People often think of Bane as a punch first think later guy and forget that he's a genius who has bested Batman multiple times. He knew that fighting Nightwing would achieve nothing either way but wasted time when both could be saving lives
Some comics pose him as a genius, some pose him as an idiot. I guess that’s just what happens when a character is reimagined over and over by different writers.
Bane canonically dreampt of the ultimate gigachad and said "I want that" he then proceeded to become proficient in multiple strategy games, various scholarly subjects, and of course weight lifting + the art of juicing
What I find amusing is how almost all of batman's rogue gallery shows signs of humanity and a glimpse of what they could of been if things panned out differently. Bane here is a perfect example lol.
Bane was a villain, but he had his limits of "poor taste". I also think Mr. Freeze fits that description as well. He wasn't about screwing over or killing innocent people, almost all of his targets were bad people themselves or major industries that had stuff to keep himself or his wife alive.
True. I used to think why didn't Batman just kill them? But now I see some DC writers aren't interested in story progression and only want to pay rent. 😒 I mean couldn't they just replace his villains who choose to change. Like maybe somebody was inspired by them, and became a villain?
That's why he has the no killing rule. Because he sees the people they could be and tries to help them reform. Buuuuuuuuut not everyone is like that. Like a certain clown...
Bruce knows there is the potential of good in them. It's why he keeps sending them to a mental hospital, not a prison for most of his rogues. But he also knows they are all dangerous and will not do good until they choose to do so. And even then their version of it could hurt more than help. And just like here with Catman who was like "why do ya'll only treat us like villians when we were helping?!" Is surrounded by dozens of dead bodies as he says it.
If you don’t respect the guy who bested you then you are a fool. I have a soft spot when some big bad comes to the heroes city/planet and the villains and heroes team up.
I mean, you'd HAVE to respect Batman if you were relatively sane (as these 3 are). Batman has all the same tools and skills as these villains, and yet he chooses to use them to help people. With Bane specifically, he's often been posed as a parallel to Batman, who vowed to subjugate all criminals similar to how Bruce vowed to fight all criminals. He shares Batman's contempt for organized crime, but believes the only way to effectively deal with it is to control it instead of dismantle it.
I can see why, even though he gets in bane’s way he still helps people, and also wins fights against him, a guy who is physically stronger than Batman If you don’t respect a guy after that then yeah
In terms of Batman they all have massive respect for him. Joker sees him as the only man who can keep up, Riddler sees him as his greatest challenge, Deathstroke sees him as the only person to be his equal, and Bane sees him as the only being worthy of being his opponent. And to top it off all four of these have something in common, they all know that Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same person. However… Joker: Doesn’t care about the Bruce Wayne part Riddler: Too proud to accept that he’s constantly outsmarted by Bruce Wayne of all people Deathstroke: Won’t target Bruce Wayne unfairly or go after innocents out of principle. Bane: Does not give a shit.
@Yui Shishido If it was Harley Quinn canon however, Joker was extremely pissed off when he saw Batman's true identity, and even went as far as to kill Scarecrow, who unveiled him in the first place. And even he didn't find that entertaining one bit.

In such an environment a man like Bane would absolutely thrive as a sort of wasteland savior, I can't see him as a cruel guy to his own people, yet absolutely as someone brutal and extremely deadly to everyone else.
I think I read in a story where Batman is gone and all the villains took over Gotham. So Bane has to take it over by fighting them until Batman chooses up again.

Gail Simone's Secret Six run is legitimately one of the best comic book series of all time. You don't see it in this issue, but Bane's father/child dynamic with Scandal Savage is also amazing.

What makes those catman panels even better is not only is it a reference to Adam West batman, but Adam West has voiced a character called catman in fairly odd parents
Honestly Batman is the reason these super villains exist in the first place. If Batman didn't go on his self righteous crusade, none of them would be bothered to seek his attention in some twisted need to get his recognition.
Unlike Batman or other characters Bane never interacted with kids when he was one, he doesn't have any memories that he could resort in that situation.
Famous Batman Quote: "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” Here's the twist... Villains in this story: "You either die a villain or you live long enough to see yourself become the hero." They miss the Dark Knight! Even the criminals wanted "balance of justice" LOL
Bane never really had a choice to be a hero. From birth, he was a criminal forced to take his father's sentence and prison turned him into the Bane we know. And he was used as a test subject for the addictive Venom serum. His upbringing and addiction are what pushes him. But that teddy bear shows that there is a bit of light in that darkness

Secret 6 is easy one of the most unappreciated Teams in DC
To be fair, they're not called *Secret* 6 because they're well-known...
People sometimes forget villains are villains, they are evil but they have limits and morals. They are villains not monsters
I love this comic now, and I'm shocked that Ragdoll is back! I loved him in The Batman cartoon
Well, in 2018 or so they killed off Ragdoll unfortunately. Secret Six ran from 2006-2011.
1:32 "I may have broken it" made me spit out my tea.
“I shall respect your wishes” *PROCEEDS TO FUCKING CHUCK A GUY OUT A WINDOW!*
What makes those catman panels even better is not only is it a reference to Adam West batman, but Adam West has voiced a character called catman in fairly odd parents
That boi Nightwing got cake 😂
"You saved me ! You are such a big guy !"
"For you little girl"
New important survival tip for Gotham. Never ask Bane to not break your spine when next to a window.
"Hush little baby, don't say a word, Bane is gonna break a Batman's spine."
CATMAN RETURNS!!!! ADAM WEST MEOW!!!
That bit with Ragdoll at the end is a refrence. Both Catman and Bane have "become the new batman" in old comic runs
Honestly Batman is the reason these super villains exist in the first place. If Batman didn't go on his self righteous crusade, none of them would be bothered to seek his attention in some twisted need to get his recognition.
Blame the goverment not batman
Unlike Batman or other characters Bane never interacted with kids when he was one, he doesn't have any memories that he could resort in that situation.
i like this it shows that bane is respects batman one of the few villains that respect batman
This is the first I'm seeing of Ragdoll and I already love them.
wow I've never seen Bane being so nice and wholesome!
Bane: “Trick or yeet?”
Merc: “Yeet?”
Bane: *”YEET IT IS!”*
"I wonder whats the most replayed part in this wonderful story"
Ohhhh......
I effing love Rag Doll.
"He's right, lamb chop." *snap*
I cannot unhear the sound of James Adomian whenever I read Bane's lines...
Famous Batman Quote: "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”
Here's the twist...
Villains in this story: "You either die a villain or you live long enough to see yourself become the hero."
They miss the Dark Knight! Even the criminals wanted "balance of justice"
LOL
Bane never really had a choice to be a hero. From birth, he was a criminal forced to take his father's sentence and prison turned him into the Bane we know. And he was used as a test subject for the addictive Venom serum. His upbringing and addiction are what pushes him. But that teddy bear shows that there is a bit of light in that darkness
The moment Batman dies.
All his villains commit Copyright infringement 🤣
Also that double close shot!
