You are so fun!
Fabulous ! I just graduated from design school. I would love for you to create a vidéo on how designer price their services. As well as a video on invoice, storage warehouse of furniture kept for clients until the projects is ready to be delivered.
Girl THANK YOU so much for this! I was so intimidated and confused about this process and you made it so so simple and accessible and now I am READY! Thanks again!!! * subscribed *
You're so welcome boo!
@@SandySaintilus I've now done steps 1-4! Thanks again! I'm a bit confused on step 5, is this to become a licensed interior designer aka take a test, etc? or something else?
I needed this, trying to do the same !
Glad I could help :)
You give guidance and inspiration. I would appreciate a pricing video. I'm subscribed so I won't miss anything.
I uploaded a video on different ways Designers charge their clients.
I would really love for you to make the video all about pricing please. I really love this video! So helpful! Thank you ❤
Coming up! I a few other home decor focused videos that will air first but watch out for the pricing video in March :)
Great video! As a fellow interior designer in Atlanta, it's great to see more designers represented on RUclips outside of the typical cities (LA, NYC, Toronto, etc.).
One question about the interior design business license; do you need to file additional paperwork to "practice" commercial interior design in Atlanta/Georgia?
One video idea I would like to suggest is the difference between commercial and residential interior design.
Hmmm...good question. To my knowledge no because the design plans for commercial buildings go through a pretty intense approval process with the city. However A LOT of commercial designers have their RID certification. You can learn more about that by googling the NCIDQ exam.
Also, good video idea!
I was thinking about that question too
Hi Sandy, Great video! Very informative. You mention Canva for mood boards is it easier than using houzz pro? I’m new to Interior design looking to to launch my business by November.
Personally, I haven't used Houzz Pro but I imagine they work relatively the same. I have a video on doing moodboards in Canva if you want to check tht out to compare
Hi! I was wondering what level of education you have to have or what licenses/registrations
Must you hold?
Thank you! :)
What camera are you using? It’s amazing!!
I attribute it to the lense lol it was shot on a cannon t6 with a cannon 50mm lense
Thank you so much. I was so confused with all this stuff and no one helps. I love this. Can you also show us how we mark up the prices we buy? Do we contact vendor or wholesalers? Confused on who is a vendor or wholesaler list/names
You're welcome! And good question. Normally clients pay you for their furniture so if you mark up the furniture you just send them an invoice that includes the markup. Then you use their payment to purchase furniture and pocket the difference.
@@SandySaintilus Sounds great! Do you use an app that does the marks up and adds the tax and all that? I am so bad in math.
@@gracewilliams117 Normally designers us different project managment website to do this like Design Filer, Gathr, Houzz, Ivy. Those programs have monthly subscriptions though , if you want something free you can set up formulas in an excel sheet and use it as a template for all projects. However, some of the programs I mentioned have free trials too.
@@SandySaintilus Thank you so much, Sandy 🙏
So I am just finding you. So glad that I did. Everyone seems to keep interior design pricing a secret🤷🏽♀️ I’ve taken a course, but I’m definitely looking to start a business. I’ve done the LLC and EIN. If I am not starting out with seeking of furniture, is it necessary for me to file with department of revenue? Is that the same thing as the resale license?
That was suppose to be *selling of furniture
Glad it was helpful! And wether or not you plan to sell furniture you still need to get your business license through the department of revenue in your city. Forming the LLC with your state is separate from getting a biz license
@@SandySaintilus ok! Thanks so much for responding
I would like the pricing videos
Coming up! 😊
Love the video! What are the options if you prefer not to use your home address when trying to start a LLC? I heard you can't use a Po Box is that true?
You're welcome babe! I used this service to get a virtual address physicaladdress.com/
@@SandySaintilus You're the best!
Thank you so much.
Hello!! I’m a new subscriber and I really loved this video. What was the name of the company you mentioned where you order your furniture from?
@@tiffanyperkins74 I order furniture from a lot of different companies, not just one. I don't remember which one I mentioned in this video.
hello , I would like to become an interior designer when I’m older , but I was wondering what GCSEs do I have to take? 🤍
Hmm...I'm not familiar with GCSEs. What does this stand for?
@@SandySaintilus oh , it’s stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education , but I’m asking which lessons do I need to take in school to become an interior designer!! 🤍
If you're in high school now, I have a video on classes I recommend for high school students. Art, graphic design, illustration, art history, business. These are all classes to consider
hiii , I’m 13 years old and I want to become an interior designer when I’m older , do I have to become good at maths , science etc?! x
There's light math and the science is mostly physiology for interior designers so you'll be good.
@@SandySaintilus thankyou !!

@@SandySaintilus ok thank you I’ve saved it. I’m starting a Plaster of Paris fine wall appliqués business I’ll be looking for clients but I do not want to Handel them what I’d like to do is become exclusive with two designers and two builders and that’s it. I just want to worry about the physical side of things I don’t want to deal with the client. I’ll contact you in a few months thank you.
So helpful! Thank you
