This is probably the car I would choose if I had to pick a 'forever car' to drive for the rest of my life. It's comfortable, reliable, powerful and looks and sounds like a piece of art.
I agree with you so much....I did purchase this as my forever car. I drove a 1963 Corvette split window coupe from age 16 to 37 and sold it for a myriad of reasons. No regrets. I went without a sports car until I was age 52 and decided to get back in the game. BMW M4 didn't do it. Jaguar F-Type R didn't do it. Mercedes AMG GLE 63S coupe didn't do it. So I took a year off after losing thousands every time I made a change. I've had the LC500 convertible for 2 years now and I am reasonably certain this will be it. Love the look, sound, comfort, performance, and reliability. (Dealer too). Its a remarkable car that I drive every chance I get. Its not super practical - but makes running that quick errand fun. I've taken a couple of longer trips and she cruises along at 100+ for hours without breaking a sweat. As Ferris Bueller would say: If you have the means....I highly recommend picking one up!
So incredibly underrated. One of those cars that people will talk about long after it goes out of production. "Why don't they make them like this anymore". Because no one buys one. Including me. Can't even afford the model version.
Search nationally, I've owned several Lexus sedans for a big discount from new. The only reason to buy new is if you are very specific about exterior/interior color combo or other options. There are 9 RC-F's nationally close enough to $40K, 4 of those are under 70K miles. GS-F's are starting to get under $60K. There are 32 LC coupes nationally under $70K. Bought my LC convertible new, but that's because I was very specific about exterior/interior color combo :)
As an LC500 owner since 2018, I can honestly say you cannot buy a better car anywhere. In my many decades and having owned a bunch of those stupid "supercars" that every knob seems to lust after, it is now more apparent than ever that those cars are simply a waste of time, energy and money. When you've spent $500,000 on a car and it turns out to be a piece of dung, you really appreciate a fine automobile like the LC500. For almost five years my car has been trouble free, fun and enjoyable to drive and every single time I look at it, it makes my heart flutter. A child would want the LFA because that's what children are like. No person could live with the LFA as a daily driver. It's an out and out race car and we don't do our driving on the race track as a general rule. The infotainment system is awesome once you've learned VOICE COMMAND. In my four plus years, the track pad has been used less than ten times. Set up your personal preferences, read the OWNER'S MANUAL like an adult, and you're good to go. My car does 0-60 in 4.33 seconds and that's plenty fast. If you want anything faster, buy an electric car and then live with all the other problems. The LC500 is value for money. It's under priced by a lot. You simply drive it, maintain it as per the factory instructions and you'll never have a problem.
Louis, I'm considering an LC...but I have 2 Q's. First, what is the touch pad really like? Is it the worst or does it work ok? Everyone rags on it. Second, what is the real every day mileage you can get on the car? No more than 20mpg? 25? 30? or lower. Other than that, I'm seriously considering a 2024. Thx for you input.
@@eddycabello667 The touchpad is mostly for setting your personal preferences. These are things that you can change at anytime. Once you've read the documentation that comes with this highly technical masterpiece, you will be able to appreciate just how great this car really is. The youtube reviewers are simply lazy. They want a touchscreen. If you think about your normal driving habits, VOICE COMMAND covers most everything you'd ever need to do and then you don't have to take your eyes off the road. Most states have made texting on your smartphone illegal for that very reason. Simply learn the VOICE COMMANDS you will use the most. For myself, that is about 20 commands. Here's a sample: Tune to AM560. Call my wife. Set temperature to 68 degrees. Get directions to PizzaHut. Get the idea?? Real tough, eh? The car is sheer joy. Best car I've ever owned. I get close to 30 mpg on the road and about 18 around town. It's ultra-reliable, unlike some European cars. In the six years I've owned mine, my expenses have only been for routine maintenance. You should go drive one. The car sells itself.
Thank you for finally reviewing this awesome vehicle. Very under-appreciated and I own a convertible one in InfraRed with a tan top and Toasted Caramel interior. A work of art! I can attest this is a superb GT in every way. What an exhaust note!
