    There is an important question related to placing orders when the market is closed....and that is whether it is a good or bad idea. Do you get the price that market closed at, I believe you don’t and have read it is actually a time when spreads are larger and is in fact the worst time to buy, but don’t know enough about it. I have two orders waiting for NY to open........

    • @SocialTrading
      @SocialTrading  5 лет назад

      When you place an order to open a trade when the market it is closed, and you haven't specified a specific price that you'd like to open your trade at, from what I understand it's actually an 'at market' order, which means that it will open the trade at the asset price when the market opens that day (or as close as it can execute it to that number)

    Do you know if the orders pending are bought at the opening market price or a pre markets price? Cheers. I guess the answer will be the same for selling... cheers

    You're next mission. Understand the order book. I've looked at 2 long videos and still not getting it but it seems essential for trading the short term stuff.

    Hey Tom - quick question unrelated to this video if you can help me out please.
    I checked my own stats, and it says my AVG Trades per week is 0.39. Yet I copy 5 traders who all well exceed this hugely.
    Can you shed light on why my own trades per week average is so low? Is it because not all my funds are used yet? Will it take more time? I have been copy trading for about 3-4 months, surely my avg trades per week should be closer to the avg trades of the people I copy?
    Thanks in advance man!
    Dave

      @SocialTrading  6 лет назад

      Hi there Dave - sorry for the late reply. I've been gone for a while as you've probably seen :) I think it might count each copy as a single trade... I've wondered about this myself.

    so what happens to open positions when the market time is over?

    • @SocialTrading
      @SocialTrading  6 лет назад

      They just stay there in your portfolio. There is actually a pre market and post market trading session, but we don't have access to that. If you've used leverage or it's a sell position you'll be charged overnight fees to cover the cost of holding the asset overnight - I made a separate video about these fees...

    • @SocialTrading

      I always look for it off etoro... I've never seen pre market prices displayed durectly on etoro. I usually just do a Google search for the stock name followed day the words pre-market

    • @SocialTrading
      @SocialTrading  7 лет назад

      H Franz, I'm hearing some bad reports at the moment - you might want to hold off for a bit until they can get their customer service up and running - obviously I can't be sure, but at the moment, it might be safe to wait until their system is back working perfectly...

    • @franzfirst7823
      @franzfirst7823 7 лет назад

      thank you for the answer...the customer service write me this morning they say that the lower price to entry at position is 5000$ i believe this not good for entry level traders like me..why the policy is that ?

    I just started as well. I've been practicing on virtual for only a month. And just went to "real" for 300 USD just yesterday, and copied a user with a solid steady growth percentage. However, it's been 12 hours and I don't see anything in my porfolio, I don't see any plus or minus in the profit... But I do see it's "allocated" - Is this because my account isn't verified yet? I've entered all my data just a few hours ago. Sorry for the question but I don't see this info in FAQ section.

      Forex yes, Penny stocks nope -- not as far as i can see. I guess there are some with smaller price tags but they're all leaders in their industries.

    if I opened an order after the market close(to take the benefit of some prices drop after a company revenue report), will the price excuted at the moment I open the order or the price after the market open on the next day ?

    • @SocialTrading
      @SocialTrading  2 года назад +1

      Hey there - as far as I’m aware, (although there could be some new mechanism I don’t know about !) if the order is still just an order in your portfolio and hasn’t yet been opened, then it will be executed and turned into an active position when the markets next open and etoro can open the position for you.

    • @reshomoon
      @reshomoon 2 года назад

      @@SocialTrading so the price of the share will be at the market price of the next day , but not the price of the time that I opened the order?

    • @SocialTrading
      @SocialTrading  2 года назад

      As far as I'm aware, If the markets were closed when you opened the order, then the trade isn't actually opened yet - it only opens when eToro can connect to the open markets and open that trade for us.

    Please how do I increase leverage to x100?...i only have to ×50

    • @naderetaiwi4683
      @naderetaiwi4683 7 лет назад +2

      nurex 90 it depends on what you are trying to (buy/sell) some assets have higher or lower leverage it depends on the asset volatility. Sadly you can’t choose higher than the maximum leverage etoro allows you.

    • @SocialTrading
      @SocialTrading  7 лет назад +1

      Mr Nader is right - it depends on the asset you're trading. Forex and commodities have much higher leverage than stocks - it depends on the average volatility of the asset i believe. The less volatile the asset normally is (meaning the less the price usually moves up and down in range) the higher leverage offered so that traders can make equal-ish profits across all assets. At least I think that's it :)

      I've heard this one before - I think it's got to do with the answers you gave when you signed up - the ones about how much risk you're willing to take on, etc - see if you can edit those answers in your profile settings. Maybe that will work...
