The false teachings of JW organization is telling us that the leaders are not guided by the Holy Spirit, also called the Spirit of Truth by Jesus. They predicted the end of this world in 1914, but that did not happened either. Read the book "Light`' by J. F. Rutherford.

They never stopped pointing to 1914. I like that expression New Light never contradicts Old Light. I will use it when I encounter witnesses that I know who ask how I am doing. That happened today but I hadn't watched your video yet.

A very good example of how true prophets never speak false prophesies is in regards to Moses. When Moses struck the rock the second time to bring forth water, he attributed it to himself. Yet notice that God still honored Moses' actions by bringing out water from the rock. So if a prophet is truly speaking for God, even if he goes about it wrong, God will still honor the prophecy for his own name-sake. And remember that Balaam was hired to curse God's people, yet he kept pronouncing blessings for Israel.

The moment the overlapping generation was published was the moment I became stuck - never understood a thing after that. I guess it was a signal that I was on my way out of the organization. Well I thought that the new Bible would also read; this overlapping generation will by no means pass away.

When you were a JW and if someone asked you about “New Light” and if this is truly Jehovah’s organization how can Watchtower get so many things wrong if in biblical times Gods prophets NEVER got the message wrong.... what would your answer be? No, that question would not have made me question whether this was truly God's organization because posing that question was considered the unforgivable sin. We were not allowed to question at all.
My sympathies for how your family and friends have stayed distant. And you are of course, 100% correct. New light can not contradict old light. The WT takes a verse speaking of one growing in holiness (new light) to mean something simply not in the text and never taught in 1800+ years of Christianity. Regarding Matthew 24... one sees here the prediction of Jesus during his ministry (30-33 ad) of the destruction of Jerusalem and of the temple. This was cataclysmic, for those living under the Law. The event of course DID happen within a generation, exactly really in 70 ad. _34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away._ When Christ DOES come, all will see him as he ascended. There will be no mystery, no invisibility. Heaven announce his coming ... there will be no secrecy.

We are made in the image and likeness of God which in part, means that we are rational / reasoned beings and that we are to use our intellect to ascertain truth. But the intellect must be informed. When the reasoning abilities are stunted, even shutdown because of commands to only read WT literature, one can be swayed in error. Jesus calls us sheep for a reason. And most inconsistently, very confusing to me, the Watchtower tacitly trusts the authority of late 4th c Catholic bishops to even know what books belong in the New World Translation. They use the very same New Testament / Greek 27 books out of 300+ early Christian writings as first declared as scripture by these Bishops. All this despite a great corruption in WT's view which tainted the true faith by 300 years at that point. And despite all these Bishops professing that Jesus was God incarnate. One can search JW.org and find neither this question nor it's answer. I have struggled with many of their teachings for a lot of years but covid was the final straw. I saw a lot of bitterness and condemnation among the friends concerning being vaccinated and wearing masks. There are many good qualities to admire but I made the conscious decision for my children and I to step back because the love that is required among Christ's followers was lacking in so many of the friends
When I left the false organization, the young lady who did my Bible study called me, I knew why- I was waiting:) No matter what I said she used some scripture to try and prove me wrong. The Messiah was being shown the temple walls by his disciples prompting him to say that a stone not being left upon a stone. They then asked him when. He replied with "this" generation would not pass away until all these things occur. True to his word the temple fell in 70CE, some 37 years later. And in Luke 10:18 he said "I beheld Satan fall like lightning from heaven". My post JW research has led me to believe that none of this had anything to do with 1914; that all of this was likely a first century event. There's so much more that ought to be said on this matter.
I know I'm late to the party, 4 year old video. I just discovered your channel. I have a past with JWs. I grew up next door to a JW family who had a son about my age. They tried all those years to convert me. I went to a Kingdom Hall once and got into trouble with my father. I started researching the Watchtower org about the time the internet took off and I could afford my own PC. What was told to me in the 1960s was what you mentioned. Those that witnessed the events of 1914 (world war 1) would live to see the end of things. This family was convinced the end was coming in 1975. The mother would get all excited when ever there was an earthquake somewhere ort some other natural disaster. She would exclaim "see, its happening already!" The thoughts at the time were that WWI was such a huge calamity at a scale not seen before, it marked the beginning of the end. Thats how the family explained it to me. I never heard about an invisible return of Jesus. That was never mentioned to me in the 60s and early 70s by the family. I never heard about the Org being chosen by Jesus after 3 years either although their inference that they were God's chosen people was quite strong.

