    Obviously this video is 2 years old but I have only just begun my rc journey and your videos, along with numerous others, have been very useful to me! Thank you sir and have a great day 😀

    Just bought a Kraton 6s after a long hiatus from RC. When do you recommend changing out the stock bearings and is there anything else to upgrade around the same time while gaining access. Also, do the bearings need to be lubed up when replacing or for general maintenance.
    Cheers!

    Hey I've watched most vids but I need to find where all the bearings are and how.to get them. I have a kit done the wheels already but none of the others yet. Stripped set screw out of one wheels though dunno how to get it out now though

    • @bournemouthrc4371
      @bournemouthrc4371  3 года назад

      There is a series on my channel of all the bearing videos. With the stripped set screw try heating it up and tapping in a torx bit. I have had luck that way before

      Yes just eyeball the front tyres then do any fine adjustment via the radio

    What size Bearing go into the from Hubs on the Kraton?

  • @andrewcross1740
    @andrewcross1740 4 года назад +1

    My idea to make wheel bearings last longer is to take out the inside seal of each bearing and pack some grease in side the housing between bearings before fitting shaft.

    • @bournemouthrc4371
      @bournemouthrc4371  4 года назад

      Ahh okay good shout, how do you re-seal them after though?

    • @andrewcross1740
      @andrewcross1740 4 года назад +1

      @@bournemouthrc4371 you can use a needle to pick the seals out, repack with grease and pop the seals back in. BUT what i am saying is take seal out one side of bearing and leave it out! Fit the bearings with the seal facing outwards to stop dirt getting in. Pack grease between the bearings then fit the shaft. This is how i will be doing mine soon as them larger bearings dont last very long.

    • @bournemouthrc4371
      @bournemouthrc4371  4 года назад

      @@andrewcross1740 ahh I see makes sense, have you tried it yet? I wonder how often you would have to re grease as you would lose some out the space between bearing and shaft. I really like the idea though I may do the same👍👍

    • @andrewcross1740
      @andrewcross1740 4 года назад +1

      @@bournemouthrc4371 Not done it yet, but will be soon. Dont think much would be lost as the only way out is like you say between shaft and bearing which is a reasonable fit anyway. Plus you can add a shim to the bearing so there is less end float between bearings and shaft hex etc (just use the same shim you use to shim the crown wheel on the diffs)
      Would love to find a way of making the CVD's sealed! got rubber boots on my vkar bison and the cvd's are a good as new still!
