I WANT THIS SO BAD AND THIS TRACK IS REMINDING ME HOW FREAKIN COOL THIS MATCHUP WOULD BE Based Brandon, and whoever commissioned this, you have my eternal gratitude. PS: Death Battle, if you’re seeing this, please do this episode. Its a good way to cash in on Strive hype, plus its a GG returnee and a new series rep in Fate with its most recognizable mascot. Also both have 2D sprites and 3D models so animation options are great.
Ky for 2D sprites has he's old og GGXX sprites, while for 3D models, there is the Xrd, and now the Strive models. Meanwhile Artoria for 2D sprites has the Nitroplus Heroines and (the superior) Melty Blood: Type Lumine one. For the 3D she also has the Fate/Unlimited Code model, but the EXTELLA Link model is the way to go (dunno if the Grand Order Arcade is avaliable).
HOLY *CRAP* there's some *POWER* in this song. I like how at the start it begins with a relatively powerful thing to begin with, something that's expected from Brandon's songs, but then he just sets the bar to 11 and you get *slapped in the face* right away with 0:20. Brandon just asserting dominance with how intense he can make songs, and I absolutely love it. The whole entire song is extremely agressive and fast-paced, something that I really like. This also contrasts with the main "chorus" (first heard at 0:20-0:41) that's done with a violin, something that's generally associated with "softer" songs. But I feel like the contrast is exceptionally done here, none of the instruments feel alienating or alienated which gives the whole song this sort of "brutal yet knightly" atmosphere that (from my limited knowledge) fits the characters pretty well. Also going back on the chorus, *gosh* I love how it sounds. I do wish it could have been heard more than twice over the song tho, but I guess that having it repeat too often would make it overdone in a way, so I'm not complaining too much, especially since both times it's heard are different in how they're the included. The first time it's heard is like a punch to the face, "here's the chorus, here's why and how it sounds great, deal with it" while the second time is kind of like an escalation of the song, which I'd assume would translate in an escalation of the fight itself at this moment. Either way, both renditions of this "chorus" are great. I'll also note as a fun thing that the 1:08-1:13 bit (which repeats a few times) sounds a bit like Vegeta's Super Saiyan theme. But that's probably just me hearing badly or a coincidence, even if it's fun to note. Also, the ending (3:22-end of the song) is *amazing*. You first think that it'll be just some pretty generic climax with the buildup at 3:04-3:22 but Brandon knocks it out of the park again by making a complete 180 and giving a much more epic and "knightly" finale that sounds like a final sword clash between two, well, knights before one of them inevitably perishes in this honorable dual. It somehow reminds me of the final that's in Cry Havoc in how it contrasts with the rest of the song so heavily while still sounding fitting and great. If I had any sort of complaint about it, it'd be that maybe I would have enjoyed a sort of more intense end to the bit instead of the pretty "soft" ending at 3:43. But that's mostly a nitpick because it still sounds amazing. Overall an amazing job on this song. Magnificent work.
First off, I love the art, and second this is actually a pretty good matchup. So good that I'd honestly love to see it become a reality (Fate's first entry into DB and Ky getting a shot after Sol). I absolutely LOVE the guitar, especially toward the latter half of the song and toward the end. It just screams Guilty Gear! The final portion makes me picture Artoria launching Excalibur and Ky countering with Ride the Lightning...and riding it straight to victory.
Probably Artoria's best MU. I feel like Fate MUs work best when they look as one specific version of a Servant rather than try to composite multiple versions and classes into one character, which is why I'm not a fan of Artoria vs. Vader (there's also the fact that I feel like Vader has a way more appropriate Fate opponent in EMIYA anyway).
true, though the composite thing is maybe acceptable in some cases, such as being the same person with the same backstory. like some of the Artorias could be mixed, but many more couldn't, better example being the Emiyas
You did an amazing job on this track, Brandon. I love the way you incorporated Pillars of the Underworld at the start and the bits of Holy Orders in the chorus. I think I can even hear a bit of the Instant Kill theme near the end. All in all, this is an excellent track for a match that I hope becomes an official episode.

Ky do be looking like Proto Arthur. I don't have much knowledge of Guilty Gear, but I am a fate fan. We're this a real fight, I would definitely root for Artoria, but Ky might actually be on servant tiers of power, if not higher. I wouldn't know. But seeing as Saber would most likely have Avalon, Ky would need at least some level of hacks to win.

