I was used to seeing LC reviews talking about the weakness of the infotainment system, and I assumed the touchpad would be like the one on a laptop computer, but it really isn't. The haptic feedback and user friendliness of the touchpad is amazing. I think it is one of the best features of the car, and you don't have to dig down through multiple levels just to turn on the seat heater. The concierge setting does all that for you automatically. Plus, you can use voice commands to change settings. Reviewers seem to listen to each other and they ding the same things without giving it proper thought. My LC is a great car and a great value for the price.
I'm not the biggest fan of the touchpad. Didn't like it in my RC-F and I don't like it in my LC, BUT it's not the end of the world. One thing that might be overlooked is that in Australia and the UK, you have to use the pad with your left hand, and this isn't going to be natural for the majority of the population.
Finally someone says what I have been saying. I actually LIKE the infotainment system. Sure it was initially a let down but after owning it and then going to newer loaner lexus's w/ the touch only and i hate it. The screen is always nasty and when you go to adjust stuff on the fly your finger is bouncing around where on my pad its stable. Ppl that don't own the car never get that.
I have been saying this for ages. Touchscreens in a car are a nightmare.... greasy fingerprints, then sunshine...bthe glare is awful. Then when you want to touch it you have to lean forward, putting your head closer to the steering wheel.... dangerous. Especially in Europe, for a LHD car and a right handed driver, the touch pad naturally falls directly under your "mouse" hand without having to move at all from your natural seating position... safer, more conformable, more natural to use.
Yep, it’s not the fastest or quickest accelerating; but I’ve had 4.2s out of mine in Sport+ in manual mode. Doesn’t really matter, as when I’m driving it, I couldn’t care less. The smile on my face speaks volumes. I love it and genuinely can’t see myself selling it-it’s that good.
Mine easily hits 4.2 if I warm the tyres up. When they’re ready to change this summer I’ll get 10mm wider all round, I reckon that’ll get nearer 4 dead. Plus protect the rims a bit better than the standard size. Agreed tho, it hardly matters anyway. Just numbers. It’s the feelings that count!
If u don't care why are u trying to see how fast u can get it 😂😂 jokes still a great car I wish the performance was a little better hard to justify it when a bmw m340i is just as fast and 50k not even going to mention a full on M car

15:53 That feeling you are commenting on is only found on the 2020 and up. The 2017's rode so harsh even in comfort mode. I TD the first year run and was horrified. I said i could never. They did some major upgrades for 18. Still hard but better, i skipped 19 but heard gobs of whispers and rumors of a big upgrade to suspension and trans tuning. Boy were they right. Every year since has been a build up on that. They don't do anything to the outside or even inside of the car. Lexus upgrades the insides of the car always pertaining to trans and suspension. Each year gets better in those two regards.
Got my 2018 in November of 2018. It's been a fantastic car. In fact, it's PERFECT. Being an adult and not a stupid kid, my concern is for safety, reliability, comfort and performance...probably in that order. Not sure why anyone would want an 800 hp car for the public roads but to my way of thinking, that's kid stuff. The LC500 is TRANSPORTATION. It's a mans of getting from Point A. to Point B. without any life-altering events. I don't want to take a curve at 160 mph. I certainly don't want to injure anyone by acting like a stupid kid. Uneventful trips are a good thing. Ferrari owners don't even know what that means. Aston-Martin owners seldom get there. People who own "supercars" own them for a year or two and then they find out how useless they really are. The bottom line is that if you can afford to buy the best car on the market today, the LC500 is the one. But, if you have four kids or need to haul groceries, equipment or work related objects, it may not be the best choice. If you want a fantastic car that you will enjoy driving and a car that will not break down on the side of the road in the rain at 2 a.m. or spontaneously combust, this is the car for you. Learn to use VOICE COMMAND and then you'll understand everything you need to know.
Trying to figure out WHY you would use the trackpad when it's so much easier to talk to the car. I've had my 2018 LC 500 for over four years now and have used the trackpad no more than ten times. Of course, I'm pretty smart and read the Owner's Manual like an adult. Once I SETUP my personal preferences, using the trackpad became unnecessary. In the off chance I'm out driving and CLIMATE CONCIERGE isn't keeping the seats, steering wheel or inside temperature of the car to my liking because a COLD SNAP just blew in, or a HEAT WAVE...I simply say "Show Climate Screen" or "Show Heat Warmer Screen" etc. and then slide my fingers up or down a bit on the trackpad. But, under normal circumstances, talking is safer, easier and quicker. And, for heaven's sake, who the hell wants a filthy touch screen where you have to take your eyes off the road while traveling at speeds in excess of 120 feet per second. A lot can can wrong when you do that. So boys, you might want to RE-REVIEW you REVIEW and learn VOICE COMMAND. Then, tell your viewers how cool Lexus Technology really is. Instead of unfairly maligning them, be nice and be honest and give an informed opinion. That's what adults do, boys!