I read the Bible through and have become a very strong believer in Jesus Christ who died for me and saved me. He provides salvation for free, for you and for me. It’s a simple prayer to turn from our ways, to his ways and put our faith and trust in him.

Ask a JW this: If it’s not the truth, how do think JW’s should be judged? ... It’s my fave question. I’ve not asked but they’ll probably say they’d be judged well, because it’s all they know. But then think about how they think everyone else will be judged badly; doesn’t make sense...Does anyone have any experience asking a Witness this question?

About three years ago, I asked a Bethelite elder this very question. He said now the teaching is that it’s the children or grandchildren of those who witnessed the events of 1914 who are the generation that is still alive. This explanation gives them a few more years to hoodwink the flock.
When I was a jehivas witness I was scared for my family that were not because they told us when the Vietnam War started in 1964 they told us that by 1967 WAS THE end Armageddon was coming that we were to perpare for it now I was scared because I didn't want my family to be destroyed for not being in the truth I dreaded the moment but 1967 came and went when I told the brothers some mistakes that the watchtower made they threaten to disfellowship me I got mad and for the second time that I had confronted them for being wrong I told them as before who are you'll following Jehova God or the watchtower society are they your God's they called me the rebel brother then they started to discriminate me not all of them but some of them because I was the only Spanish brother in that city in Conn that was the last straw I packed and left to California then to Texas I lived in Hartford and preached in New Britian and worked in weathersfield conn in a milk dairy I was in love with a sister named Mary wheeler and was told to Stay away from her because I was Spanish and if Mary still aliveand reading this she knows who I am well I never went back to the kingdom hall and the world didn't end in 1967
Anyone got any suggestions for witnessing to a 74 year old woman who was born into a jw family but didn't accept the jw religion until early adulthood who has limited sight and has serious memory issues. Her family is mostly deceased except for two nephews and a niece. Not sure if she makes it to the meetings much but she does go to the nieces house to watch the national convention on TV. New revelations contradict older revelations when the original is in error. Saying Jesus had returned in spirit form in 1914 was a clever way of saying "prove us wrong" without them losing face. The timing of The Great War would solidify their feeling that Armageddon was upon them. Unfortunately, it was not and admitting that error as well would only serve their prediction had failed. I find intriguing that Armageddon remains their focus on fixing everything spiritually wrong with the world as if they haven't learned a thing. Yet like the world, it's about the pride of thinking it doesn't have to admit error. I recall being told of the return of Jesus in 1975. I turned 19, joined the navy, and had met a number of people who knew Jesus. None saw him return. Worse, the original reason Jehovah's Witness gave in 1914 had outlived itself and they were now without excuse when 1975 also came and went without fulfillment. Some day they will be right for all the wrong reasons. The people within it aren't the enemy. Cheers
I have a brother and friends just like you that shun me and one day it came across to me you know what if they were true friends they wouldn't shine you and if he was a true brother they wouldn't be he wouldn't be shutting me so to me they're all dead and after that I have felt so much better and don't even look back

Oh yeah! When I was in, it was the generation that was born around 1900 (the ones old enough to determine that something "had occurred" in 1914) that would not pass away. That generation was about 89 years old when I got out and would be 119 years old today. lol
They claim to study the Bible but they never found Jesus why is that because they are told to disregard him Jehovah will guide them thru men it's the same old story history repeats itself but the witnesses don't study history

Now if the verse read like this everyone would follow Watchtower no questions asked. Let's see how it really goes though. John 3:16 For (God) so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. In my personal opinion though I think that should have been phrased whosoever believeth in them because in another verse Jesus is equal to God. What do you think???

