    ========= 40:1 LYRICS =========
    Baptised in fire.
    Forty to one
    So silent before the storm
    Awaiting command
A few has been chosen to stand
    As one outnumbered by far
    The orders from high command
    Fight back, hold your ground!
    In early September it came
A war unknown to the world
No army may enter that land
That is protected by Polish hand
Unless you are forty to one
Your force will soon be undone
    Baptised in fire
    Forty to one
    Spirit of spartans
    Death and glory
    Soldiers of Poland
    Second to none
Wrath of the Wehrmacht brought to a halt
The 8th of September it starts
    The rage of the Reich
A barrage of mortars and guns
Stand past, the bunkers will hold
The captain has pledged his life
    I’ll face my fate here!
    The sound of artillery strike
    So fierce
    The thunder of guns
So come, bring on all that you’ve got
Come hell, come high water, never stop
Unless you are forty to one
Your lives will soon be undone
    Baptised in fire
    40 to 1
    Spirit of spartans
    Death and glory
    Soldiers of Poland
    Second to none
Wrath of the Wehrmacht brought to a halt
    Always remember, a fallen soldier
Always remember, fathers and sons at war
    Always remember, a fallen soldier
Always remember, fathers and sons at war
    Always remember, a fallen soldier
    Always remember, buried in history
No vermin may enter that land
That is protected by Polish hand
Unless you are forty to one
Your force will soon be undone
    Baptised in fire
    Forty to one
    Spirit of spartans
    Death and glory!
    Soldiers of Poland
    Second to none
Wrath of the Wehrmacht brought to a halt
    No, no, no

This looks like the lyric video for a romantic ballad, not a metal song. I definitely prefer The Red Baron's and The Attack of The Dead Men's lyric videos for example because crap actually moved at the speed of the song.

We gotta respect the Poles man. Even outnumbered 40:1 as Sabaton said survived for 5 weeks, with basically no airforce and no armour too. All they had was their INSANE Anti Tank guns and the will to exist. The Polish soldiers held bravely against the might of the Wehrmacht and the Soviet army, waiting for Allied support. It never came. Meanwhile in 1940, the French AND British survived for only 6 weeks, with way more troops than Poland, way more Planes and way more armour. The Polish people have always been pressured by other European nations around them, and every time they fought bravely, tooth and nail until every soldier fell. Respects to Poland. They stood up to evil and their sacrifice was never forgotten. Respect to all Poles reading this. Polska na zawsze!!

My great grandfather Bruno Wodger.Polish soldier during the 1939 German invasion.Ended up in a mental institution in Australia where he weaved baskets & did leatherwork.I never met you but am full of respect.See you & my hero Winston Churchill on the other side.I pray a victory for our Ukrainian friends too.War is hell & takes a toll on not just the shoulders but civilians too.

The best tribute to Poland's Thermopylae you will ever find. And an early sign of the sheer fortitude, bravery, and will that Poland would display in the weeks, months, and years to come.

There are lots more battles that you can name polish Thermopylae. For example battle of Chodów where 400 polish cavalrymen (300 light cavalrymen and 100 winged hussars) beaten 40,000 ottomans (some sources say that there was from 35,000 even up to 60,000)

At the part where the song says "Always remember, buried in history" the way it's sang, I always thought it said "Always remember, you're reading history" which I think is also a really powerful message.

The fallen soldier I remember was my neighbor whilst my family was stationed in Germany. CW5 John Pratt of the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade was an Apache pilot shot down in the later years of Afghanistan. He is survived my his wife and daughter, who now live in the UK where she and he are from.

The Poles were incredibly brave in World War II. Even after the country was occupied the Polish didn't surrender and would continue to fight throughout Europe, in the West and the East.
I wonder what it would be like as a Pole to see Warsaw fall in 1939, then in 1945 to see the 1st Polish Army enter Berlin with the Reds, fight through the German capital, and win.
Must have been quite a feeling to see, after all the evil Germany inflicted on the Polish, the flag of Poland flying over Berlin with the flag of the USSR.