You schooled me. 22 coupe ownere here. I just learned the system and w/ the haptic feedback i know where to go. But ill try that. I only complain when i have to get into a new Lexus loaner w/ the touch only systems. I hate it.
@@aurorajones8481 Touch only is deadly. Why would any car company require the driver to take their eyes off the road? Learning VOICE COMMAND is very easy and once you get in the habit of doing it, you understand it's the best and safest way.
Absolutely, Aurora. Once people understand they are traveling in excess of 100 feet per second on the freeway, why would they ever want their eyes to look at anything except the road? Touchpads and trackpads are extremely dangerous, second only in stupidity to texting while driving. The software needs some sort of INPUT to SETUP personal preferences and as yet, there is no way to do everything by voice. However, MOST requests are easily handled by the VOICE COMMAND feature. Lexus has done a very good job, let's say compared to Mercedes-Benz, on how well their system works. Once the owner learns a few basic commands, they'll almost never need to use the trackpad again. And, for those rare occasions when a cold snap comes in while you are driving, you can get to the SEAT WARMING SCREEN with VOICE COMMAND but you will have to slide your fingers to adjust the SEAT TEMPERATURE. I think the system is to be praised and not admonished.
If they were to make this with two seats and a big boot it'd be great to go away for the weekend. I suppose you can use the back seats for luggage but if you can't actually sit in the back why are they there!
It was designed as a show car, practicality was not on the radar. A bigger boot would need a rear hatch and ruin the design. Just struggle with the back seat storage or buy a minivan…
I don’t care what anyone says this is one of the best looking cars I’ve ever seen and there is nothing wrong with anything ....it’s perfect ...I just wish I could afford one
This is a GT in the truest sense. Lexus didn’t build it to be a tack day demon. It was built for those that love to drive endless miles in a gorgeous piece of machinery that won’t wear you out and will not break.
i drove it a while ago. Beautiful inside, and outside. Everything seems top notch quality. Most likely incredibly reliable. It´s a GT to drive comfortable in style. Quite heavy. Doesn't feel very agile. Also has a bit of a leg when accelerating. Besides that a wonderful car to be in and to look at.
Good question. The RC-F is a great car - I ran one for about 1.5 years. I now own an LC500 (V8). Sound - the LC500 is in a different league (although they have the same engine). Lexus have really worked the exhaust and Yamaha have worked wonders with the induction noise. Then there's the interior - the LC is a special place to sit. Driving an LC is always a sense of occasion. If you don't want attention, don't buy an LC. Finally, with rear wheel steering, the LC500 feels much sharper than the RC-F.
Wow, AUS really gets hosed on car prices. I thought it was bad in the US and Canada. Not so much. I had heard it was generally more for cars in your neck of the woods, but I didn’t realize the pricing was that insane.
I hate how Lexus gave the LC thin donut tires for the rear. It looks so weird having a thin tire in the rear for how wide the car is, it needs a wider rear tire
Living with it, No, you don't get used to the infotainment system. BUT... WHO CARES?! I just plain LOVE driving it and don't even use the infotainment system as it interferes with the sweet engine sound. Sure I will listen to a usb stick loaded with my best songs, but I don't really care. The sound system sounds great and I can skip songs via the steering wheel if need be. But truth be told, I bought this car for the shear fun that it is to drive. Plus, most adjustments can be done with voice commands. So NO, the infotainment system is just fine. Yes I watched MANY reviews of this and it was a toss up between this and keeping with a 4 door LS 500 or GS F. When it comes down to it, you MUST drive these before you pull the trigger on anything. I drove the LS 500 and the GS F and the LC 500 and I got soooo soo many Smiles per hour on the LC 500 that it was not a difficult decision at all. I just LOVE LOVE driving the LC. So for me I went with the LC and paid no attention to those that gave it less than a favorable review. Best car I have bought...EVER. (at least until i can afford an LFA).
both LC & S coupes are depreciating heavily , now comparing these both it is at an alluring price point around 50-60% off RRP. 2018 year mades. Between both of these which would you guys choose over?
