it doesnt apply yet to snowboarding but I'm a skiier and I have mine paired with Carv so everytime I get on a lift it starts playing back things i can improve on for the next run. It would be cool if they come out with a version for snowboarding.

@@Phoxinsocks@Phoxinsocks everyone learns different. It definitely refined my skiing. It rates each run with a number to so it kind of makes it a challenge.

Been using Cardo for a couple years now. I started with the Pack Talk ski and now have the outdoor. They both work great I think the audio quality was a little better with the packtalk ski sicne the mic is right by your mouth but non the less the outdoor works. The pack talk ski looked a little rediclous multiple times I had people ask me if i was skiing or flying a helicopter 😂 We love being able to talk to each other going down the slopes we can let each other know where were at or if someones bombing down behind us we can let each other know. I'm not really one to listen to music while im out there but others in the group do and all love it. The range is pretty solid depending how many you have in a group but for the most part its going to be line of sight. Just from a group prespective I find that any more then 3 of 4 people in a group it gets a little too crowed. I guess that will really depend on whos in your group.

This system looks great! They recently announced a feature for other models that allows you to record the intercom using the phone app. I can't find whether the Cardo Packtalk Outdoor has this capability. Did you have to do anything special to record the intercom audio or were you able to do this through the Cardo app?

If the app is anything like the cardo pack talk edge for motorcycles you can now record your conversation in the app.

I was really excited for this as I've been looking for a communication method for me and my friends on the mountain - sadly, its reliance on data over the phone means it wont work for me as our usual mountain has 0 signal. Can't even text sometimes...

I have a question : is it bad to skit on the slopes by throwing out your back leg ? Because I hear a lot of times that carving is best, but then how do you stop ? It's very confusing and I don't end up doing the right thing.
You are talking about a speed check style turn vs an edge carve, right? theya re two different techniques you can use depending on the situation. Example, if you are in a very tight cat walk and you are not great at fast quick turns or sometimes there is someone in the way, the best way to manage that situation is to speed check (back leg).
The edge carve, where you bite your edge in to make a turn is considered as the "correct" way to make a turn, it looks nicer, and that is usually used when the hill is wide open. Once you get pretty good at it you should be able to tighten the carves up to small ones when needed, sometime even hooping from one edge to the other. To stop in a carve look up the hill and your shoulder will follow and your "S" turns to a "C" and you will stop. To "progress" you should be able to do both effectively as it lends itself to board control. In the end, do what you can to have fun and enjoy the ride.

The video audio came from my camera mic but the in person audio is basically the same!

Nope. Too expensive and you need phone svc. I have 5 in my family and at 250 bucks a piece is not feasible. I just have small Motorola talk abouts on our helmets and we can stay in contact just fine. This is a nice toy if you have the extra cash to toss at it.
