- In this quick video I wanted to get out and wish everyone well during these difficult times, plus give those isolated in their homes a few shots of the countryside. As soon as the restrictions are lifted we will start to get out and use the new wood for reviews, overnighters, and all the other things that we get up to. I agree, nature has always been the thing that makes me feel better. In fact the guy who owns the woodland runs a charity called Healing through nature. They often take groups out that are suffering with depression and other mental health needs and the lift that they get from spending time in the fresh air and countryside beats a lot of meds that they are on. I saw on the news that they have been turning people away from the countryside. Telling them to go back home and stay indoors as camping isn't classed as isolation. Hi Jerry, I hope you have been keeping well mate 👍. Yeah it is typical mate. I have a new wood to use, time off from work and it is sunny and warm out.......... where are we, stuck in the house lol. Hopefully this virus thing passes us quickly and we can all get back to normal. I can't wait for 3 ply velvet toilet paper again lol 🧻 . I just had a vision of you knocking up a Bushcraft Coffin out of a bit of old Birch, build it up over a couple of trips using your carving and woodwork skills. Then do an overnighter in it and scare the crap out of anyone passing through the woods. Great location Mark, looks like a great prospect. Stay safe in these strange times we find ourselves. Yes sorry about that Mark, but as you quite rightly say in another vid the stove works regardless of how you load and light but probably not as efficiently but perfectly okay for a brew or three 😊. Ironic we can isolate ourselves in the woods and we have to be home don’t you think? All a bit mad at the moment, I could have spent the last three weeks in my wood without seeing another soul except when I needed to shop! Enjoy your new wood Mark,
folk often ask how do I get a wood to go play in and I always say nothing is free, there is always work to do in a wood as you clearly are aware LOL now go get the timber for his log burner lol

Our family is doing well so no worries there. Sorry to hear that your Prime Minister has caught this virus. He does seem to be healthy enough to ride it out though. There have been 3 cases so far in the town we live in, at least one of which is a member of a near by church. Praying for this thing to blow over quickly. As you know, it's all in God's hands.
It's always nice to hear from you as well brother. I guess we have plenty of time now to meditate on God's word. Maybe some good will come of this.

Just wanna take up the woodland burials. We have a place quite close to us that’s the same. People plant certain trees around a plaque and they have a place to go when they sprinkle ashes.

When all this crap dies down let me know and I'll nip over for an overnighter and get two days graft in. Do some shelter building and furniture stuff. We would be able to get some good stuff done. I made a vid this morning in my back garden but I've fired it off 😃. Just didnt feel right lol. I like to be out in the forest etc when I do any filming. Anyway mate, that was a nice chilled out video . You looked relaxed and mellow 🙂. Was nice to see you wipe your knife on your pant leg lol 😃😃. I usually use the sleeve of my cammo jacket 😉. Hi Carl, I hope you are all keeping well mate. Yeah, I managed to get permission to use the woods by mistake lol. I do some volunteering work for the couple who own it, and I mentioned in passing I was looking for a new area to camp in and do videos etc. It turned out that they owned a wood and he said that I could use it for all the help over the winter time. It's typical that all this has kicked off now and I can't really get down to it unless by car. Yeah the wood you have found looks great. I know how hard it can be to get permission from a land owner. Try sending a few letters or emails to some of you local land owners. I found the farmers and estate managers in Devon were always friendly enough. Liked the med. kits one absolutely essential bit of kit and looks like your well covered with your kits, makes mine look minimalistic lol. looks like a great spot Mark, i got a wood gas stove a couple of years ago and I've never used it its still shining like a new penny i always just grab one of the bushboxes I'll need to give it a go when Corona permits. atb Colin.

You should give the wood gas stove a blast, they are a great piece of kit. Mine could do with a clean, the ash pan is tight when trying to push it down. Take care during these crazy times Colin... all the best, Mark 😀.

At least you can get 3 meals out of them for £10 I wish I had won the lottery...... I'm still waiting to get paid lol. Hi Scott, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. Typical, as soon as I was given permission to use the woods, the lockdown came in. As soon as they are lifted I will get out an make some good use out of the area. I usually wear the double fronted Carharrt work pants. The pair in the video are called the Multi pocket tech pants. They can be heavy and warm in the summer, but they are very durable. Thanks again Scott, all the best, Mark :)

I am lucky I only live 5 minutes away from the Peak District in Yorkshire and love experimenting in the woods I can't believe I've been opening ration packs with a short spoon long way up lol and sing your video just made me smile say it was that simple as well meanwhile take care kind regards Scott

Hi Rich, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. It was a kind offer allowing me to use their land and woods. It happened by chance. I have been doing some voluntary work for their charity over the winter and I mentioned in passing that I could do with a new wood to use. He turned around and said that he had bought one and wasn't using it, so it was free to use. I will still use the other wood that I have been using from time to time once the work stops. The woods across from the fishery are also having work done in them. That is the problem over here. Most of the large woodlands are commercial, so they are always cutting and replanting. I am planning to head over there once we can get back out. It is a 120 mile round trip, so I tend to use it when I am over in Wales for a few days. I got laid off from work again last week, so I will have to wait until I return. I hope life is going OK over there Rich. I saw the other day the NY has been hit quite hard, so I thought about you when I was reading the article. It is a tough time for most at the moment. Sorry to hear that Shaun.... it's a bummer mate. I was only back at work for 2 weeks after been laid off for the winter. They said on the radio that people houses are having the biggest make overs in years. People have got time on their hands, and putting it to good use. I have got some garden furniture that needs re-oiling..... that is my exciting weekend lol. I hope you manage to get work sorted soon mate or hopefully they keep you on and pay that 80% wage. I spoke to my gaffer last night and he said there won't be any money until the end of April. No food, no money.... killer bug on the loose... who would of thought it in little old Britain. The wood is England, not too far from home. I travel to Wales most days for work (once I can go back after the virus), so I usually spend a lot of time over there during the spring and summer. Hi G P, many thanks for watching my friend 👍. They owners brought it a few years to use for woodland burials but they have been too busy to use it for that reason. So they said I could use it for the channel and for camping etc. It is private, but there is a path that runs around the perimeter which is public access. @@markbailey2981 Nice of them. By woodland burials what exactly do you mean? Yup all is well. Our country is on lockdown with only essential services allowed but no unnecessary commute so I am waiting for it to pass to head outdoors.
@@us24575 I know how you feel.... they are saying it could be up to 6 months before all the restrictions are lifted over here. Woodland burials are instead of been buried in a traditional cemetery. I'm not sure if bodies can be buried or if it is just ashes and earns after a cremation. It seems to be getting more popular. At this rate, I might dig myself a hole there lol.