Depreciating Heavily?? I'm not sure where you live but in the USA all used cars are severely overpriced. The cheapest you can find 2018 LC500s are around Mid 60k to 70k and they have a lot of mileage on them. If you want a more desirable 2020 and up model due to the updated transmission tweaks and apple car play, you're looking at the mid 80s to 90s. Hardly discounted.
@@Jaysun1 Hi Paul , am in Malaysia , with duties and all it’s floating at approximately 700-800K MYR = 160-180K USD , both for 2018 model around 20-30K Kilometers of mileage. Their RRP is around 1.3M - 1.5M MYR = 293K - 338K USD with duties included. So yeah very cheap now , our cars depreciate heavily due to import duties which is around > 2X of the price sold in US, UK , or Japan….

Guys! Who's LC is that? At 4:13 the CF door sills are completely scuffed up! I guess the term "scuff plates" in Australia are used because they truly get destroyed!🤯 Enjoyed the review nonetheless....thanks 👍
This LC is the car that should have underpinned the new Supra.. Just as the older Lexus SC underpinned the MKIV Supra.. Would've been more in line with the Supra's original sports GT mission. Would've maintained the 2+2 configuration. And it CERTAINLY would've done the FT-1 concept's proportions more justice than the little hairdressers BMW did.... But I know, I know. Badge engineering someone else's car is much less expensive etc. etc.
Tbh. It'd be less appealing to the audience who'd want a supra. It's nice and all but its all too heavy, untunable, and would get destroyed by its competition if they decided to use anything off the LC to make a new supra. Current cars already shown it didnt need anything from toyo at all coming from all the abuse and achievements that people have gone and done with the current mk5 that we honestly have never seen people done with any of the rwd homemade toyos in the last decade(specially the fact that mk5s have a manual option now). Even if it prob would've been better if toyo use their own parts we more than likely wouldn't have had a good outcome from it since people avoid doing anything with any modern toyo platform or engine that involves tuning/power like the plague for some reason so they went to BMW for help since their own audience/community barely touch the already had alternatives they had for a decade to use(the ISF,GSF,RCF or even the IS500)as a supra.
@@evthompson8176 Wouldn’t worry about it too much. He’s probably a troll. Saw one of these in person today for the first time. Pictures and videos DO NOT convey how good this thing actually looks in the flesh. The interior truly is remarkable too. If it was simply a bit faster it would probably sell better. Every real world 0-60 that I have watched for this car struggle to get it under 5 seconds. Depending on one’s goals this could be a nothing burger. It is a work of art, so that really does help.
They would definitely sell more, certainly in the UK, if the 0-62 mph time was around 4 seconds instead of 4.7. beautiful car that is let down by its lack of performance
@@onikai7055 It is a great looking car but I and I know others in the UK and US who did not buy one was because of its relatively poor performance. At high altitude levels in the US the car struggles to hit 0-60 in less than 5.5 seconds. Just think how much better the car would have been if it was fitted with the Merc or Audi V8 engine.
@@ivanyardley1663 it hits 0-60 in 4.4-5 seconds but some people who own the car said it can hit 0-60 at 4.3 or 4.2 like I said and I’ll say it again 0-60 is not everything but kids think it’s the world. There’s many more things that make a car great besides 0-60 times plus the LC 500 is car of balance it doesn’t lean to far to the left or right it sits in the middle. Car is fast however some the performance is sacrificed for luxury and comfort.
12:55 Thats because Lexus has "tuned" the entire car as if you tuned a musical instrument. Its a mechanical machine. Lexus just made it sound beautiful. Just like the LFA. Ugh... so entoxicating.
6:05 Who are you going to beleive tho. Reviewers or commenters who don't actually own the car all saying its crap. OR the comments from OWNERS who love it. Id refer to the owners. And now that you agree. Im an owner of a 22 Coupe and it is far superior to the NEWER touch only systems. I can say that having OWNED the car and learning the system. I know where to go, it has haptic feedback. Meanwhile i hop into a newer touch only system and its the same lexus system so i know where I'm going still but my finger is shaking cause of the bumps on the road then i have to STARE at the screen cause i need to touch that area. Its garbage. The screen gets dirty. Where as mine is a fly. I can do it all while driving and not have my eyes off the road. That to me is far superior.
