- The issue with that clicking noise was the bolts on the stator were loose. One of them was several turns out. I put lock-tite on them and snugged them down. Have to be careful because the stator threads are fine and the aluminum is easily stripped.

WOW, just a few threads away from backing all the way out. Be grateful you fixed it in August and not February!!!!

Lucky find. That engine was so clean in the cooling fins etc. be careful tightening the flywheel with an impact. I cracked one on a CCKA Onan because the flywheel was tapered. The Onan sounds great..
