I'm a member there and Riko and his team run a fantastic group over there. I love the Neo-Geo and I've been playing their library of games for 54 years. The first game that I ever played was Magician Lord in a local Dairy Queen restaurant in Paramus, New Jersey here in the United States. Since then, I've been hooked ever since. Thanks Anthony, Neo Geo is awesome. I wanted to do a top games list, but honestly it's too hard to compile a list, so I was so happy to find one that the community voted on. Thank you and the community, please keep up the awesome work you guys do.
That's a great list of games you cant go wrong with NeoGeo. i was lucky enough to have one back in the day and yeah the console was way ahead of anything else at the time, you did get the full arcade experience tho you did pay for it but i loved it.
Garou and Last Blade 2 are the graphically most impressive games from SNK :) Speaking of which, Last Blade 2 shows up twice on this list, perhaps the first Last Blade was meant to be the one to show up on the list first?
I use to have the U.S cart for MOTW CIB extremely rare I would love to have it now just for the pure value of it but again just happy I can play it and enjoy it in such fine fashion. Very beautiful game definitely one of the prettiest on the Neo.
@PixelCherryNinja I just finished up a Neo Session on my AP you can really pretty things up playing with the display settings I'm not crazy about CRT it really darken things to much on most cores I play with the different screen size and most look better to me if I put the sharpness at +2 Instead of +3 I'm really happy with how much they keep improving the AP experience. I would love to get a Mister in 2024 but if not I'm definitely having fun with the AP especially after adding the dock.

Nice to see Nightmare In The Dark made it. Kind of a short game and not too difficult, but still fun, especially in co-op. Also nice to see SamSho II rated high. Solid list overall, little surprises. The games missing for me are Samurai Shodown V Special, Fatal Fury 3, Sengoku 2, Crossed Swords II, Ninja Commando, Street Slam, Puzzle Bobble, Blue's Journey, Thrash Rally and Metal Slug 3.
Takes me back to when I owned my Neo Geo Gold system. I'm so happy to be able to play these games on my Analogue Pocket Via the dock with my 8bitdo Arcade Stick or my Neo Geo Pro Arcade Stick. We definitely have it made when it comes to reliving systems that have come and gone in our collections. Definitely some great games on this video.
Idk if I'm the only one but "twinkle star sprites"(no11) made a lot of funny memories for me and it made me love arcade games (just like the kof97 [in pixel art] ❤)
Samurai shodown 4 would be my number 1 personally it’s my favorite snk fighting game by far and I believe the most fun samsho game in the series. I personally like real bout special and real bout 2 more than mark of the wolves but I can see why people love that game and have it at number 1. As far as non snk fighting games are concerned metal slug 3 is as good as you can get from a run n gun game

My top 10 arcade fighting games of all time in no particular order, they are all awesome Super Street Fighter II Turbo world Mortal Kombat II Garou Mark of the Wolves Samurai Shodown V Special King of Fighters 2002 Marvel Vs Capcom Capcom Vs SNK 2 Killer instinct Soul Caliber Tekken III
It's a difficult list to put together, for me to pick, it'd be impossible. I was glad to go with a community voted list. Remember, everyone's taste is different.
@PixelCherryNinja it's surprising. There's a Facebook page about Neo Geo and half the people in it are creaming their jeans about the SVC Chaos port to PS4. Capcom got the upper hand in that deal 100% and showed the world who made better fighting games. I'd honestly take Breakers or even World Heroes Over SVC Chaos, it's that bad. But I'm glad others enjoy it! Was just, a bit of a shock to see it. That's all.
@PixelCherryNinja I tried so so hard to like it. And it's really expensive too. So it's hard to justify the expensive. I find the graphics bland and the music mediocre. Of course st this point in time SNK game HEMMORAGING money. And obviously bigger budgets went to other priorities. Perhaps I'm being to harsh. Matrimelee is another really hard game and I'm head over heels for it. So I'm not sure what my deal is.
@@anthonywilson6611 there's nothing wrong with your assessment. When the game came out, I was just as critical. Trying it again in my mid 40s, I developed a liking of the game, but only against the CPU for a bit of fun. I'd never play this against another human.
Really controversial top, specially the fighting games haha. For example there is samurai shodow IV (considered one of the worst) and not samsho 2 or 5 on top
Windjammers over Samurai Shodown 2 is laughable, and as great as the art is in the Metal Slug games, the gameplay in them just isn't that great. The shooting is clunky and restricted (there isn't even real diagonal shooting in them--the NES Contra had this). There's zero level design in them. You basically just go right in all but a few vertical stages here and there. I'd take Gunstar Heroes and Contra 3 over any Metal Slug game. Those are actually well designed run n' gun games that understand the "run" part of the genre. Metal Slug gets way more credit than it deserves because of its art.

These neo geo devs had super powers that only perhaps sega arcade devs could match? 90's arcade scene was incredible.
Neo Geo games were like games on steroids.

Metal Slug 3 was the best, I have played and beaten all of the games aside from the PS2 one and 3 still remains the Pinnacle for the series.
I'm most familiar with part 1 and 2.

It's definitely a difficult list to compile. Metal Slug 3 is on the list. Sengoku games would definitely be on my list.
