- What's going on yall! Mike here happy to bring you season 8 of Game of thrones!! This season started strong- reuniting all our Allys in winterfell. Conversations are had and characters touch base for the first time in seasons. Off the rip- Sansa doesn't like Khaleesi at all. Jon and Arya share a sweet moment. Cersei plots while Theon saves Yara. Euron and Cersei bang (gross).
Jon rides a dragon, Arya flirts with Gendry, and Jamie comes back to winterfell for the first time since Season 1 episode 1. All that plus Tormund and Co. at the wall get a message from the night king. Anyways yall were so happy to be taking this ride with yall and we're almost at the end!! I don't think Cersei is inherently stupid. I just think she's entitled and full of resentment which leads her to abandon good judgement and reason. She's endlessly reckless.

Cersei is smart but she lacks the education & training about war & ruling that men get because she’s female. She definitely wouldn’t have been taught strategy & diplomacy by Tywin. She would’ve been too busy learning to dance & sew & be pretty for her future husband

It's also idiotic everyone saw him riding a dragon but no one wonders how? Only a Targaryen or of Targaryen blood can ride dragons but no one seems to care that a Stark bastard can ride one? Daenerys of all people should have know the Targaryen history about who can ride the dragons but she tells Jon sure go ahead and ride one. 😕
Dragons were a legend. Targaryeans don't exist anymore. That feels more like the perspective of the viewer than it does the view of characters within the show

It'll be his own dragon and maybe he can warg it like Ghost. Also, at this point it is the "ghost of Winterfell" mysteriously responsible for unexplained damage and noises, dead livestock and dead servants.

@@depredator16 They finished GoT and have watched all of HotD and Chernobyl on Patreon. They edit these themselves and basically Season 8 was so bad that it's been extremely difficult for them to stay motivated to get them edited. The youtube edits are much more difficult and time consuming to get done so the patreon versions go up almost immediately after they record. GoT was finished back in August. Not trying to make excuses for them or anything, but just giving a bit of background info.
Yeah, well some people can’t afford to pay for Patreon. It’s kind of sad that they’re taking so long for people out of stuck with them since the beginning.

I know how much book readers hate this show for having to listen to all of the reactors talk/make fun of Euron as being mid. He's easily one of the most interesting/terrifying characters in the books.
Arya's age was around 11 when GOT started, so she is 18 in Season 8. Gendry was 16 in Season 1, and 24 in Season 8. So 6 years apart. I back in the day had one bf 14 years older than me and a few years later one that was 11 years older. It is very tough to feel this sexual chemistry with these two, especially where we watched her grow up.

From the beginning there were lots of parallels between jon's and dany's stories. Both were somewhat outcast from great houses, both had magic connexions with animals (dragon/wolf), both become leaders of foreign people seen as savages (wildlings/dothraki)...
It was obvious they would either be lovers or enemies.
Also they both experienced things that would have caused most other people to cease to exist but by supernatural powers they survived (Standing in the middle of fire and not burning/stabbed in the heart but resurrected)
The both also lost their (real) parents at an early age.

Something I think that people forget is that the hundred of storylines and characters that die off throughout don't get replaced for the last couple seasons. It's be boring paced the same or they'd have to introduce a few more URon add ins a last minute, with no purpose or attachment. They simply rushed things.

21 months between the end credits after they broke through the wall and this episode.
I thought it was the best show ever when it came out, but you have to remember there was a very long wait between the last seasons and the interest in the outcome dwindled among many fans. You guys are lucky to not have to wait years fir another season. Maybe that's a better way to watch it. All I know is as fans we got dicked in real time.
Edit: I enjoy season 8 more than I did the first time I saw it but it still doesn't redeem the lazy writing for this season. Especially when they had an extra 2 year break to come up with literally anything other than just a quick wrap up.
I agree, season 8 is easier to tolerate on a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th lol) watch thru. I think it’s because you already know how far it is from whatever kind of ending you were expecting. And the dropped plots and wasted character arcs are less jarring when you know how it turns out

For the record Arya is 18 on last season (real life actress was 21-22 at the time). Gendry is 23 (the actor was quite older than that too, 31). A decent difference but far from anything unnatural. You guys are kinda off on the age guessing game, so don't feel bad about it all. Some women are simply petite style, its just different, it doesn't make them kids. You need to take into account that characters age roughly 1 year per season to follow the story.
Yeah its funny after next episode when it aired, one of the biggest searches was for Arya's actress age! haha, she still has that childlike look to her since she didn't get very tall and she still has that baby-face. She doesn't look too much different than when the show first started but keep in mind that was a good like 8 years since the show began until the final season.
But yeah even if the character was 15-16, thats still past "womanhood" in this type of setting. Remember that Sansa bled when she was 14 or 15 and she freaked out knowing that Joffrey could now get her pregnant if he wanted to.
Yeah and then there was Tommen and Margaery. That was bad too agewise. In hindsight Arya one was the most normal of them all. @@RyoHazuki224

- I'm gonna say it again, I have never seen so much love for Cersei like this before. Things that happened to her, some of them are her fault. Jon and friends tried to be civilized with her and look what she did. Yeah, her kids died but why did they die? Also I think the Starks lost more. Let's not forget about that.

