As for my music uploaded on RUclips it makes no sense and just shows the names of my tracks with "Release - Topic" doesn't even show my name.
Depending on your distributor, usually RUclips uploads to their own “Topic” channel because the RUclips is their own platform that offers more than just music. It’s technically not a DSP, so that’s why they upload to that channel and not yours. However, there are certain distributors that will allow you to connect to your RUclips music account, but RUclips Music is different just RUclips. Does that make sense?

So this only works if a song has been released? Only asking because I have a promoter on youtube asking for the streaming link but it looks like I can't get that because I set the song to release the same date on spotify as the date the promoter will post it.

It should, but I’m not too sure about fresh tunes since we don’t use that streaming platform here in the states.
Does the profile not show up until your official first release? I have my first EP scheduled through DistroKid for Xmas day but I can't find my artist profile to claim. DistroKid SAYS it's uploaded to Spotify tho...???
It doesn’t show up until your first release is out. Also, keep in mind that it sometimes takes 3-5 days to show up on Spotify depending on how soon you set your release date for.

When Distrokid opens a new account, how do I find it, and how do I enter and I find the password?
Look for it about 1-3 days after your release and claim it. I have more videos on my channel explaining how to do so.

Yup and you use a regular login username and password to claim your Spotify profile. It can be a login that you use for listening purposes or not. Does that make sense?

You find your account AFTER your song has been released within 1-3 days and you claim it on Spotify for Artists, which you can get there through your regular Spotify login.
I found my profile but it's taking a very long time for my profile to be approved, it's almost 4 months now

Try using your artist link, SoundCloud link or fan link. Also, I’d recommend getting an artist website soon so that you can guide more ppl to your brand and they can receive updates, etc.

Sign up to Wix or SquareSpace since those are drag and drop type of website builders and start creatively building what you want it to look like.

I had distributed my song from a Website. And today i get to know they had created a profile on Spotify and it is been claimed by some one else. As it already has a blue tick. How do i sort this out?

I wound up writing to "Spotify for Artists" support chat and they helped me gain access to my account. I hope that helps.

The artist you are trying to claim is your profile that your distributor created for you. Just an FYI; it could take 3-5 days (after your first song is released) for your profile to show up when you try and claim it.

Yes. IF it is your first song that you’re releasing then the distributor will create the account for you after you first song is released and then you can claim it 24-72 hours after.

You have to upload them again (if you are not using Tunecore), once you claim your own profile.

Hello,
When your distributor creates the artist profile for you when your music is uploaded through their platform and released through there, they create a brand new one for you and then you can claim it from your personal account or through another one you create. It is entirely up to you.
Also, they do not upload your picture for you on your music distributor. Once you claim your Spotify artist profile, then you do that yourself.
Lastly, the profile they create for you doesn’t have a username or password, it’s just a profile with your music on it. Once you claim it through your Spotify personal account then it will be yours.

You’re welcome! Yes for Deezer and Apple but not for RUclips. Also, I am not too sure what you are referring to with the ISRC code.

So ive pretty much finished all the steps and found my artists profile but when i select it it takes me to the next page and asks me to, "enter a link from artists website or social". Ive tried my links to soundcloud, spotify, insta and from my distro which is freshtunes and i always get an email back from spotify asking for a different link. Any suggestions? 😂

That might still be too soon. Sometimes it can take 3-5 days for your song to show up. Just keep checking and once you see it on Spotify for artists, then claim it.

No. You’re not understanding. You have to sign up to a distributor first and release a song through them. Once it is released, then you look for your profile and claim it.

Then you would still have to upload that song to a distributor if you want it on your profile.

No, you should be good but they do usually need to verify.

You just claim that profile on each platform like on Spotify and on Apple Music.
so i wanna gonna schedule a release almost a month from now on tunecore. i had them make me a spotify. so i can’t claim it until the release date? i cant in the meantime be working on my profile? i gotta wait for the release date a month from now? i wanted to push it out that far to try n pitch to playlists and work on my profile and build content around my release but it feels pointless if i can’t even work on my spotify profile until the actual song comes out. i guess i shoulda did it backwards? make the spotify for artists and wen i was uploading to tunecore i shoulda not had them make me an account, and jus added it to the one i just made?
IF this is the first time that you are releasing a song or songs through a distributor, then you have to wait until your song or songs are released and then on that day (or sometimes 1-3 days after) you can claim your profile and start editing it.

@BL4RR3D Once the song is released on Oct. 18th, then they will create the profile for you on that day or 3 days after and you can then claim your profile.

Type in your artist name and/or email on the Spotify for artists website and it should pop up. Then claim it.

When the claiming is done. Will the song be transfered to your own profile?
I'm having a problem because the music distributor in which I uploaded my song created a new Spotify account.
Distributors always create a new profile for you IF they don’t allow you to connect your profile to the distributor before uploading your music for a release. Once your song releases, then (if you didn’t connect your existing profile to your distributor) you can claim your profile on Spotify that they created for you.
