    @margovallen friend, im not sure which youtube video you got your information from, but you are wrong. the sda church embraces people of other churches and as an adventist, i can say with great confidence that there will be people in heaven that never heard of the Sabbath.there will be people in heaven that never stepped foot in an adventist church.so before you go casting stones,please at least try to get some accurate information based on truth and not what you see on the internet.God bless .

    I am in the AZ conference and know the pastor of the Camelback church well. He was there in 2000 and is still there. Paul Harvey was never baptized as an Adventist. His wife was. They would attend Camelback when they were in town. Paul was a supporter and after his wife died, he made a gracious contribution to the church at camelback to upgrade their sound system. But he was not an Adventist even though I would like to say he was.

      +Ginger Ashford-Tansil Yes Ginger, visit an Adventist Church. The Bible says to "test all things and hold on to what is good" 1 Thessalonians 5:21. Try it out and see if it's biblical for yourself. Don't let any of us tell you what to believe or not to believe. Use your own bible and test things. There are other "famous adventists" like Dr Ben Carson, Angus Jones, and Barry Black (Senate Chaplain). Also, the little bushman who starred in "The Gods Must Be Crazy" was one of the first Kalahari Bushman converts to the Seventh-day Adventist church in that area. Once you visit, let me know how it went!

    The special part was the phrase, "joined with Christ by decree", meaning it was ordained since creation for Mary to play a part in Christ's role to mankind. The same could be said of John the Baptist etc, but only one could have been chosen to be Christ's mother. De Ligori is a bit over the top for me, that's the beauty of Catholicism; our faith has already been established by the Apostles and Christ's church. We don't need modern day prophets or Doctors of Law to instruct us.

    6. as far as "mary worship", YES RCC/pope Benny16 on vatican website plainly admits mary has been worshiped by RCC all along:
    "Archaeological research has shown that from TIME IMMEMORIAL the site (Shrine of Mary's House - Hill of the Nightingale) has been a place of MARIAN WORSHIP..." which is "also dear to Muslims..."
    it would be dear to muslims as well since RCC created islam in the first place.
    friend, if you will but open your eyes to truth, you will see what the RCC really is.

    They're not in "full" communion due to the filioque and the role of the Pope. The Pope lifted the ex-communication from the Orthodox in the 1980's. Since they recognize each other's Sacraments (Mysteries), they at least have partial unity with the exception of the Eucharist. Remember, Paul argued with Peter, James and Barnabas, Mark too. Jesus prayed that "all might be as one". We should want the same.

    5. Liguori is a highly prized author on the subject of mary & is quoted very often even by pope benny on the vatican website. there are only a handful of RCC "doctors" of the church, so it is a very high honor to be made a doctor of RCC. Pope Pius VII even had Liguori's 3 fingers cut off b/c he "wrote so well":
    “Let those three fingers that have written so well for the honor of God, of the Blessed Virgin and of religion, be carefully preserved and sent to Rome”
    very strange.

    I wonder whether you could try to answer a question about your belief system. Do you think the majority of adventists consider themselves fundamentalists?

    • @LarrenCole
      @LarrenCole  7 лет назад +1

      @ Roger; I would say, yes. Just like Martin Luther would have to say yes to a question like that. Fundamentalism says yes to a literal interpretation on the Bible.

    • @rogermetzger7335
      @rogermetzger7335 7 лет назад

      My parents were members of the Seventh-day Adventist organization before I was born. They did not teach me that involvement in the political arena was “wrong” but they did teach me that Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world” and that it is, therefore, inappropriate to try to use civil governments to promote theism and particularly inappropriate to use civil governments to enforce religious prohibitions.
      Even before September 11, 2001, I often heard and read the word “fundamentalists” employed to describe professed Christians who tried to do exactly what my parents had taught me is inappropriate for Christians. Since that date, that same word has often been employed to describe Muslims who use or try to use civil governments (or other forms of coercion) to enforce religious prohibitions.
      The reason for the question I asked earlier is that, beginning about 2008, I have met a higher and higher percentage of members of the SdA organization who are “fundamentalists” by that definition.
      If a person prefers to use a more narrow definition of “fundamentalism” (using a strictly literal interpretation of scripture), that definition has its own problems.
      On a scale from left to right where the “left” consider almost all of scripture to be merely allegorical and the right consider everything in scripture to be literal, my position is WAY to the right. Not at the extreme right, however, because I don’t know of a way to consider EVERYTHING in the Bible to be literal. I consider the Christian church to literally be modern Israel but I don’t consider the bosom of Abraham to be a literal reference to the bosom of Abraham, for example. And I’m not the first Christian to point out that, while Jesus did say, “I am the door”, he is the door only in a spiritual or allegorical sense.
      The question is how far a person should go in the process trying to impose his “literalism” on other people.
      I’d like to believe that there are still thousands--perhaps tens of thousands--of adventists in the United States who subscribe to what my parents taught me. But if the word, “fundamentalism” means (or implies) the application of biblical literalism to the political arena, i.e. if the majority of adventists in the United States are now in favor of attempting to use the political process for the purpose of remaking society according to their (and my) idea of the ideal, I need to find some way or ways to distance myself from that kind of thinking.
      Any suggestions?