I am in the same camp. Mine is white with a black top and toasted caramel interior. wonderful for s Sunday outing (like I did with my wife yesterday). Very comfy, a joy to drive yet relaxing. Add a sunny day and you have it all.
I have been lucky enough to have owned 18 New cars in my lifetime, now 64 and an X Porsche mechanic. I would have to say this is the best built enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned. It’s an amazing experience if you enjoy beautiful engineering and Luxury driving. Puts a big smile on your face when you plant that pedal with the V8. This car should be a definite Future Classic!
I was waiting for you to say "Just kidding..." about the leg room in the rear seats. There is ZERO space back there. It's strictly for groceries and a discount on your insurance because it - technically - has 4 seats. But I love the car. Traded an F-Type convertible for one. You can cruise around like a normal person and it's as quiet and comfortable as the LS. But put your foot in it and it's just glorious.
Same here- I was waiting for the punchline after he talked about the rear seats. There is zero legroom- the front seats are up against them. Plus the roofline slopes down and affects headroom- it's a cheater 2+2 for storage/insurance and that's it.
Yes, I too was waiting for a JK. Hmmm, I get why the rear seats are there but to say they are comfortable even on long trips, you kind of lost me there.
I Agree, Soft bags and people who are double leg amputees are comfortable. But the looks, reliability, build quality and the mechanical sound make that "forgivable" The window cleaning of palm marks left by those who just have to look inside is proof that this car is a standout amongst all.
I took delivery of my 2023 LC Convertible last week. The car is truly a piece of driveway jewelry. Simply stunning from every angle. It’s like sitting in a leather cocoon. The track pad is not an issue, maybe in time. Every classic premium car. All cars have quirks, not a game changer for me. Buy one you will be very pleased with it.🏖️
Me too, mine arrived in May and absolutely love it. Worth the 1yr wait. Rarely use the trackpad except for car play. I don't like the look of the new changes, just look like an ipads been stuck on the dash. The finish inside is just stunning.
I have literally only seen one LC500 on the roads here in Belgium…one. And it lives somewhere in my neighbourhood because I often come across it. It’s a black one with tan interior and it looks stunning. I learned a lot more about it thanks to this episode and appreciate it even more now. Thanks Damian!
Finally someone who actually did a lot of research and provided a proper/honest well deserved review of this car. We have other people who knows NOTHING about this car and borrows it for a day and provide garbage review. I appreciate you took your time to provide a great review. Thank you.
ive been subbed to your channel for quite some time. always enjoyed your videos and i must say as an LC500 owner myself, i never expected to see one on your channel, much less such high praise for it, from someone who spends so much time in very high end ferraris, porsches and maybachs. All I have to say is that I agree with almost everything you said, including it's weight being it's biggest disadvantage. Thanks for the lovely 40 minutes of entertainment!
I bought my LC about a month before this video came out and I agree with most of The Car Guy’s assessment. However when he said the rear seats have plenty of leg room I was surprised. I have a 5’8 tall skinny daughter and for her to sit comfortably behind me the seat is so far forward I can’t drive the car. I’m only 5’11.
@@mikegray8029I am 6ft tall and can easily sit behind myself in my normal driving position. The key is to open up your legs as a rear passenger, and have your knees straddling the sides of the backrest of the front seat, and to sort of sink into the seat (rather than sitting straight up as if you are in an SUV). Doing both these things easily gives me sufficient headroom and legroom
Always found this car magnificent and interesting since it launched, it such an overlooked car in my eyes. Great to see Damian giving it the place it deserves.