A generation in the bible is primarily the age of a man when his first male child is born; but secondarily, the age of a man at his death. The bible then rounds the exact span of years in a "generation" to be 40 and 100 years as the primary usage, but on occasion, "70 years". And 70 is the average of 40 and 100, which allow the three timeframes to work in numeric harmony to produce the numeric symmetry found throughout the bible. The usage of the 100-year generation predominates in the bible (prior) to the time of Moses when men lived longer, but 40 years after Moses. A generation of 70 years is also inferred in the book of Enoch and Jubilees, and is highly compatible with the jubilee system of the bible itself, (Daniel 9) This idea of a overlapping generation of the WT was taken from a (business model) It was first formulated in 1947, in the context of a pure-exchange economy, by Maurice Allais. It has been expanded to include other overlapping models. Because must JW’s do not use research material other than that supplied by the WT organization they would be unaware of where this model approach was taken from. In any event this overlapping model could never be applied to this generation simply because the time line of the post generation from Moses to date in what a generation length is has far exceeded a “ biblical time line generation “ It’s as you stated they would never admit there mistake on this generation garble, it would sink there 🛳 as it were. 4:25 into the video: " Because since the birth of Gods Kindom 1914 the devil has been hurled down to the Earth." Quoted from a Watchtower litterature. As a matter of fact the devil showed up as "an angel of light" already in the seventh century. He introduced himself as Gabriel the archangel, to Muhammed, (in the Bible "the false prophet"). The angel totaly contradicted what Gabriel in the first place had told Mary the Virgin, so he must have been the devil in disguise. At this moment the power of God´s Kingdom became established in heaven. Rev.12:10 Where did the GB get 1914 from? It´s most likely a false doctrin.
1914 works for the last generation because the last generation must begin with a world war. But the only thing that the events were leading up to was the return of Christ. Not Armageddon. After Christ returns he has to seal the elect. That wasn't included. They just wanted to know the signs that would lead up to the second coming. Having noted that, Matthew 24:29 says "Immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days... the sign of the son of man will appear in the heavens..." So the great tribulation is over before Christ returns. Where JWs go wrong is that the "great tribulation" of Matthew is not the Armageddon tribulation of Revelation. The tribulation of Matthew is a reference to the HOLOCAUST. And the "end of the system of things" is also not Armageddon, but the "end of the gentile times," or the "appointed times of the nations," which ended on November 29, 1947. So as many things there are that JWs get wrong, they are still the chosen "temple in its right condition after 2300 evenings and mornings." Thus they must preach the good news worldwide before the "end" comes. So in early 1947, NH Knorr literally went on a worldwide preaching tour, confirming the "good news" had reached a worldwide audience within Christendom. And then the "end" came on November 29th. So that was fulfilled in 1947. In other words, all the signs were fulfilled including the end of the system of things and the great tribulation by 1947. The only thing that had to happen was for the second coming to take place. We now know that Xerxes and Artaxerxes I were the same king and that Xerxes faked his death to claim he was his own son. That entails removing 82 fake years from the Persian timeline, lowering the popular return in 537 BCE back down to 455 BCE. The "70 weeks" prophecy must begin with the "word goes forth to rebuild Jerusalem," which is an obvious fulfillment in the 1st of Cyrus when the Jews first returned. Thus correcting the timeline, Jerusalem does not fall in 607 BCE but in 529 BCE. How so? A 70-year period of exile began in year 23 of Nebuchadnezzar II, the year of the last deportation (Jer. 52:30) That means year 23 of Nebuchadnezzar II occurred in 525 BCE. Jerusalem fell in year 19, 4 years earlier in 529 BCE. Even so, JWs fulfill many prophecies during our time, most notably the "lamb-dragon beast out of the earth," and the "man of lawlessness" who rises up in God's own house. Well the whole reason behind our new light is that Satan wants to replace Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the light of the world and there is a bible verse saying so. Satan hates this and wishes to replace him. Jesus Christ is the old light while Satan wishes to be the new light. We can cover the verse Satan got so jealous about. A very good example of how true prophets never speak false prophesies is in regards to Moses. When Moses struck the rock the second time to bring forth water, he attributed it to himself. Yet notice that God still honored Moses' actions by bringing out water from the rock. So if a prophet is truly speaking for God, even if he goes about it wrong, God will still honor the prophecy for his own name-sake.
And remember that Balaam was hired to curse God's people, yet he kept pronouncing blessings for Israel.

