be opened from the outside unless you have 2 different access devices with codes.
All signs point to these guys or gals either had an inside person or had inside information . It’s just not possible unless the people that closed the facility did not arm all the different systems and there was a failure. At our facility the alarms all had to to be armed by a certain time , and if you didn’t the first thing that would happen would be the security system calling , asking for the password and then finding out how long till the system would be armed . They would call every 15-30 min after that . After an hour they would send the police . If nobody answers the phone then the systems would be armed remotely . This screams inside job .
Your probably right.
Now your a suspect you know too much expect a visit from the cops 🛂🚓🚓🚓

Atta way 👍🏻 Anybody clever enough to steal that much cash from the man deserves to keep it, I reckon..
Yeeeeahh, except they can't keep it.
They have no option but to send that cash overseas for laundering. You can't just deposit $30 million in your checking account, you know. Somebody might actually notice, since you can't deposit more than $10,000 at a time without the IRS being notified by the bank.
Then again, perhaps the robbers will just open 300,000 new bank accounts, I'm sure no one would notice THAT. Just sitting on all that cash makes even less sense, since if you can't SPEND it, what GOOD is it? That money is in a container on a ship heading overseas, no idea which country, since Swiss Bank anonymity is not a thing anymore, at least when dealing with these amounts.
And if Garda has actually been clever, they would have recorded the serial numbers on those bills, rendering their theft absolutely useless. if the serial numbers had been recorded, Garda could leave that money out in the parking lot, for all the good it would do would-be thieves.
In fact, I would be willing to wager the FBI HAS those serial numbers and is just waiting to see if the robbers are stupid enough to actually try to spend this windfall. Seems unlikely, as this theft seems to have been pretty well thought out.