If you got the performance package it’s even way better ! Variable ratio steering , rear wing deployment, rear steering , carbon fibre roof and door sills , I own one and will never sell ever .(2022)
I have a 5.0 V8 Sport+ and I love it. Not the quickest, but I don’t really care. The smile it’s puts on my face each and every time I get in it….still noticeable after 2yrs. Wonderful to drive & I’ve had a few decent rides over the years. Chose this over Aston, M8, E53 AMG, F type SVR, 911 etc. Love the review. ❤ The rear “seats” are only really usable for my 6yr old daughter. Infotainment is frustrating; rarely use the trackpad-learn the voice commands, miles easier. Highlight of my day is the drive to and from work. 😉
Good review. It's a shame that once again there's so much focus on weight. On the road, the LC feels very agile (in Sport Plus form), and weight isn't really an issue. It's a GT.... a Japanese Aston Martin, within a 10 year warranty! It's a car that is comparitively 'cheap' to run and gets a bag load of attention
Agree, I have no idea why reviewers go on and on about how heavy it is - it's a GT, not a race car - It's only slightly heavier than the Aston Martin DB11 V8 - it's faster to 60, cheaper, and far more reliable, has better tech etc. Of course UK reviewers are never overly criticise AM products, even though they are often pretty terrible - at least this guy is fairly fair, even if he misquotes the hybrid performance for the V8 - important to note that the LC500 is a full second quicker to 60mph than the DB11 V8 - it is not going to be troubled by Golf R's!
@@tlmessage9196 Yeah you are right, I was going of Wikipedia stats which are seemingly just made up when it comes to 0-60 as it stated the LC500 was 3 seconds, when Lexus themselves claim it's only "better than 4.5"
@@Beer_Dad1975 I'd be surprised if it was that. I always figured the lexus 0-60 was closer to 5 than 4, unless they've made recent changes with the newest year.
@@tlmessage9196 in the real world I’d be surprised if any of these power rear wheel drive cars can hit the claimed acceleration figures due to wheel spin. Lexus V8s have an advantage off the line as they tend to have to battle with less torque, and by the time the torque arrives, the car is already moving
Great stuff as always, rare on RUclips to find insightful, informative, honest, balanced car reviews. Would love to try an LC500, always liked the look of them.
They were going to but chickened out now. They want to go full electric . What a shame Lexus! In doesn’t help that we a woke liberal in the White House.
13:05 I know ive been singing praises about this car, but when i took delivery it was riddled with issues. Ive spoken to other owners and none of them have heard anything close to what i went through. Keep in mind my car was literally produced during the height of Covid Feb 22 and i watched lines be shuttered for the LC. Im still working on several nibbles, but its been rough. 2 rear subs, a rear sub interior trim piece, they had to re secure the rear suspension, the windows had to be tilted, i could go on but i wont. All that said i love it dearly and mechanically its perfect.
Two years ago, I picked up my LC in Miami and drove across the state of Florida to its new home. I have been in love with it ever since. Compared to other Lexus cars I have owned, my LC 500 convertible is a perfect BEAST.
Is there really that much utility of a convertible in a year round hot, humid state? Most older people who I know who have had convertibles have given up their convertibles because these are no longer practical since the sun is too hot and they then need to use a hat. The humidity is also an issue and many people simply pop up the roof and put on the AC.
Another great video! I recently test drove an LC500 convertible, and I agree with all your comments. I think the car would look much nicer with a lighter color. Whoever buys this car will have an instant classic! Thank you for taking the time to do this review.
You failed at 19:30 ... The rear seats are suitable only for Double Leg amputees and no place for their respective wheel chairs. This car reminds me (I am Old) of the only 4 door 2 seater vehicles in the entire World, of which I loved a two or three,. A Rover 3500 and its underlings the 2000 and the 2000TC. However the Lotus Evera 1st edition does share one thing, Motors that live to rev. Toyota/Lexus build will outlive creation given servicing and garaging, and yes, it is a beautiful, collector vehicle with a sound that makes electric vehicles redundant for the senses.
Damian, thank you so much for taking the time to show us this gorgeous Lexus! I have always loved the Toyota and Lexus brands and this car is awesome! I would love to see them continue with a 4.0 litre V8 with twin turbo.
Thank you for reviewing this car. Recently I have seen the car in Tokyo while I was driving. It was a sensational looking and I couldn’t believe that is a Japanese car. It looked just elegant and chic. If I had enough money, I would love to be an owner of Lexus LC❤ Best regards from Tokyo😊
I've just discovered Your platform, & I'm very glad I have. Very much enjoyed Your overall presentation on such a beautiful car, & thankfully NO MUSIC. Have just subscribed, Thanks again.
Did not expect you to review this car! Another excellent watch. How is Lexus build quality and reliability, so far ahead of all other manufacturers? Not to mention their dealer service!