The moment the overlapping generation was published was the moment I became stuck - never understood a thing after that. I guess it was a signal that I was on my way out of the organization. Well I thought that the new Bible would also read; this overlapping generation will by no means pass away.

When you were a JW and if someone asked you about “New Light” and if this is truly Jehovah’s organization how can Watchtower get so many things wrong if in biblical times Gods prophets NEVER got the message wrong.... what would your answer be? No, that question would not have made me question whether this was truly God's organization because posing that question was considered the unforgivable sin. We were not allowed to question at all.
My sympathies for how your family and friends have stayed distant. And you are of course, 100% correct. New light can not contradict old light. The WT takes a verse speaking of one growing in holiness (new light) to mean something simply not in the text and never taught in 1800+ years of Christianity. Regarding Matthew 24... one sees here the prediction of Jesus during his ministry (30-33 ad) of the destruction of Jerusalem and of the temple. This was cataclysmic, for those living under the Law. The event of course DID happen within a generation, exactly really in 70 ad.

Right. That's part of the plan of deception. Truth mixed with falsehood to sway the intellect. We are made in the image and likeness of God which in part, means that we are rational / reasoned beings and that we are to use our intellect to ascertain truth. But the intellect must be informed. When the reasoning abilities are stunted, even shutdown because of commands to only read WT literature, one can be swayed in error. Jesus calls us sheep for a reason. And most inconsistently, very confusing to me, the Watchtower tacitly trusts the authority of late 4th c Catholic bishops to even know what books belong in the New World Translation. They use the very same New Testament / Greek 27 books out of 300+ early Christian writings as first declared as scripture by these Bishops. All this despite a great corruption in WT's view which tainted the true faith by 300 years at that point. And despite all these Bishops professing that Jesus was God incarnate.
One can search JW.org and find neither this question nor it's answer. The Organization is silent as to how this can be, using a Trinitarian book.

I have struggled with many of their teachings for a lot of years but covid was the final straw. I saw a lot of bitterness and condemnation among the friends concerning being vaccinated and wearing masks. There are many good qualities to admire but I made the conscious decision for my children and I to step back because the love that is required among Christ's followers was lacking in so many of the friends

The Messiah was being shown the temple walls by his disciples prompting him to say that a stone not being left upon a stone. They then asked him when. He replied with "this" generation would not pass away until all these things occur. True to his word the temple fell in 70CE, some 37 years later. And in Luke 10:18 he said "I beheld Satan fall like lightning from heaven". My post JW research has led me to believe that none of this had anything to do with 1914; that all of this was likely a first century event. There's so much more that ought to be said on this matter.

I know I'm late to the party, 4 year old video. I just discovered your channel. I have a past with JWs. I grew up next door to a JW family who had a son about my age. They tried all those years to convert me. I went to a Kingdom Hall once and got into trouble with my father. I started researching the Watchtower org about the time the internet took off and I could afford my own PC.
What was told to me in the 1960s was what you mentioned. Those that witnessed the events of 1914 (world war 1) would live to see the end of things. This family was convinced the end was coming in 1975. The mother would get all excited when ever there was an earthquake somewhere ort some other natural disaster. She would exclaim "see, its happening already!" The thoughts at the time were that WWI was such a huge calamity at a scale not seen before, it marked the beginning of the end. Thats how the family explained it to me.
I never heard about an invisible return of Jesus. That was never mentioned to me in the 60s and early 70s by the family. I never heard about the Org being chosen by Jesus after 3 years either although their inference that they were God's chosen people was quite strong.

lalo 26 yes. I made a video about why I left the organization and it states how I found God after I researched the religion. I read the Bible through and have become a very strong believer in Jesus Christ who died for me and saved me. He provides salvation for free, for you and for me. It’s a simple prayer to turn from our ways, to his ways and put our faith and trust in him.

About three years ago, I asked a Bethelite elder this very question. He said now the teaching is that it’s the children or grandchildren of those who witnessed the events of 1914 who are the generation that is still alive. This explanation gives them a few more years to hoodwink the flock.

