I love that both Naru and this Predator are young and have something to prove. It is the opposite of Dutch and the Forest Predator who are experienced killers, yet the predator's defeat is the same: It underestimated its prey and got outsmarted by it.
I would imagine that since it came on a spaceship, to hunt and kill, on a planet IT understands is filled with 'primitive' things. And it is basically BORN to hunt and kill, things it percieves as primitive, ALL it's prey is believed to be inferior, primitive and lacking intelligence. They are sky gods after all. (in their own minds) the Predator is an excelerated being. Advanced being that celebrates hunting and killing above all else.
Dutch’s Predator was Moré technologically advanced where this Predator only had a spear. Why didn’t it use its wrist detonator like in the other movies? Oh that’s right, because they wanted a female to save the day………😂
Naru is the perfect example of what a modern female protagonist should mean. She's so very well written. She's brave, skillfull and strong, but not by chance. She worked for it, had real motivations and was very intelligent in her approach, not only choosing to use her strenght. This movie is a kick on everybody that try to do a politically correct and inclusive movie, going above a good written script. Props to the creators, I really loved the film!

We don't know if those are canon anymore since Hollywood have been known to disregard comics, games, novels, cartoons, TV Shows, and sometimes their own films when making new films for a franchise, such as what Disney did with Star Wars before they butchered it
She really made the movie great. Such a good, strong female character and final girl. This is how you do it. I love that in her final fight, she has to use everything she has seen and learned about the Predator to defeat him.
The basic premise of this instalment is so nice and well-found: put a Predator with a group of people that are in some ways reminicient of the soldiers in part 1, but in a completely different time period and part of the world. You can variate infinitely with this.

This movie was awesome when I watched it for first time. Love it. Naru as female protagonist is amazingly smart, beautiful and brave, and the Predator is uglier and scarier than ever. Its design is completely creepy. Fortunately, they made a great job with this movie. ❤
It´s very fun to reinvent History. Women were not warriors, in the Amerindian Comunity, nor were they in other parts of The World. Their role consisted in cooking and taking care of their children.

Nice tie in of the gun to the Danny Glover scene in Predator 2 where the Elder gives it to him. I wonder if he took it from her. Tell me this doesn't open the avenue of another film...
I also rate this movie very high in the Predator franchise. When I watched Naru back in 2022 I immediately loved everything about her female character. And a believable one, I have to add! So ignore the negative comments. Her victorious scream at the end is the highlight of the entire film for me. She proved herself as a hunter against one of the most vicious Predators. I also cried at the final scene when she returned with her trophy back to her tribe and was finally accepted and respected as an equal by the elders. In a sense she also reflects Predator society in which the young ones also have to earn their place and rank as an experienced warrior first.
I was impressed with Naru's physical skills and determination. As a youth myself, I threw hatchets and stone fashioned tomahawks a lot; it takes practiced skill to get them to strike correctly. Western indian children started practice with bows as mere children, and wrestled all the time. A lot of the intense close in fighting is believable.
Unless you failed to comprehend the psyche of the predator on this movie.(or you have not watched the movie yet) It lacked experience. US Special Forces do not have that level of technical knowledge and skill of the American natives when it comes to understanding the wilderness and how to use primitive weapons/tools And by the way Dutch killed the Predator using primitive weapons.. .right?.....The team who made this movie did a lot of think tank work and logic to make the movie grounded the best they could. The 1987 film is the most realistic and simplistic way on how to kill the .(using a trap) Its gonna be boring if the Prey (predator) here meets the same fate. So the other option is to kill it by outsmarting it.That is why in this movie the predator is the Prey. because it turned out he got cleverly outsmarted. Great job. by the cast, crew and team.
big muscles doesn't mean someone is truly strong. Pretty much every comanche was far more of a threat to this predator than dutch squad. Dutch only won when he Started to use methods that the comanche were taught pretty much from birth.
In what is now Call Mexico many tribe's including Aztec before the arrival of the conquistadores there are records of these type of encounters later the Conquistadores had the same encounters.
I like that it emphasizes that badass is badass, regardless of the weapons or era, and that your best weapon is always between your ears. I also like the idea of an indigenous people speaking in the language we understand, instead of trying to overlay some cheesy native accent over what sounds like a primitive version of English.
Seen the movie and I have the DVD. Liked it. Part of the film is about some French trappers down from what is now Canada. There are a number of cities, towns, and geological features in the upper plains that have French names. As to why the French folks were there? It was for the furs as, at the time, central heating was yet to be a thing. Fur caps and coats were the best way to go at that time. There is also a reference to buffalos, as a small herd had been killed and skinned. Currently, there is a longing for those times when buffalo were in vast herds as before. So, then, Herford, Angus, or Buffalo?
A great prequel.. necessitates a continuing saga to bridge the past to contemporary times.. better than the original?? Please . there wouldn't be a franchise if the original wasn't than memorable .
Much to learn from this movie, the way the brave survived becoming so resourceful l in nature- respecting nature - I don't doubt such an outcome; because in real life I had the immense honor to fight shoulder to shoulder with a Navajo woman. I was a gunner carrying the heaviest of loads posible and yet at 5 feet something small frame that female soldier was my choice when I had to live for R&R in the heath of combat in Afghanistan. That was not easy task...But that was an easy choice... I was part of an elite Army ground combat platoon...I have been an Athlete all of my life ever winning accolades for every team or sport I was part of...An I had never lost a physical fight...We were highly competitive "Alpha dogs" We already had taller really strong and qualified men wasted just by the physical demands on the field. But I knew her, not the talkative type, and always carrying a knife wherever she might roam... Just by looking in her eyes I knew she had it in her. One day during a training run of over 10 miles with obstacles and all, and where others one by one fell by the side of the road due to exhaustion or injuries and out of dozens less than 10 remained ... She paired up to my side I smiled thinking "you are really though, what a lesson you have thought to all of those blabber mouths " She went onto surviving a huge chaotic battle where precisely her team captured one of the most important terrorists during the entire deployment...I smiled again...After all she was my choice when I was asked who was qualified to replace me...

Nice story. But "never lost a physical fight" gave it away for me. I knew a lot of fighters, boxers, and other disciplines, Asian style stuff. Some big guys too, six foot 5 or more. But everybody, on a bad day can loose a fight. A split second can be enough for that. Apart from personal experience. We also know that guys like Mohammed Ali, Mike Tyson and others sometimes lost a fight. Even the notorious Chuck Norris. (i never got totally knocked out by anybody, maybe just lucky, but twice i went to the ground for a few seconds).

Nice story. But "never lost a physical fight" gave it away for me.
I knew a lot of fighters, boxers, and other disciplines, Asian style stuff. Some big guys too, six foot 5 or more. But everybody, on a bad day can loose a fight.
A split second can be enough for that. Apart from personal experience. We also know that guys like Mohammed Ali, Mike Tyson and others sometimes lost a fight.