@@aurorajones8481 No truer words have been spoken. This is the Internet. It will bring out the worst at times from the peeps that are unable to afford to even replace the tires on some these upper end vehicles. A bit pathetic really, but sadly it’s true in a lot of cases. That said, a lot of the times it’s just that some folks are really picky about cars. I’m personally pretty easy to please. I would feel privileged to own many of the more expensive rides out there. This LC would fall into that category of rides. It is really nice for what it is, it’s target audience, etc…Beautiful. I personally prefer something a bit more brutal and edgy like an F-type R, but it would be a mistake to not consider an LC500. It would certainly be a more rational choice in terms of cost of ownership. Of that there is no doubt. That said, I truly believe high end car purchases to be inherently irrational…lol…That said, buy whatever emotionally pulls on ya the most I say (within reason and realistic budget constraints of course).

It is a great back seat for my chihuahua. She likes to curl up on the back seat and go to sleep.🙂
Just bought the LC500 Convertible, can’t wait🏖️
You're right! it's an amazing vehicle!
Love ❤️ this car to the max. Don't even care what anyone else thinks, what it has or doesn't have. Love ❤️, love, love it 😊.
Lc500 sound Amazing like the e92 bmw m3 🤤🤤both cars may be the last amazing sounding engines
Amg Gt and BMW 8 series coupe are direct competitors. In shape and price.
Hello, love you guys videos! Please review the Toyota GR86 ...really waiting for that review from you guys ! 😁
How does it weigh 4,400lbs? It is so big, but it does NOT enough room to be a GT. Why in the world does it have a back seat?
Makes not much sense.
Mate, you should do LC500h … compare to this is a lot different 😊😊
I wish I had LC500 money, I'm almost there where I can buy a 2nd hand RCF I wonder how do they compare?
Good question. The RC-F is a great car - I ran one for about 1.5 years. I now own an LC500 (V8). Sound - the LC500 is in a different league (although they have the same engine). Lexus have really worked the exhaust and Yamaha have worked wonders with the induction noise. Then there's the interior - the LC is a special place to sit. Driving an LC is always a sense of occasion. If you don't want attention, don't buy an LC. Finally, with rear wheel steering, the LC500 feels much sharper than the RC-F.
Would the Jaguar F-Type be a competitor? Similar engine (and noise!).
Well it’s a pure performance car while the LC 500 isn’t.
Wow, AUS really gets hosed on car prices. I thought it was bad in the US and Canada. Not so much. I had heard it was generally more for cars in your neck of the woods, but I didn’t realize the pricing was that insane.
As nice as this car is, I would never pay the pricing you guys are forced to pay. Just wowser.
I hate how Lexus gave the LC thin donut tires for the rear. It looks so weird having a thin tire in the rear for how wide the car is, it needs a wider rear tire
It’s thin because those are more grippy
I come back every week for Jacobs sex noises
I posted about that and my it looks like my comment was deleted, disappointing :(
Style, last a life time, cost less and the road 365days of every year.king colours king of autos.toyota Toyota lexus.
both LC & S coupes are depreciating heavily , now comparing these both it is at an alluring price point around 50-60% off RRP.
@@Jaysun1 around 80-90K USD , I could only barely buy a new GLE 450 SUV model 🤣, Used 2018 Boxster S , Used 2016 C63 coupe , just sort of a parameter to approximate
@@Jaysun1 wow. 2018 would be about 160k in australia
S coupe, ive driven both but amg’s are masterpieces
Beautiful man. Beautiful car. ❤
It's the only real gt car now. Every one else is obsessed with being sporty and harsh.
not to flex but I work at lexus and when i first started i didnt have my license and they still let me drive an LC500 around the lot🥱
I sold my LC. I will not miss it one bit.
Why is that Prime? I've been considering a 2nd hand as my dream car, but keen to hear your thoughts
Crazy that you didn’t mention how reliable they are
People already know how reliable Lexus cars are. So I guess there's no need.
@@128Cores actually did on the motor but what he/she said! just take it to dealer if u get/have one, & a good extended warranty can work wonders
these sound great!
They would definitely sell more, certainly in the UK, if the 0-62 mph time was around 4 seconds instead of 4.7. beautiful car that is let down by its lack of performance
It’s a car of balance and art it’s not about just speed anyway having a 0-60 time under 5 secs is fast enough.
@@onikai7055 That may be so but it is the reason that so few were sold and is why it is no longer sold in the UK or Europe
@@ivanyardley1663 the is no good reason why it didn’t sell honestly I have a LC 500 and it’s a perfect car all around
Dude you’re freaking hilarious 😂 great review
I love this car except for the exhaust note… it sounds too much like a American muscle car 🤦🏻♂️
My favourite stock exhaust note is the Maserati GT 😅
Nice review 😂
It really is such a great looking car
Awesome car. Wish I could afford one.
