In my opinion, the approach is the most important part of attacking a volleyball. Without proper footwork, it will be very difficult to become a good hitter. Start with this 3-step approach to get the basics, and as you get more comfortable, you can speed it up, and even go for a 4-step approach (I never used a 4-step approach, though, so I'm biased :))
Sarah, Thank you so much! Your simple yet profound explanations are precious! We like how you work on the basics, which are so very important. Some videos are overly complicated--yours are clear and effective! We will cheerfully "attack" this skill with energetic passion! We can't wait for your PART 2~!
Thanks! I am a volleyball purist, so I 100% prefer the Mikasa. You have to be much more technically sound with the Mikasa for it to do what you want. It does not let you get away with bad form. With the Wilson, you can get hit with the ball and it will still be controlled haha.
Thank you so much for this explanation! As the lockdown is still on and the regular training are suspended, your videos are so valuable! I have one question: whould you recommend doing this exercise without the ball for a while and get the steps right first? Or, is it any better to get a partner who will at least through the ball in front of me? I do not mean to go to the second and third stage here and now but just to get used to the situation when the ball is around.
When I was learning the approach, I did it on its own to start. Learning these steps and getting comfortable with them are the most important part of attacking, so I think it's a good idea to work on them without a ball for a while.
what about staying tall instead of leaning forward so much before starting approach..if u lean too much wont you lose the position of the ball in the air?
Leaning forward gets your body momentum heading in the right direction so that when the set is released, you can accelerate forward right away. By starting tall, you have to transfer that straight up-and-down stance to forward energy. You want your approach to be aggressive and explosive, and starting with a slight lean helps initiate that. You obviously don't want to be leaning forward so much that you fall or can't see the set.
Jesus is coming soon! We are all sinners . We've all fallen short of His glory. The wages of sin is death (hell) that's what we all deserve. God is just, and because of that, He must punish evil. Jesus came and took our punishment and died (but rose again 3 days later) for our sins. All we have to do is repent and trust in Jesus Christ then we will receive the gift of eternal life in heaven . Time is ticking, but it hasn't ran out ❤️

My mom showed me this and it really helped me
P.S. We found some of your old Nebraska games on RUclips and love watching your genius on the court! It's fun poetry--intelligence and flow!
Vlw Sarah, estou aprimorando meu vôlei com suas dicas.
Obrigado!

Thanks a lot, kindly share a video on how best to dodge blocks while spiking?
Getting the steps down improved my game more than any other one thing. Thanks for the great tutorial! Do you prefer the Mikasa or the Wilson AVP ball?

Thank you, this was very useful 😊