Sure this battle look nice, but I am afraid this a stomp for artoria, sure ky can take on sol, who can take on the likes of the valentines and nago, unfortunately, even with a portion of the scales of Libra, he couldn't take on i-no and this was even before she powered up, artoria however can take on the following: Gilgamesh, medusa, celeburusia, the moon cells and Attila the Hun, all of whom have power comparable to that of i-no, especially the later 2, as the moon cells have power comparable to dust of Osiris 1, as she was able to recreate her girlfriend after she died confronting a certain powerful apostle, whose own power can equate of arcruied, who is actually the larva form of archetype earth, not only that, but gil is also capable of taking down both tiamat and Gorgon, the former of which managed to be on par with someone who the moon cells and atila managed to be par with: the host of beast 6 nero

I love Guilty Gear but unless we're really lowballing Fate using only one continuity, Ky is planetary at best, along with being FTL(MFTL with a really generous feat that's definitely an outlier). Meanwhile Saber has alotta bullshit hax with both Avalon and Excalibur, and she easily scales to cosmic levels(not tier 1, that's BS, but she still rates very highly). I know there's an arguement for Low Complex Multi Ky but it seems very flawed to me. Happy Chaos, I-No, Asuka, Romeo and Delilah are the only ones with full on LCM hax, and even then I'm doubtful of Asuka and Delilah, and Romeo straight up dies when he actually uses his hax. The scales of Juno and flame of corruption can't accomplish their full destructive power without outside help.

Both are knights who have a strong sense of justice(down to the point of hypocrasy) and are part of powerful orders. Ky being the rival and sometumes a weird form of antagonist of Guilty gear. And Artoria the servant of a viraity of masters across the series, but usually a good guy. And Artoria should cleanly body due to fate cosmos being bullshit

I rather feel this way too. If anything, her character design has become the cash cow and not her actual character. Kind of frustrating to be honest. Also, yeah. I agree that she doesn't stand much of a chance against Ky, albeit this is a great match up for them.

Also, I feel as though it’s perfectly fine for Artoria to appear a lot. She’s the series’ mascot it makes sense. Her story is also complete so making new versions of her rather than develop the og is also fine imo. Plus some of them are pretty likeable. I’m happy that she gets the company money because new cool stories and games can continue to be made. Whether they’re fate related or not I’m interested to see what fanfics are better than regular fate series because the lostbelt stories are pretty good imo

The first time it's heard is like a punch to the face, "here's the chorus, here's why and how it sounds great, deal with it" while the second time is kind of like an escalation of the song, which I'd assume would translate in an escalation of the fight itself at this moment. Either way, both renditions of this "chorus" are great.
I'll also note as a fun thing that the 1:08-1:13 bit (which repeats a few times) sounds a bit like Vegeta's Super Saiyan theme. But that's probably just me hearing badly or a coincidence, even if it's fun to note.
Also, the ending (3:22-end of the song) is *amazing*. You first think that it'll be just some pretty generic climax with the buildup at 3:04-3:22 but Brandon knocks it out of the park again by making a complete 180 and giving a much more epic and "knightly" finale that sounds like a final sword clash between two, well, knights before one of them inevitably perishes in this honorable dual. It somehow reminds me of the final that's in Cry Havoc in how it contrasts with the rest of the song so heavily while still sounding fitting and great. If I had any sort of complaint about it, it'd be that maybe I would have enjoyed a sort of more intense end to the bit instead of the pretty "soft" ending at 3:43. But that's mostly a nitpick because it still sounds amazing.
Overall an amazing job on this song. Magnificent work.
First off, I love the art, and second this is actually a pretty good matchup. So good that I'd honestly love to see it become a reality (Fate's first entry into DB and Ky getting a shot after Sol).
I absolutely LOVE the guitar, especially toward the latter half of the song and toward the end. It just screams Guilty Gear! The final portion makes me picture Artoria launching Excalibur and Ky countering with Ride the Lightning...and riding it straight to victory.

Probably Artoria's best MU. I feel like Fate MUs work best when they look as one specific version of a Servant rather than try to composite multiple versions and classes into one character, which is why I'm not a fan of Artoria vs. Vader (there's also the fact that I feel like Vader has a way more appropriate Fate opponent in EMIYA anyway).

You did an amazing job on this track, Brandon. I love the way you incorporated Pillars of the Underworld at the start and the bits of Holy Orders in the chorus. I think I can even hear a bit of the Instant Kill theme near the end. All in all, this is an excellent track for a match that I hope becomes an official episode.

I love Guilty Gear but unless we're really lowballing Fate using only one continuity, Ky is planetary at best, along with being FTL(MFTL with a really generous feat that's definitely an outlier). Meanwhile Saber has alotta bullshit hax with both Avalon and Excalibur, and she easily scales to cosmic levels(not tier 1, that's BS, but she still rates very highly). I know there's an arguement for Low Complex Multi Ky but it seems very flawed to me. Happy Chaos, I-No, Asuka, Romeo and Delilah are the only ones with full on LCM hax, and even then I'm doubtful of Asuka and Delilah, and Romeo straight up dies when he actually uses his hax. The scales of Juno and flame of corruption can't accomplish their full destructive power without outside help.

Ky being the rival and sometumes a weird form of antagonist of Guilty gear.
And Artoria the servant of a viraity of masters across the series, but usually a good guy.
And Artoria should cleanly body due to fate cosmos being bullshit