I wish you would do a giveaway with this car! This is my dream car! I dought I'd come close in a lifetime to having this. hah.
What's the colour?
My dream car🤤
12:55 Thats because Lexus has "tuned" the entire car as if you tuned a musical instrument. Its a mechanical machine. Lexus just made it sound beautiful. Just like the LFA. Ugh... so entoxicating.
Will we have a review of the rn22e after last weekend?
What did they change between the 22 model and this
LEXUS LC ❤👍🏻 DREAM CAR NO.1
Epic machine!!!
LOVE and I want you to have my babies. Not you the CAR 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 the video was GREAT. And you spoke truly of TOYOTA WORK WITH THIS LEXUS LC500.
I will take this Lexus over a BMW or Mercedes ANY DAY!!! You can drive this Lexus FOREVER!!!
I agree. I'd rather drive this than have to have a flatbed pick up a bmw or mercedes every other week.
Its an easy thing to hate on tho for ppl who lust after what they cant have. I don't hate on F8's cause i cant afford it.
That said, I truly believe high end car purchases to be inherently irrational…lol…That said, buy whatever emotionally pulls on ya the most I say (within reason and realistic budget constraints of course).
these sound so good and look great, yet almost no one buys one.
Because there’s better cars. No one buys this because Lexus failed to do demographic studies.
Who says it doesn't have a direct competitor? Isn't it competing directly with BMW's 850i or M8?
M850i/Aston Martin/Sclass etc cars of that status
Sup bro totally agree people dont get ?! Fuck how can you be so outta context for so long ?
People comparing this car to a Bentley continental gt and a Porsche is dumb
Is the entire image out of focus or is it iust me?
Does driva work for us
I bay this car was amazing, don’t judge till drive it 😮
Honey. I robed a bank and bought a Lexus LC500.
It’s so sad, this car has been out for 5 years and I’ve seen 4 coupes and 1 roadster on the road in Australia. 😢
Aussies are smart enough to know it is not worth of that price tag. 2 door coupe costing $200k couldn’t dash under 5 secs. Are you serious?
@@EastWood2004 even though some Aussies go and buy over priced commodores. That you could get for a shit ton cheaper 5 years ago
@@OddAutoAnalysis i have never heard 200k commodore. Only Lexus fans and idiots will pay $200k for this crap car.
@@EastWood2004 I guess it depends if that's all you're after i.e. acceleration. If that's your bag, get an EV. Accelerate from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, then spend the rest of the day being bored. The LC500 is not about acceleration, it's a thing of class and beauty. Name one car that costs the same, sounds as good, drives as well and looks fabulous.........AND is utterly reliable....?
@@EastWood2004 Well, Aussies are apparently "smart" enough to judge a car based on superficial performance numbers like most people do.
Performance numbers are relative, so they are very misleading. This friendly gentlemen proves it, he also thought de Lexus LC500 is to slow, to heavy, not
exciting enough and to boring to drive, based on the "weak" performance numbers. Until he test drove one and.........................everything changed.
Oooh did i mention that he is a Mercedes AMG GT-s owner?........................well i did now.

I’ve had mine since 2019 and it is an amazing GT car. Reliable, sounds like God’s car, still super rare to see in the wild, never have I ever not been stopped while getting gas, 29mpg on the flat Florida highways, drive mods make dramatic difference, mine is modded heavily but still drives like a dream even lowered-the hips on it 😍🫡
I like the rear but wth happened to the front?
I actually think the front looks better than the rear. But they both still look good
It's really beautiful, i like the front more than the rear
Both sides look amazing
do they offer vegan friendly material? like no leather?
I'm thinking that the alcantara leather is not real leather. So does that count as vegan???
@@shawnm2597 oh yeah well, Alcantara itself is vegan, but they might mix some leather parts in that option.
Not so much as misunderstood, it’s just… this car appeals to no demographic and fits in no particular class. A person who would buy this car would just buy an AMG GT or a Jaguar.
Well, you say it yourself: "A person who buy this car would just buy an AMG GT or a Jaguar." That proves how misunderstood this car is.
Cant we all agree that this is the REAL new supra?...
2x the price and would get smacked by the Z without even trying? No, this is just a new SC/soarer with a different name.
