I’m a an 81 yo rider, currently riding a Lectric XP3. One specification I wish all reviewers would include is Ebike weight, with and without battery. The Ebikes I know I can eliminate from any search are the fat tire ebikes with 26”+ wheels.
We'll try and be better about that on the video! We typically include that on the written review as weighing bikes with and without the batteries has become standard practice over the last year and a half. You can try checking the link to the written review in the video description if we don't mention it on the video. -Griffin
I hope you guys get a chance to review the new Wired Bikes this year, just so much better than anything on your list. I really like your business model vs the refferal model and the objective testing methodology you employ. It gives you guys a lot of credibility!
I have the Aventon Aventure2, purchased when it was first introduced. It was far ahead of the competition then, and not surprising to see it still stands at the top of its class now. I easily exceed your range test with my ebike. One thing you didn't mention in your review, but something that I feel is a very important reason I purchased the Aventon, is that they have a large dealer network all over the US. We aren't dealing with a website in some other country, there's no shipping the ebike back and forth for warranty or after warranty work, we deal with a shop that wants to satisfy us and knows our ebike. Imo the Electric Bike Company Model R is a better choice than the Model S. They are priced similarly, so I don't understand why you do not include both in your Best of 2025. The same shop that I bought the Aventon from also handles the Electric Bike Company's product. It was my 2nd choice at the time I purchased the Aventure2, and I'm thinking about going back to buy the Model R to use on the days I'm recharging the Aventon's battery.
Thanks for sharing, Ray! Glad to hear you're enjoying the Aventure! Great point on the Aventure having solid support nation-wide. That's an underdiscussed element for sure. You're correct, the Model R is a great bike, and we considered mentioning both. It just depends on the buyer, we went with the Model S as it felt like the quintessential beach cruiser in this case, but the Model R is great, no doubt. -Griffin
@@ElectricBikeReport well, I then say both should be on the list, especially since they are American-made and can be made-to-order with many options. The specs on both Electric Bike Company bikes are better than a lot of the 28 on your list, and if I'm not mistaken the Company qualified all its products to be officially UL-approved last year. That wasn't mentioned in your review (or I missed it).
@@matts7470 They're all garbage. I don't blame you for not knowing that but don't try to spread this as gospel and mislead other potential buyers. There's a reason there aren't many widespread reviews on those bikes. They're junk.
Great selection and breakdown of bikes, guys! Especially great choice on the Velotric Discover 2. That I happen to own - and LOVE - that same Cherry Crimson version you guys have has absolutely NOTHING to do with my praise. 😉

The Euphree Stellar Falcon should have easily made this list, imho. Versus the Radster Trail, it has better suspension (Suntour NCX seatpost and the excellent air fork!!), a few pounds lighter, and dare I say, a lot nicer looking bike(not a fan of the brown color) but the Radster Trail is still a very capable ebike. Still, a great video, guys!
I demoed the Radster trail , I watched all the videos on the Euphree Stellar Falcon. I took a leap of faith and bought the Steller Falcon. It's by far superior to the Radster Trail. I have the Mid step. The frame is a lot stiffer, the motor on my mid step stellar falcon is quiet enough for me.
@jeffreyfinn2940 Nice, glad it worked out for you. We don't really have any local support in my area for Euphree bikes so I'm hoping they keep expanding their network.
We really appreciate your kind words and enthusiasm for the Stellar Falcon! 🚴♂🙌 It’s great to hear you recognize the suspension, weight, and design-we put a lot of thought into making it a capable and stylish ride. The Wired Freedom has been my choice for 3 years now, I have the 2024 with dual batteries, dual piston brakes, front and rear suspension along with bmx style handlebars for people like me with back issues that need to ride in a more upright position. I'm 63 years old and this bike covers all my needs especially that it can reach speeds upto 40mph fully loaded when I have to merge with traffic keeping me from getting run off the road or intimidated by those who love to ride all up on you. I have 2 27l panniers that can hold upto 1 case of bottled water in each thus making this bike my long range grocery getter and I can adjust the ped assist level so in the warmer days I ride 30-40 miles for exercise. I have several mobility issues but this bike has provided me a new lease on life. I can no longer afford a regular vehicle being on disability and this bike gets everything done for my situation. Lots of seniors stop and ask me about it and I emphasize how costs are only going up for everything but these Ebikes give people with limited funds a fighting chance along with independence !