When I was a jehivas witness I was scared for my family that were not because they told us when the Vietnam War started in 1964 they told us that by 1967 WAS THE end Armageddon was coming that we were to perpare for it now I was scared because I didn't want my family to be destroyed for not being in the truth I dreaded the moment but 1967 came and went when I told the brothers some mistakes that the watchtower made they threaten to disfellowship me I got mad and for the second time that I had confronted them for being wrong I told them as before who are you'll following Jehova God or the watchtower society are they your God's they called me the rebel brother then they started to discriminate me not all of them but some of them because I was the only Spanish brother in that city in Conn that was the last straw I packed and left to California then to Texas I lived in Hartford and preached in New Britian and worked in weathersfield conn in a milk dairy I was in love with a sister named Mary wheeler and was told to Stay away from her because I was Spanish and if Mary still aliveand reading this she knows who I am well I never went back to the kingdom hall and the world didn't end in 1967

Anyone got any suggestions for witnessing to a 74 year old woman who was born into a jw family but didn't accept the jw religion until early adulthood who has limited sight and has serious memory issues. Her family is mostly deceased except for two nephews and a niece. Not sure if she makes it to the meetings much but she does go to the nieces house to watch the national convention on TV. New revelations contradict older revelations when the original is in error. Saying Jesus had returned in spirit form in 1914 was a clever way of saying "prove us wrong" without them losing face. The timing of The Great War would solidify their feeling that Armageddon was upon them. Unfortunately, it was not and admitting that error as well would only serve their prediction had failed.
I find intriguing that Armageddon remains their focus on fixing everything spiritually wrong with the world as if they haven't learned a thing. Yet like the world, it's about the pride of thinking it doesn't have to admit error. I recall being told of the return of Jesus in 1975. I turned 19, joined the navy, and had met a number of people who knew Jesus. None saw him return. Worse, the original reason Jehovah's Witness gave in 1914 had outlived itself and they were now without excuse when 1975 also came and went without fulfillment. This "New Light"doctrine is when the Heavenly Father(Abba), the God of all Truth,who could not and would not lie.But would knowingly and deliberately give false information to his servants until a truer knowledge is revealed at a later stage in time.That is essentially what this "New Light Doctrine" is!As you said with truth,God has never dealt with any of his servants,prophets,etc..in this way!(1 Corinthians 14:33)"God is not a Author of Confusion,but of peace." Oh yeah! When I was in, it was the generation that was born around 1900 (the ones old enough to determine that something "had occurred" in 1914) that would not pass away. That generation was about 89 years old when I got out and would be 119 years old today. lol
They claim to study the Bible but they never found Jesus why is that because they are told to disregard him Jehovah will guide them thru men it's the same old story history repeats itself but the witnesses don't study history

Hi guys. It's time for another verse. Let's do John 3:16 here. I'm going to go ahead and word it the exact words we would follow if we relied on Watchtower. Here it is:

Now if the verse read like this everyone would follow Watchtower no questions asked. Let's see how it really goes though. A generation in the bible is primarily the age of a man when his first male child is born; but secondarily, the age of a man at his death. The bible then rounds the exact span of years in a "generation" to be 40 and 100 years as the primary usage, but on occasion, "70 years". And 70 is the average of 40 and 100, which allow the three timeframes to work in numeric harmony to produce the numeric symmetry found throughout the bible. The usage of the 100-year generation predominates in the bible (prior) to the time of Moses when men lived longer, but 40 years after Moses.
A generation of 70 years is also inferred in the book of Enoch and Jubilees, and is highly compatible with the jubilee system of the bible itself, (Daniel 9) This idea of a overlapping generation of the WT was taken from a (business model) It was first formulated in 1947, in the context of a pure-exchange economy, by Maurice Allais. It has been expanded to include other overlapping models. Because must JW’s do not use research material other than that supplied by the WT organization they would be unaware of where this model approach was taken from. In any event this overlapping model could never be applied to this generation simply because the time line of the post generation from Moses to date in what a generation length is has far exceeded a “ biblical time line generation “ It’s as you stated they would never admit there mistake on this generation garble, it would sink there 🛳 as it were. As a matter of fact the devil showed up as "an angel of light" already in the seventh century. He introduced himself as Gabriel the archangel, to Muhammed, (in the Bible "the false prophet"). The angel totaly contradicted what Gabriel in the first place had told Mary the Virgin, so he must have been the devil in disguise. At this moment the power of God´s Kingdom became established in heaven. Rev.12:10 Where did the GB get 1914 from? It´s most likely a false doctrin.