Damien best review I have watched on Lc500 highlighting pluses and minuses . I think a 3/4 year old at £65k ish makes it a more palatable proposition with Lexus renowned excellent reliability record. Did consider one at this price point but bought AlpineA110 GT instead as like Lexus liked the rarity but went for the fun bit . Hope you get opportunity of doing more reviews of dealer cars
Another fantastic and detailed review on an underrated car. I thought I wanted one before but now I really want one. Much more practical than I thought they were, especially the rear seats. You have honed your review style and presentation to some of the very best out there, really is a treat to watch. 🙂
It's very good looking, but... do not have near the driver quality's of similar models BMW, Mercedes and Audi .Of course is much better than anything what jaguar have .
Excellent, greatly enjoyed your review impressions, and the direct comparison of proportions to the LFA was indeed astonishing. Congratulations on 100k!! I went into a Lexus dealership some years back for another reason and they happened to have a silver LC500 with caramel interior on display. I was completely taken and nearly forgot what I came there for. Such unique design and craftmanship, subdued futuristic and exquisite. I would have been in deep trouble to give that back after a week. Thankfully they did not ask :)
Remarkable endorsement by D. Seats better than a Maybach (super MB S Class), Ferrari quips (very few of us would have enough exposure to say with authority) and casual similarities to F type (unexpected, at first). Ohhh, that V8 sound. Never gets old. Would be curious to see how LC with sports pkg (torsen diff + rear steer) compares on winding roads vs GS F or RC F with the Torque Vectoring diff. Also, how about LC 500 vs Aston? Motor Trend originally noted LC lost comparison by only 1 point, and price was not factored in.
Bad choice, ruined a classic interior with a bolted on iPad just to silence critics who only drive the car for a few days. Us long term owners think it’s fine. Takes a while to get used to, but no fingerprints to clean daily.
Hi Damien, brilliant video and review. You nailed it with your observations on the LC500. I bought a one in green with ochre / tan interior for many of the same reasons - it’s different, it’s the top model, it is beautiful to look at and is beautifully built with the best interior design, ever. But the main reasons were that it was different, nobody buys them (why the f@£k not?) and it is fundamentally an ‘old school’ car. The LC500 doesn’t have stop start, it’s not even there to turn off, which in 2023 is unheard of. When I picked up mine when new, the safety features were switched off! If you want lane keep assist and sway warning etc, you have to turn them on! That’s how it should be. Being naturally aspirated you have to build revs to get power and from over 6000rpm it’s unreal. Having no turbos does lower the 0-60 time but who cares. The car is so much more than stats and anyone buying one likely doesn’t care; it is more than the sum of its parts. I have a few more things I think make the LC special to me: It bounces off the redline with a noise that makes you laugh out loud If the car is warm and you park up / turn it off, when you return and start the engine, it blips the throttle to 2700rpm for no reason and is totally unnecessary but is ace. You can’t start the car warm quietly! The rear tail lights at night are so cool and unique, they are worth £100k on their own No stop start or ‘nanny’ safety features Car will do over 30mpg on a long run or 6mpg when you thrash it Quick point about the trackpad / tech in the LC, I totally get your thoughts but will say that you do get used it. It’s part of that old school character as well and allows the amazing sweeping dash design. You will buy one. I know this because when you were driving it fast your tongue was sticking out, just like when you drove Jason’s GR Yaris 🤣 Take care and thanks for the work you put into your channel.
@@TheCarGuysTV Thanks Damien. Keep doing what you do; awesome channel. Navy blue with ochre / tan interior, Sport+, optional head up display and Mark Levinson. Just saying…
I have an '18 - same colour as reviewed here. I've had so much fun with it, and zero problems. I now have just over 34,000 miles on the OD - barely broken in. The 10 speed automatic doesn't shift in to top gear until around 80 mph, and that is when it really starts to show its bones. The big mistake people make is thinking this is a hot rod sports car. It is not. It is grand tourer and consequently a bit on the heavy side. It reminds me of a Porsche 928 I once owned. There is nothing I have found that comes close to the smooth quiet and relaxed ride around town. If it weren't for the looks it would just be another mudane everyday driver. Numb and effortless. But twist the right knob just to the right of the gauge panel to sport plus and it instantly becomes a firebreathing dragon that will scorch anything within sight. The sound alone gives grannies heart attacks. It is a BEAST!