Thanks for sharing! I'm glad to hear it's keeping your independence going! I'm curious, did you zero in on the Wired Freedom from the start, or were others in the running?
@@ElectricBikeReport My 1st after the pandemic was the Himiway Cruiser which provided everything but get up and go when I absolutely had to use the streets. Since, I've owned the 2023 & 24 Freedom. Velotric Summit 1 baby! I searched and searched and searched. For my riding style, which is pretty much what you described, it hits all the points. I would have preferred a mid-drive and came down to the Summit or Specialized Tero X, but once I rode the Summit, it felt very natural for a Hub. The deciding factor came down to the throttle (I probably won’t ever have a bike without a throttle) and the ability to program into different classes and take the throttle above 20 because in NYC I can set the throttle to 25mph and still be considered class IIII. It’s also highly customizable , I can upgrade to premium components. For me, it’s the perfect bike. I just hope Velotric does not come down with the same California illness Super73 has.
@ Hey, appreciate the response! I will eventually upgrade to a lighter fork (hoping to shave off 2 lbs with that one) , upgrade from an 8 to 9 speed change out the derailleur ,shifters and breaks and tires to more premium components.
Great video and review of the bikes. I am currently torn between the Velotric T1 ST Plus and the Ride1Up Roadster 3. My hesitation with the Roadster is the swap of components and stories of orders and money being taken but no bikes being delivered. Your recommendation is the Roadster, which I was initially leaning towards. Thoughts or nudge in a specific direction? They both seem very comparable.
We had some talks with Wired, but then they had things come up and the talks cooled. Hoping we can get in touch with them again soon and finally get a bike in to test! -Griffin
@ElectricBikeReport thanks.. I've been researching ebikes and both of those companies came up . But my whole issue is reliability.. yes specs look amazing but if it's going to break down, then what's the point
When you say a bike goes 41 and 86 miles (Velotric) are you going all out at top speed on highest assist? and is on flats or hills. Trying to get a grasp on your low end mileage test for bikes.
The 41-mile result was done in the highest level of pedal assist (PAS 5 in the Boost setting) in Class 2 mode. We ride on paved multi-use paths with other cyclists and pedestrians, so we adhere to the 20-mph speed limit and err on the side of safety. The paths have a mix of flats and hills.
Got it. So when you reference this low end range, it’s not all out as fast as it goes the whole time. It’s averaging about 20mph. Is that for all range tests? Meaning have you ever done all out as fast as it can go.
I really hope y'all can do a category for best car replacement e-bike when y'all do the 3k+ lineup! I'm looking for something that's Class 3, compact (excluding long tail bikes), but still can carry another adult on the back that's rated for 200lbs+. Most bikes that can carry another passenger are rated for around 100lbs-140lbs on the back so it's kinda useless when most people I'd ride w/ are not that small. Moped style, cargo, utility, idc really as long as it can accommodate a 200lbs passenger at Class 3 speeds
I'm not sure if we've tested a bike that checks all those boxes. It would likely be a moped style if long tail cargo options are out. If you are open to it though, the XPedition 2.0 on this list comes closest to meeting what you're looking for.
Great point, we've had a few others make the same request as well. We'll include the data in the future, but until then, you can check out our individual reviews for this information!

I also see many false claims and lies from companies like a Aventon that are a very misleading.
Anyone have any idea roughly
How much it would cost to ship an Aventon Ramblas to the UK,or if its even possible?
Try emailing the brand directly to see if they can. It might not be a regular thing they do, but perhaps they'll make an exception.
