The Warsaw Uprising commenced on August 1, 1944, and concluded on October 2 that same year. This was a major insurrection by the Polish Resistance against Nazi Germany to liberate Warsaw. It is estimated that about 16,000 members of the Polish Resistance were killed, while 150,000-200,000 civilians perished, mostly through mass executions. There were about 8,000 German casualties. You are the only modern music he listens to, and he wanted me to thank you for letting him continue to enjoy your music as he finds more of it!
Reading Polish history I found myself asking, again and again, “Holy shit, how can Poland as a country still exist?” Because again and again, they were put through indescribable hardships. Again and again, they were beaten and all but destroyed. Again and again, they were put through hell on earth. However, again and again the Polish people stood back up. Again and again, they spat defiantly in the eyes of the ones who thought they could conquer them. Again and again, the Polish people rose from the ashes of their homes stronger than ever before. I know that there’s stiff competition, but I honestly think that the Polish people may be the toughest people in the world.
It’s so sad we 🇬🇧 went to war for Poland but failed to help Warsaw just 5 years later out of fear of the Soviets. Thank you Poland 🇵🇱 for your help in breaking enigma, without Polish efforts it may never have happened. 🇵🇱

@@franktuminski8460 No one can ever deny the courage, the determination and the accomplishments of the Poles in the War. They fought beyond even the War, with their Government-in-Exile keeping the torch of a free Polish Republic alive for 50 years.
78 years ago, 50 thousand men, women and children fought, 10 thousand died side by side, 200 thousand civilians was murdered, the city was flattened, they did a worthy sacrifice, fighting for their freedom, always remember of those who fought for your country
I just want the fighting to end. My love to all of you wonderful people across the world. The Polish side of my family came to the States in the 1800's, and every time I study Polish history, I weep that I was not there to help. Not that I would have done much in the grand scheme of things, but no country or nation deserves what happened to Poland. I just want the fighting to stop.
It never will. As long as things remain finite, as long as resources for life remain sparse and valuable beyond comprehension, so to will War and conflict endure. Basically, as long as there is something to fight over the fighting will never end. And this has less to do with Mankind being some ultimate evil (its not, people need to quit that nihilistic bedwetting nonsense) and more to do with life itself forever being finite in this vast universe. Life is chaos and conflict from which one can only barely forge some semblance of order and security. Even if men lay down their arms and embrace each other, there will always be something else to battle.

I had a layover in Warsaw a few years ago and had a chance to explore the city. It was the weekend after Easter Sunday. The hush over the city, how clean it is, how they take care of everything was something that left an impression. Knowing how the city was destroyed by the Nazis and the Russians sitting across the river, waiting for their chance... how the people fought, the number of people who gave their lives. So sad and yet so inspiring. Calling Warsaw - Warszawo Walcz!

@@azzeenn This line refers to the russian army now technically allied to Poland(many people forget that russia invaded poland in alliance with germany , occupied the eastern part of it and thwarted any hope for the defense near romanian border that was planned by polish govt , and then murdered tens of thousands of polish officers and intellectuals while deporting masses of people to siberia where many died aswell) was pushing in its offensive and was on the other side of ther vistula river but completely stopped the offensive so that the Uprising would be destroyed by the germans , they also didnt allow supply planes to go from their territory so the small amount that allies tried to drop had to fly from italy making it very ineffective. Part of the polish army that was organised withing the russian army(from those same people deported to siberia) tried on their own to aide those in Warsaw but unsupported they were unsuccesful. Also touches on how after germany was defeated Poland was betrayed again by the west who let soviets take over our country , imposed communism and enslaved us for decades , after that the people that were in the Polish Resistance were hunted down , tortured and murdered by the NKVD as they opposed the russian invaders , that was the fate of Witold Pilecki for example. Sabaton, I just want to thank you so much for making these lyrics videos for your songs. My dad absolutely loves the history you guys teach, but his hearing is failing, so these videos are a godsend for him! You are the only modern music he listens to, and he wanted me to thank you for letting him continue to enjoy your music as he finds more of it!
Thank you so much for sharing this and for your support guys
I believe sheer spite has something to do with it, no matter how hard one hits them, they will not accept defeat because f**k the enemy.
It’s so sad we 🇬🇧 went to war for Poland but failed to help Warsaw just 5 years later out of fear of the Soviets. Thank you Poland 🇵🇱 for your help in breaking enigma, without Polish efforts it may never have happened. 🇵🇱
The media tries to take this acomplishment from Poland. They try to deny that Poland had taken any part in decoding enigma
Thank you for bringing to the attention of breaking the Enigma by 3 Polish Mathematicians not British. Even at the present time, Brits keeping quiet and keeping this historical fact from the general public. Thank you, Poland for such a great contribution.

Warszawo, walcz! Love from Brazil, Keep being the gates of western culture!
It's awesome that you remember things like where does your family come from. Especially when they emigrated more than 2 centuries ago.
@@furyn5081 Some sides of my family kept better records than others. The Irish side has a family tree that has over three hundred years of our history, and while some branches have fallen out of contact, we do know that we have something like a hundred living members right now. I know I have Polish family back east, but the French side is officially extinct as 6 years ago. That's just on my Dad's side. My mother's side is a tangled web of lies and bare half-truths, and while I keep in contact with some of them, there are others whom I will never speak with again. Goes to show how big a family one really has, yes?
First and last sentence.. me too, friend, me too. I'm sick of wars!