Gorgeous Timeless Car!! Love it!! Extra Bonus, Lexus Top Notch Reliability makes this car a future Timeless Collectors Item. Unlike certain unname "Luxury" cars that are notorious for its High Maintance Cost, Prone to breakdown with Insane repair Cost. Its No Contest For me, I'll take LC500 over any Mercedes, Bimmer or Audi...Especially used one...Lexus all the way...I dont want to deal with constant Convexity of Breakdown, repair cost of some of the other "Luxury" cars... LC500 - LOVE IT!! Dream Car😍😍😍😍😍
Damien, it’s a pitty you haven’t tried to switch off all assistance and traction control. That is absolutely must in this Lexus! We have the car for about year (2019 with rear wing) and once you switch all off the car is realy like night and day. So different. I dont say it’s a super sport but it’s realy like 2 car in 1 and it’s missing in this video. If you have chance again definitely worthy. Thanks for all nice videos!
Proper motor. No turbos, no stop start, and nobody else has one. Get a convertible, they’re ace - smaller boot, smaller rear seats, still feels stiff and MORE NOISE. And a ten year warranty in the UK - what’s not to like! 100k subs - congrats 👍
16:15 I was waiting for you to get to this. I happen to like the track pad. Here is why. My screen never gets dirty, i can always hit my mark opposed to me trying to focus on my mark my finger bouncing around while I'm driving forcing me to hit it a few times or hold on to the outside to stabilize my hand. I race motorcycles. Im not 90 I know how to touch. And i see this issue on all all cars with all drivers when they drive i watch it happen. And i say to myself THIS is better? Meanwhile my screen is nice, i always hit my mark, i fail to get why you guys are so gun ho on touch. For driving the reality is it makes little sense for the reasons i just stated but hey I'm just one man.
It’s fashionable to trash talk the Lexus infotainment controls, just let them whine. There’s nothing us people who know can do to convince the luddites 😂
Very interesting, indeed! I remember JayEmm saying it was an Aston alternative; it seems like it's how a modern Aston should be rather than how they are. It's a proper gentleman's GT with a somewhat brutish sound. I also like that it's different and rare because few people bouught one. They are expensive new, but every alternative is more so. I'd patiently look for a used one spec'd as you would spec one new. The other good thing is that unlike its rivals its powertrain should last and shouldn't be needy and frighteningly expensive to maintain as it ages, although the interior tech will age more than most. I guess that its weight means suspension components will be what ends up needing to be replaced the most, but that is the case for all modern GT cars. Thank you for this truly excellent review!
Car is super underrated. People are so quick to overlook these cars and other Lexus cars and go for BMW and Mercedes. Sure, there are other your German brands that have better power and updated but gotta realize. Lexus is still a Toyota. This car will never break. You are spending less on maintenance, less in the shop, spend more on the streets.
I currently drive a Lexus NX, my first experience of the marque and I have been pleasently impressed. Looking to the future, I am hoping as my requirements change to have another GT and the LC500 certainly seems to fit the bill. So thank you very much for an excellent review, which was certainly up there with those of JayEmm and has put it at the top of my shortlist.
Well presented video of a beautiful car indeed, apart from the price of course. I've wanted one of these since they were introduced but never having bought a brand new car ever, I've waited for the second hand market. Unfortunately it appears someone sold Lexus a shed load of orange alcantara which the majority of second hand cars have and I don't like. I'll keep looking and perhaps one day I'll find a car with leather seats at a price I feel comfortable with.
I am not a Lexus fan. This does not mean that I don’t like Lexus; they make great high quality cars. But, it is not for me. However, as always, I loved watching the video and this is down to the enthusiasm of Damian
I was lucky enough to drive one of these around Goodwood a couple of years ago with Lexus. Really comfortable car with a great soundtrack. Amazed they didn't sell more. As you say the quality of the build was second to none. Think I'd have one in yellow or orange given the chance.