    • @LarrenCole
      @LarrenCole  7 лет назад +1

      Your balance of literal vs symbolic is a healthy balance. If fundamentalism means that Abraham's bosom is literal, then SDA's are not fundamentalists. SDA's have an understanding of Revelation like no other people have. There is a balance between what is literal and what is symbolic in Revelation. Each word in Revelation can be interpreted as literal or symbolic. The symbolic words and phrases have their meanings unlocked in other parts of the Bible. EX: A beast = kingdom A lamb = Jesus A woman = a church. But in Revelation 21, the "New Jerusalem" = the literal city of God. You don't find the phrase "New Jerusalem" anywhere in else in the Bible except earlier in Revelation where is says, "the New Jerusalem...the city of my God." Therefore it is assumed to be a literal city. Your question about politics? Maybe I'm out of the loop but I don't know of any SDA's who believe in using the church to sway political processes. SOP tells us to be careful when we vote; Vote for policies, not candidates. The policies we should vote for are religious liberty, free the slaves, etc. I think your parents are still correct!

    @TheWorldCitizen1 Catholic Church and Orthodox Church are one church, the split was political not spiritual. Orthodox have always recognized the Pope as highest ranking Bishop-first among equals. That is why the Orthodox have not replaced the Pope with their own bishop in Rome. You cannot divide God's church. Jesus said the gates of Hades will not prevail against his church. St. Paul said to "mark those who cause divisions among you". Your battle is political not spiritual.

  • @protochris

    St. John Chrysostom taught that Mary had venial sin, simply meaning that her will was not 100% perfectly united with God's. The whole idea about elevating Mary was and is to defend Christ's deity, when heretics like Jehovah's Witnesses or Arians attack him. Angel Gabriel anounced to Mary she was "Full of Grace", that doesn't sound like she had sin at the conception. SDA's are silent on this matter, because it'll create an unsolvable dilemma for them.

    I assure you, I would leave any church that does this. I'm more worried about the church having a female clergy or homosexual marriage, then I am about mandatory 1st day worship. "All" have not sinned: a one month old baby hasn't sinned, so we need to take that in context. The teaching is that Mary did not commit mortal sin, meaning a sin leading to death, only sins of vanity. The Idea being that Jesus as a perfect sinless man could not be tabernacled into a sinful womb.

    @PreparetomeetthyGod If the Catholic Church brings about a blue law to persecute another Christian faith for observing Sabbath or any day-by persecution you mean imprisonment, loss of job, physical punishment etc, then that act would be indefensible in this day and age or the future. @margovallen if my actions are contrary to what the Word of God specifically says,then my relationship isnt where it should be.being tainted by sin means that no church is able to gather all the truth.the only way we can even come close is indepth study of God's Word by the leading of the Holy Spirit.again,you say that you have studied the sda online,you do good,but if you seek truth,then do it in an unbiased way with the Holy Spirit guiding you,not your own understanding.God bless you.

    @classiq876 we do not praise God with our works unless you think giving tith is a form of that which is not wrong because the bible says that we are to give 10% of our ernings to God lol im pretty sure you have not attended an SDA church ever

    They're not in full communion for the reasons I stated previously. (a) The Filioque and (b) claims of the Papacy. Theologically they are essentially the same. They are in parts in full communion. In some villages Orthodox and Catholic parishioners worship together. Also, Byzantine Catholics believe as the Orthodox, but are in communion with Rome. The differences are truly political. Christ's prayer is that we are as one. All Christians faiths need to unite against this adulterous generation.

    @margovallen friend,first, im no church elder,just a simple deacon.second,could you please give an example of a church that hasnt changed its position on anything.apparently, from your own words ,thats a sign of a church that is well-grounded in the Word of God.so please,give an example.thanks.God bless. also,once again regarding proper interpretation,it benefits tremendously, if you have a grasp of the original languages,not just what king james' scribes say the word means.

    @PreparetomeetthyGod If the Catholic Church joined with other churches and began to persecute spiritual or even physical Jews for keeping Shabbat. No, I would not defend that action.