You missed the point. Throughout the show, we experienced events from the perspective of the main characters. We knew everything Ned knew, and we didn't know Littlefinger's plans, just as Ned didn't. Now the point of view is reversed: we knew more or less what Baelish was about to do, but we didn't know that Sansa, Arya, and Bran were setting him up.. This makes no sense and was just done by the writers for the surprise effect. As far as I know, Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran) confirmed that there is a deleted scene in where the three Stark kids were figuring out what Baelish did in the past, thanks to Bran's abilities, and were going to put him on a trial.
You guys would love 'The Last Kingdom' please consider doing it when you have space for a new show maybe after House o dragon?
The Last Kingdom has 5 amazing seasons with great story lines and brilliant characters you will love & others that you will hate and at the end of the 5 seasons there is a feature length movie to finish the whole story.

The whole reason he was following tyrion when cat captured him was beacuse he knew "lannisters shit gold". What's tyrion gonna offer? double what the queen of the seven kingdoms can offer? nah. Bronn's got plenty of friends. Little shiny golden ones, sitting in chests, given to him by the queen...

It's still sad that in actual fact in the books Euron is anything but basic. He's way more complex, terrifying, maniacal, mysterious and twisted villain than Ramsey and Joffrey. He was a step up. But in the show it's like they just thought "we can't be bothered creating another interesting villain so we'll just make him seem like an irrelevant annoyance that adds nothing to the show" 😞
i HATE what they did to Euron in the show when in the books he really is a villain to be reckoned with. It’s almost like D&D thought “Hmm, we haven’t really had any jesters in the show so let’s make this guy a total fool.”
@@cynza79 To be fair, since the last two books aren't done we have no idea the scope of Euron's arc and where he would end up and what his role is to play in everything. If the show gave him a deeper character arc like in the books, that could have probably gave the show a whole half a season of content maybe more. But also keep in mind that at this point when there's not many story paths to follow, where everything is just two major stories coming to a point, if you add in a third story of Euron and whatever he's doing, that kinda gives the other two stories extra time to dick around. Thats why we had Dany over in Esos for a billion years dealing with slavers, thats why we had The Hound and Arya walking the whole length of Westeros for like a season and a half almost, thats why we went nearly a whole season without even seeing Bran touching wood under tree roots, thats why we had Cersei playing puppeteer with the High Sparrow until he turned it all on her, etc, thats why we had the Night King spend 8 years to wander around even though "winter is coming" for all this time. When you have stories going on, you can afford to let the characters breathe.
At this point in the story, everything is coming to a final point, so to do a late in the game intro to a new villain even if you make him bad-ass, well at that point its just rinse and repeat. Got a villain, deal with him, another villain, deal with him, etc. When the main villain of the White Walkers have been out here since day one and its just time to get to it.
@@RyoHazuki224 In the show Euron is introduced in S6 E2. I know that’s still pretty late in the show for a new character to get a full & meaningful arc but there was still enough time for them to have done something more with his character than have him pop back up at the kingsmoot with claims about what he’ll do with his big c0ck then disappear for 5 entire episodes, only to come back season 6 & be an even bigger idiot. I know it’s only one of many problems that came about from D&D having no more books to draw story inspiration from when they stopped consulting with GRRM & started their sprint to end the show ASAP. It’s just a shameful waste of an opportunity to have a truly terrifying villain instead of the clownish fvckboi we end up with.

Crying tears of joy at y'all recognising Sansa is a mother. Like, she's not playing season one Sansa kiddie games easily swayed by compliments, she's grown as hell and rightfully wary of Danaerys. And her question to Jon ("Did you bend the knee to save the North or because you love her?") is actually so astute when we as the audience remember Danaerys had already pledged to fight for the North THEN Jon bent the knee. Because he saw she was in pain and he loved her.
Arya and Sansa coming out of the previous seven seasons as the least trusting to anyone without the last name Stark and trusting each other implicitly just warms me because HELL YEAH STARK SISTERS FOR LIFE! Arya's the muscle and Sansa's the brains: "What y'all finna eat? How are we gonna feed two adult dragons IN THE NORTH? You grew up with Cersei do you really believe she's gonna help you?" She's asking logical questions.

The next episode has one of most favorites scenes in the series. Unfortunately it goes down hill after that. Episode 3 to the end.

Honestly the people who criticize season 8 would have criticized it no matter what. I haven’t seen season 8 for a couple months now but I remember it fondly. It tied up loose ends pretty nice. They have given us 7 other seasons of talking and schemes 3 episodes of some talking but awesome scenes of dragons and battles was nice. Season 8 wasn’t as bad as people make it seem. They still gave us GOT moments
I agree. I actually enjoyed season 8 alot. Were some things rushed, yes but that doesn't mean it's bad. The writers still put love into the final season and ended it how they saw it.
No dude, it is really is THAT bad, don't sugarcoat it. I agree a certain disappointment was inevitable and D&D couldn’t have possibly satisfied every fan no matter what. But nobody expected this shit show of an ending. The writing is so utterly lazy and it's so devoid of the passion and care D&D used to put into the earlier seasons. There is no justification, because it has literally been proven that D&D intentionally rushed the show and half-assed the ending, they practically admitted it, so how can you defend that? You can't.

Great visuals, great music, great cinematography, great editing and the shittiest writing ever. Everyone was passionate about it except the two idiots that were in charge. Their minds were occupied by star wars and fame.
@@abdullahkuzhan7247 For me, the worst thing was the continuous call-backs to previous seasons, same lines and all, nothing original. The characters felt shallow, and the one-liners felt SO forced. Barely no dialogue at all. People were just posing and giving looks. They didn't feel like the same characters at all, just dolls with expensive versions of outfits they wore in earlier seasons.
really because i can't name one character who ended the season IN CHARACTER
not one besides ~maybe the first 3 epsiodes for some characters~
beyond that? they just shit on every character involved
i could write about how every character was ooc but that would be a really long comment and they aren't even to the finale yet so a lot of it would be spoilers
