      I second this and love the way you stated it. It's a very good metaphor. I prep for my family, livestock, neighbors in that order. Neighbors that have been there for me are valuable! They have eyes to watch, labor to help, and excellent skills to barter. They have much to bring to the table and if they don't have food, water, OTC meds etc., I want to be able to provide that. Nobody can do a disaster alone.

      The biggest threat will be people who believe they are entitled to what you have. If you have two blankets, they think that's one too many. They should have one of those blankets. It's the people are used to being given everything without working for it. Those are the people who will be the threat.

      I have had my share of mental illness, but I have always worked to provide for myself and my family and friends. To me, the most dangerous people are 1. Those who believe their entitled to free hand out, and 2. Those who are quick to judge others as being a liability, when they may not be.

      See if you can get more lower dose meds instead of few high dose pills so you can somewhat wean them down instead of sudden cutoff of meds. They will still end up without needed meds but the slower transition might help prevent some danger. This is a really tough one.

    • @manictiger
      @manictiger 4 месяца назад +4

      Anarchy is a temporary state that opens up the gates for lots of authoritarian activity. We have currently rolled a 9 out of 12 on the dice. Not perfect, but pretty good. If we roll again, the chance of getting a number lower than 9, is higher than getting a number higher than it. We have a high chance of having worse wide-spread corruption after anarchy.

    My biggest fear is neighbors who don't put any food aside. I have one neighbor I ask if she has any food saved in case of a disaster. She told me she'd rather be among the first to die. I reasoned with her by asking, have you ever been without food for several days. She said no. I told her that starvation is a horrible way to die. She now has her pantry filled! 🤗
    I never tell anyone about the amount of food I have on hand, except that I set aside food and water for a couple of weeks if an earthquake occurs, which every normal person would probably do.

    I’ve only really told my sister that I’m a full on prepper, she said “I’ll just come to your place”.
    This was intentional on my part, as she and hubby are the people I want at my place lol, not my two useless brothers who just hope and pray.

    I've been carefully looking to form some kind of prepper group in my neighborhood for years, and to be honest I'm not willing to reveal my status to strangers. There are a number of good, hard working folks in the neighborhood, but they generally don't seem to be interested in preparing for disaster. I'm certain they will be helpful in many circumstances, but I also believe they won't bring much to the table other than a willingness to help, and only then if it doesn't require a significant effort on their part. They have become comfortably dependent on the status quo.

    Печально, что даже маленькие подготовки ТЧ или запасов продуктов, многие в шутку воспринимают, но я могу представить каково будет у нас зимой отключи электричество и воду - для жителей центра города это уже коллапс, у нас север, морозы до - 40, но больше пугает, что дом деревянный - панельный на 16 квартир и не дай бог пожар

    Wow, pretty cold video. That’s not a bad thing. Sometimes you’ve gotta lay stuff out plainly and sometimes it’s not pretty. I think you did a really good job with this topic!
    Regarding the federal government it matters which agency they are in as well as what they’re doing with their military service, knowing someone, family or/and friending someone who does work for the federal government is not necessarily a liability in my old man universe of experiences I found that the family is route is stronger than the route to the job. And as such they can provide a unique assistance.

    Hey thanks for your video - I am here in Bosnia in a totally corrupt society, looking out to survive somehow. My best friend over here in town is a mentally ill person dealing with criminals (They use her openly to smuggle some stuff over the border and they always watch out for the "easy money" instead to show some iniciative for a better and green life...). I have been joining Greeneace and I am always a thorn in their view. (They have the problem to forget the zoo Columbia...) :)

    Random question: if someone experiences a small financial windfall (I.e. tax refund, pay raise, etc) what would be a better way to spend the money to make headway in prepping--a pew pew/classes/LTC or a solar generator? In other words, which would you prioritize with this money--security or energy?

    • @user-fd2ok9fo9y
      @user-fd2ok9fo9y 5 месяцев назад +5

      There are always people with bigger and better pew pews. I would start with a solar generator and perimeter security like upgraded door locks, frames, windows. Just my opinion. Scatter the food and water preps.’’not everything in one basket.

      You're better off learning skills from a professional. How to hunt, fish and survive in the wilderness, first aid, and how to defend yourself. Then spend money on stuff. Nobody can ever take those skills away from you.