The back seats do not have much space? If you move the forward seats a bit forward, how much space do you have in the front which should be comfortable for the back people as well?
Truely the spiritual successor to the 90s SC, another beautiful car that I regret selling so bad.. This is achingly handsome.. Japan's answer to the Aston not the 911 for sure
Got to admit I wasn’t sure about the looks at first with that huge grill. But weirdly it look much better without a plate on it (if only). Think in the red it looks SO much better and that one’s interior is way to drab for me. Lovely car and like you said different which is usually good in my book. Great review as always Damian. You deffo need to drive it’s little brother too. 👌
It's a "State of the Art", underrated, underestimated Jewelry nowaday cars. Admiring this one as LC500h, while I am driving another Lexus Hybrid. You have to own one to understand the fine texture of a desirable, eficient dreamcar.
Great car I have wanted one in the orange since they came out unfortunately never many that colour in the classified market and it is no longer on the configurator the price new would mean I wouldn't be buying new anyway sadly. Thanks for the video and the engine sounds superb.
They never made it in orange, only orange alcantara in the release edition model. The RCF comes that colour tho. You could always do what I did, but the interior you like then get a vinyl wrap…
I’m so glad you reviewed this car. It’s so cool! I remember walking by one in bright yellow and I had to do a double take. I was wondering what you would talk about for 40 minutes but as I watched the video, I became hooked by the story and your enthusiasm! Much like the honda nsx. I’m wondering whether this car will suddenly find its place in collectors’ garages. This was a brilliant video and as a Lambo guy, the content and graphics in this video especially the part where you could see the engine through the body of the car were just outstanding and the review was one of the best I’ve ever seen you do. I’m thinking this car could replace my Audi A5 45 TFSI which is my current runaround. Well done!
A gem. The RC GT3 version is turning heads in IMSA endurance competition, proving the concept and winning over the likes of Porsche, Ferrari and other renowned marques. I lust after one of these, I’ll snatch a good one off lease return in time like the 03 GS350 I picked up for the price of a new Celica with barely 50 k miles and still under full warranty. One of the prettiest sedans and she’ll lift up the skirts and fly when needed. An hour at 135 across a desert hooked up with a ‘vette and an m class bimmer with the stereo blasting and the car cruising along like it was nothing, the wife asked how fast we were going- oh, a hundred or so…

Thank you for finally reviewing this awesome vehicle. Very under-appreciated and I own a convertible one in InfraRed with a tan top and Toasted Caramel interior. A work of art! I can attest this is a superb GT in every way. What an exhaust note!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent taste. What a stunning spec that must be. 👍
The toasted caramel interior is fantastic. I own a GS F V8 Lex sedan that I love. I will never sell it, it will outlive me!
Congrats.
I am in the same camp. Mine is white with a black top and toasted caramel interior. wonderful for s Sunday outing (like I did with my wife yesterday). Very comfy, a joy to drive yet relaxing. Add a sunny day and you have it all.
I've got a 2018 in the same colors and have had it almost five years. WHAT A CAR! Best car in production today.
That's a proper motor car, and one of the finest sounding in history.
Congratulations on 100K, long overdue.
Thanks, Andrew
I took delivery of my 2023 LC Convertible last week. The car is truly a piece of driveway jewelry. Simply stunning from every angle. It’s like sitting in a leather cocoon. The track pad is not an issue, maybe in time. Every classic premium car. All cars have quirks, not a game changer for me. Buy one you will be very pleased with it.🏖️
👍🏻👍🏻
Me too, mine arrived in May and absolutely love it. Worth the 1yr wait. Rarely use the trackpad except for car play. I don't like the look of the new changes, just look like an ipads been stuck on the dash. The finish inside is just stunning.
Have you tried Voice Command in place of the track pad? If so, does it work well?
I'm 'on the fence on this LC 500, awaiting a 2025 update or a Mercedes AMG GT/CLE55.
@@edmundcharles5278 Get the LC. It's awesome
👍🏻👍🏻
Seeing these in person, it's like a show car made real. The contours and details are next level.
