yes,it works and keeps your hands warmer in winter. I put a pair of those cheap, one-use rubber gloves over the lightly oiled hands for work that thicker gloves would get in the way of, the baseline and rubber gloves are great for jobs, especially using water as your skin won't get wet. If not water jobs, I throw some stretch gloves over the rubber ones while shoveling snow, etc-extra warm. The stretch gloves get wet but not your hands. I have a little bucket with laundry soap I throw them all in and at the end of every day, wash, rinse and hang for the next day. stretchy gloves dry in a couple hours indoors.
In the wintertime, sometimes my hands get so dried out, they crack and bleed. Rubbing my hands with Vaseline, and putting on vinyl gloves before going to bed, has saved my hands, and restored moisture by the time I get up the next day.
As a new prepper I learn more from this man than most of the other preppers I've listened too. He knows what he is talking about and gives great useful information

During superstorm Sandy I went to visit my sister in law and help her get stabilized. She was starting to run out of gas for her generator after a few days. In her neighborhood there were flooded disabled vehicles. I used a hammer and screwdriver, punctured a hole in the gas tanks of the totaled cars and drained the fuel tanks into a aluminum foil roasting pan. I then used a coffee filter to run the reclaimed gasoline through on it's way to the generator.
Unless the vehicle is totaled, the owners will probably expect the gas tanks to be replaced. Lots of ways to siphon gas without puncturing the tank. Also, all the crud sits in the bottom of the tank, so the generator won’t run long before it’s filter is plugged,
@cuddahy1zzz The cars were totally filled with water in the passenger compartment. The car alarms were sounding and the lights flashing due to the electrical shorting.
Restaurants usually have tons of pickles bucket that they can't give enough of them away. I probably got 20 in 2 months for free. They are thick and sturdy as well with nice seal lids.
@Bonnie Upton if you think dog hair stinks, try some cat hair. I just use cotton balls, not free but only about 2 cents a piece. Well worth the lack of stink. Lol

Videos of this sort help me to help my extended family in addition to our immediate household. An inventory of what you have and what you need to build up is a good thing. Sometimes, an Item will go "out of stock" but is not noticed. That is where a superior video like this one helps. You now observe that you no longer have a particular item and put that on the list for your next excursion out. Beautiful Bride and I always tell the "outlaws" that "it is better to have and not need than to need and not have." A little effort and expense pre-need make a world of difference when things go wrong.

JB Weld can also be very useful for repairs like fixing cracked or broken windows, broken pot handles, eye glass earpieces , etc. It's a permanent repair for things that need to bear a load.
I've used it to seal a puncture in a radiator. Place a small piece of screen slightly larger over the hole, apply JB in several thin layers, extending it around the edges, like feathering. Lasted at least 6 months.
Great info, did you know that you can start a fire with steel wool and a battery? One thing you forgot is Super Glue. It has many uses. I've used it many times as a suture. New subscriber here. US Army Retired Vet.
We use large coffe filters for popcorn bowls, sandwich plates, put them in bottom of plant containors so soil doesn't leak out, when assembling new products or working on something mechanical it's a great place to put the parts so you can see them & they won't roll away as easily.i gave a large pack of the large filters to my mechanic friends for gifts, at first , they all gave me a "what is this for" look. When I explained it, they wondered why they hadn't thought if it. Their wife's said they ordered more of them.
Those who can afford it, look for a fondue kit for cooking and heating indoors. There are 2 types: candle and alcohol burner. It's safer than a metal can and worth it if you can afford one. The candle ones are usually relatively cheap.
Zip Ties get old and fail. Especially in the winter when it's dry, they tend to get brittle and break. You can extend that life by putting a small amount of water in the bag that holds them, but replacement is the best option.
If you’re restraining a bad guy with a zip tie, keep him under observation because an experienced bad guy can use shoe laces or other items to break free.
Just a few hours ago I had shared Green Beret's awesome video on closing wounds without actual sutures and you talk about it in this video. I am watching good stuff, by the looks of it. Cheers, mate! 👍
Here's a cheap tip: buy many of these items for pennies on the dollar at estate sales. I always check out bathrooms at estate sales for (sometimes partial) containers of vaseline, dental floss, many useful prepper items

HR here. Thx for the vid, JR. Lotta good info this week. Like the safety pin reference. I hadn't thought of them. I've always used baling wire in the past. In many cases, pins would be a better option. There's my comment, now a question... How much for the hat?? 😁JK!! CYA next time. Cheers
Another use for coffee filters: Filtering old gasoline to refresh it for use in an engine. Separate the old gas from any water that would have accumulated at the bottom of the container (the water would be on the bottom), then pour the old gas through a couple filters before mixing 1 part old gas with 4 parts new gas. The filters would catch the gummy substances that form in old gasoline, and absorb trace amounts of water to help the gas burn without causing damage to the engine or fuel filters.
Plastic sleds are good. Can pull stuff or put your kids on them and pull them for those of us who live where it snows. ALSO, it would be great to do something g that has to do with our pets like dogs and cats. How to protect them like their paws for long hikes to a safe place……
You can also use Duct tape to start a fire. Watch a guy called coprals corner and he shows ya how to do it in a survival situation and works when it's raining and ur trying to start a fire too.

You can buy cast iron trivets that have tea light holders in them. They are elevated and some are large enough that have three tea lights.
You'll eventually find a fondue set at a thrift shop. It seems to be an often donated item. I got 2 there..

Put rice in a freezer for a few days/weeks & that should do it

In general garbage bags shouldn’t be used for food or water. A lot of them are treated with things for smell and mold and they leach chemicals.
Good stuff...adapting a sawyer on a five gallon....Im also thinking a tee shirt in bottom of bucket with straw on top of tee as a pre-filter???
Would steel wool be safe to use to drain water through, for an initial cleaning of small stuff? Of course then you need to boil the water.