1914 works for the last generation because the last generation must begin with a world war. But the only thing that the events were leading up to was the return of Christ. Not Armageddon. After Christ returns he has to seal the elect. That wasn't included. They just wanted to know the signs that would lead up to the second coming.
Having noted that, Matthew 24:29 says "Immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days... the sign of the son of man will appear in the heavens..." So the great tribulation is over before Christ returns. Where JWs go wrong is that the "great tribulation" of Matthew is not the Armageddon tribulation of Revelation. The tribulation of Matthew is a reference to the HOLOCAUST. And the "end of the system of things" is also not Armageddon, but the "end of the gentile times," or the "appointed times of the nations," which ended on November 29, 1947.
So as many things there are that JWs get wrong, they are still the chosen "temple in its right condition after 2300 evenings and mornings." Thus they must preach the good news worldwide before the "end" comes. So in early 1947, NH Knorr literally went on a worldwide preaching tour, confirming the "good news" had reached a worldwide audience within Christendom. And then the "end" came on November 29th. So that was fulfilled in 1947. In other words, all the signs were fulfilled including the end of the system of things and the great tribulation by 1947. The only thing that had to happen was for the second coming to take place.
We now know that Xerxes and Artaxerxes I were the same king and that Xerxes faked his death to claim he was his own son. That entails removing 82 fake years from the Persian timeline, lowering the popular return in 537 BCE back down to 455 BCE. The "70 weeks" prophecy must begin with the "word goes forth to rebuild Jerusalem," which is an obvious fulfillment in the 1st of Cyrus when the Jews first returned. Thus correcting the timeline, Jerusalem does not fall in 607 BCE but in 529 BCE. How so?
A 70-year period of exile began in year 23 of Nebuchadnezzar II, the year of the last deportation (Jer. 52:30) That means year 23 of Nebuchadnezzar II occurred in 525 BCE. Jerusalem fell in year 19, 4 years earlier in 529 BCE. That points to 1992.
2520 - 607 = 1913 + 1 = 1914
2520 - 529 = 1991 + 1 = 1992
Are only concern is whether or not 1992 occurred prior to a generation of 80 years ending in 1994? The answer, of course, is yes. So just in case you wanted to know how the Bible was fulfilled, Christ's return must occur in 1992, which occurs prior to a generation ending in 1994. We don't need any overlapping generations explanation. JWs are expecting the wrong thing before the end of a generation.
The Bible is true. JWs are false teachers. Even so, JWs fulfill many prophecies during our time, most notably the "lamb-dragon beast out of the earth," and the "man of lawlessness" who rises up in God's own house. Plus the "good news" being preached worldwide before the end came in November of 1947.

Well the whole reason behind our new light is that Satan wants to replace Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the light of the world and there is a bible verse saying so. Satan hates this and wishes to replace him. Jesus Christ is the old light while Satan wishes to be the new light. We can cover the verse Satan got so jealous about. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Yes my friends Jesus Christ remains the light of the world plus anyone who follows him will share in this light. Satan will in fact try to replace Jesus very soon with the mark of the beast. He will perform a miraculous healing just like Jesus did as a final attempt to seperate people from God. Will he succeed??? So necessarily ,using the oldest humans dying now as the guide for how long a generation can be ,the time is getting short,therefor the time is getting near. Ok. So what year would it pass away? 2030? 2040? I mean, what's the cut off year? How many years would it take, before you would consider that generation as passing away? I'm curious. How bout a number? It doesn't have to be exact, just in the ball park. I was alive when Fred Franz was around so maybe I am of that generation too. If you buy into that overlappers thing.