Definitely a future classic!
I think these are one of the best looking cars on the road , at any price .
Absolutely stunning car , especially in the dark red metallic colour 👍🏻
They look far better too once you change the wheels to something aftermarket
The factory ones are very tacky and detract from the overall style
Finally someone who actually did a lot of research and provided a proper/honest well deserved review of this car. We have other people who knows NOTHING about this car and borrows it for a day and provide garbage review. I appreciate you took your time to provide a great review. Thank you.
Thank you very much, I appreciate that
ive been subbed to your channel for quite some time. always enjoyed your videos and i must say as an LC500 owner myself, i never expected to see one on your channel, much less such high praise for it, from someone who spends so much time in very high end ferraris, porsches and maybachs. All I have to say is that I agree with almost everything you said, including it's weight being it's biggest disadvantage. Thanks for the lovely 40 minutes of entertainment!
You are very welcome, Kevin. It’s my guilty pleasure
@@KevGoesRiding Someone who is adaptable and has a brain. Rare combination.
Definitely a dream car for me and criminally overlooked.
Always found this car magnificent and interesting since it launched, it such an overlooked car in my eyes. Great to see Damian giving it the place it deserves.
Agree entirely - no-one was talking about it
If you got the performance package it’s even way better ! Variable ratio steering , rear wing deployment, rear steering , carbon fibre roof and door sills , I own one and will never sell ever .(2022)
I have an LC 500 and there is no way on earth that you were going to fit anybody in that backseat unless they were an amputee
I thought he was going to end the sentence with "if he has no legs"
Yeah- that back seat area needs fixing, maybe through a fold down option from the trunk area! The LC500 sorely lacks storage space- no excuse here!
@@edmundcharles5278it’s a sport coupe, I’m not tryna argue but it’s a a very small con of most mid range sporty coupes.
Hey,how about Toulouse-Lotrec,don't be so inconsiderate.
Absolutely love the LC, always get excited to see one on the road
I love the LC500, especially with the Caramel Tan interior.
The rear “seats” are only really usable for my 6yr old daughter. Infotainment is frustrating; rarely use the trackpad-learn the voice commands, miles easier.
Highlight of my day is the drive to and from work. 😉
👍🏻👍🏻
I want a lc500. Im currently daily driving a Supra. I’ll probably get one when I retire in 5 years, as a gift to myself.
This was a car that pretty much passed me by until recently - but it seems like a car that does an awful lot right, and really deserves more love...
@Beer_Dad everything I've seen says the db11 has a 0-60 of 3.9
@@tlmessage9196 Yeah you are right, I was going of Wikipedia stats which are seemingly just made up when it comes to 0-60 as it stated the LC500 was 3 seconds, when Lexus themselves claim it's only "better than 4.5"
@@Beer_Dad1975 I'd be surprised if it was that.
Much appreciated
Class review, thank you. When I get one of these I will hug it daily.
I really hope they do a ‘f’ version of this and make it considerably lighter. Love them.
They were going to but chickened out now. They want to go full electric . What a shame Lexus! In doesn’t help that we a woke liberal in the White House.
I love it’s Lexus daring avant-garde styling and Toyota reliability.
Lease German cars...buy Lexus! It's that simple...
That is awesome!
Is there really that much utility of a convertible in a year round hot, humid state? Most older people who I know who have had convertibles have given up their convertibles because these are no longer practical since the sun is too hot and they then need to use a hat. The humidity is also an issue and many people simply pop up the roof and put on the AC.
Simply the most desirable car on the road. At any price. Just incredible.
Your reviews are really good. You have an ability to inform me without annoying me - something most car youtubers fail at. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks, Chris
Damian, thank you so much for taking the time to show us this gorgeous Lexus! I have always loved the Toyota and Lexus brands and this car is awesome! I would love to see them continue with a 4.0 litre V8 with twin turbo.