    Yes they were written by God's finger but not before Moses wrote them.God first spoke the 10C (Exodus 20:1-17) but the Children of Israel did not want to hear God's voice (Exodus 20:19) then in (Exodus 24:4) Moses wrote all the words of God including the 10C FIRST, But if we read (Exodus 24:12) we will findd God writing more than just the 10C in Stone. Moses broke those but the Book He still retained. Point is: (Leviticus 19:18) was wriiten by Moses (Love thy Neighbor) it's not one of the 10

    4. this mary being with God from all eternity is further cemented by pope Benny 16 when he quotes pope Pope Pius XII as saying & "interpreting": "Hence, the revered Mother of God, FROM ALL ETERNITY, joined in a hidden way with Jesus Christ..."
    catholic bingolly1 threw a fit saying this was not true & that I was lying in another rant video of his, BUT then had to immediately take his video down because he found i was telling the TRUTH. no he is silent on the issue now .

    Grace is indeed a gift, howevever Mt 7:22 provides a stern warning that not all of Christ believers will be saved. Jesus clearly rebuffs some christian believers saying that "He never KNEW them". Why did Jesus turn christians away if just believing provides you grace? Grace clearly did not save these people. The bible clearly states in 1 Jn 2:4 that "He that saith, I KNOW him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." Grace is a gift who love Him and KNOW Him.

    You got it wrong again, food is 1st. important than immediately is the LAW, here is an illustrative insight : if you want to put white solder on cooper wire, it won't catch unless you clean it, you agree with it? Than you solved you problem and join the parts which brings to the result you need, so is food dependent to the LAW, -for no body can do for yourself of what you can do for yourself-, you got to do it on this sequences other wise it won't work, are many people in the church which knows

    @margovallen well friend ,no church teaches all the truth,because unfortunetly,we are all tainted by sin.take the easter bunny for example.seems harmless fun for children,until you actually research the history and see that it has to do with orgies and fertility rites for the pagan goddess ishtar.and yet every easter the local baptist church has its annual egg hunt,to honor its "traditions." and while correct doctrine is very important,relationship with God is the most important.thats truth.

    I can assure you , no one has the law written on their hearts yet , because if they did , they would gladly obey them with no questions asked , "love" IS OBEYING GOD TOTALLY 100% with NO QUESTIONS OR DOUBTS , which equals absolute FAITH ..... THAT will not happen until "all things are made new" .... If you think people have the law written in their hearts nowdays , you're nuts ... Besides , WHAT is "written on the hearts ??? GOD'S LAW !!!!!!!!!! GOD'S LAW .... Ponder that deeply

Also, what's his point? What is the purpose of pointing out that these people are/were Adventists? Does that make them better humans? This guy... He makes Adventists look so smug. Ick.

    @TheWorldCitizen1 There were only 6,000 people killed during the inquisition, far less than World War 2. It has been protestant propaganda to talk about hundreds of thousands or millions. Serbs have the same basic religion as croats, they are simply Eastern Catholic (Orthodox) and Croats are Western Catholic. The Mayan and Incan people were sacrificing babies and children on an altar to their gods. The Catholic church stopped that through the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima.

    @margovallen you know as well as i ,that the Sabbath was santified before jews even existed,and that the Sabbath was made for man.and that there is no difference betwwen jew and gentile,and that the Sabbath is 1 of the big 10.therefore why would it not be important?maybe your interpretation of col 2:16 needs to be re-evaluated.also,the most important commandment is love your God with all your heart.that encompasses the first 4. the 2nd is love your neighbor as yourself,thats the last 6.

    you do know that we will be judging the angels right? but also God loves all of His creation unconditionally but never once in doctrine of the OT or NT to love satan nor forgive satan but only humankind. FYI we are at war with satan and his angels. and i will deal with whom God allows me to judge justly and righteously.

    The Gospel was not Preached in the Garden. Only a Prophecy of Christ is given showing Christ again concealed in the OT. The sabbath of Exodus given to the Children of Israel was given because of (Deut 5:15). If A&E had the same law in the Garden the they knew of Good and Evil when they were made. Your doctrine claime the 10C to be eternal. The 10C did not apply to A&E. No sweat fell from Adam's face until Sin. Genesis 2:2-3 is God's Rest and it is the same Rest offered in (Matt 11:28-30)

    Ellen G. White never EVER said to accept her over Jesus or her writings over the bible. All she did was try to explain the bible and God more in laymen's terms and shed spiritual light on the context of some biblical events.She never goes against what is in the bible. As a prophet she spread the health message and was waaaaaaaaaay a head of her time, as a prophet she talks about christian lifestyle and explains final events from a biblical perspective. She was not a fortune teller or psychic.

    you should check the vatican website...the current pope must be teaching heresy then b/c he along with many others highly endorse the writing/teaching of Liguori. most catholics dont know what the bible teaches at all and the same with their catechism. they depend fully on what their pope/priest says as most are too lazy to read for themselves. they think their priest/pope can save them if they just confess their sins now and then.

    The RCC never teaches worship of Mary, never. Mary with God at creation? I've never heard that statement, even from a chick publication. The bible says "at the beginning was the Word", no one else. Show me where you can find this teaching of RCC.