Glad you enjoyed it, Fred
Thank you for a excellent in depth review. I now know I want one 👍🏼👍🏼😁
👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for reviewing this car. Recently I have seen the car in Tokyo while I was driving. It was a sensational looking and I couldn’t believe that is a Japanese car. It looked just elegant and chic. If I had enough money, I would love to be an owner of Lexus LC❤
Best regards from Tokyo😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've just discovered Your platform, & I'm very glad I have. Very much enjoyed Your overall presentation on such a beautiful car, & thankfully NO MUSIC. Have just subscribed, Thanks again.
Welcome aboard!
Did not expect you to review this car! Another excellent watch. How is Lexus build quality and reliability, so far ahead of all other manufacturers? Not to mention their dealer service!
One of the best car reviews I have watched! Lexus LC 500 is certainly on my "wish list"!! Not ready to give up my Corvette yet.
Thanks, Alex, I'm glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for putting the LFA and LC500 together i want a LC500

Glad you enjoyed it, my friend
Remarkable endorsement by D. Seats better than a Maybach (super MB S Class), Ferrari quips (very few of us would have enough exposure to say with authority) and casual similarities to F type (unexpected, at first). Ohhh, that V8 sound. Never gets old. Would be curious to see how LC with sports pkg (torsen diff + rear steer) compares on winding roads vs GS F or RC F with the Torque Vectoring diff. Also, how about LC 500 vs Aston? Motor Trend originally noted LC lost comparison by only 1 point, and price was not factored in.
As an FYI, I've just noticed the 2024 LC500 will have a number of updates including a 12.3 inch touch screen and deletion of the touch pad.
Huzzah!
I have a few more things I think make the LC special to me:
It bounces off the redline with a noise that makes you laugh out loud
If the car is warm and you park up / turn it off, when you return and start the engine, it blips the throttle to 2700rpm for no reason and is totally unnecessary but is ace. You can’t start the car warm quietly!
The rear tail lights at night are so cool and unique, they are worth £100k on their own
No stop start or ‘nanny’ safety features
Car will do over 30mpg on a long run or 6mpg when you thrash it
Quick point about the trackpad / tech in the LC, I totally get your thoughts but will say that you do get used it. It’s part of that old school character as well and allows the amazing sweeping dash design.
You will buy one. I know this because when you were driving it fast your tongue was sticking out, just like when you drove Jason’s GR Yaris 🤣
Take care and thanks for the work you put into your channel.
Thanks for your brilliant comments, Matthew. It’s for people like you that I make these videos for.
@@TheCarGuysTV Thanks Damien. Keep doing what you do; awesome channel.

Couldn’t agree more - so glad you’re living the Lexus dream - thanks for sharing.
Drove the hybrid last autumn and liked it very much. Could easily live with one of these instead of a more expensive 992 Carrera
Thanks, Robert. It’s not missing - those systems were all turned off
Proper motor. No turbos, no stop start, and nobody else has one. Get a convertible, they’re ace - smaller boot, smaller rear seats, still feels stiff and MORE NOISE. And a ten year warranty in the UK - what’s not to like! 100k subs - congrats 👍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Loved the video, congrats on 100k. Very well deserved
Thanks, Jac
Crazily underrated - if the boys on the original top gear had reviewed it, it would have been a whole different story.
Great review as always the Lexus is one of my favourites great car make mine red!
You’ve hit the nail on the head - it’s everything an Aston should be
Car is super underrated.
2+2?!!!!! I thought that was sarcasm initial but wow!
Thank you, Martin
Great video! I literally just bought one of these, in white too!
Amazing! Congrats
Gorgeous car, looks even better in real life 👍🚘😎
Well presented video of a beautiful car indeed, apart from the price of course.

Glad you included the weight and the fact that it has body roll. Need a car that doesn't feel heavy.
I am not a Lexus fan. This does not mean that I don’t like Lexus; they make great high quality cars. But, it is not for me. However, as always, I loved watching the video and this is down to the enthusiasm of Damian

As an owner of a 2018 performance pack version, I love it.
What's it like been rich? Pretty sweet I bet.
I was lucky enough to drive one of these around Goodwood a couple of years ago with Lexus. Really comfortable car with a great soundtrack. Amazed they didn't sell more. As you say the quality of the build was second to none. Think I'd have one in yellow or orange given the chance.
👍🏻👍🏻
