  • I am sure that many of you have heard that Watchtower has been compared to a cult or even a doomsday cult. But What is the basis for this? are there specific characteristics with which they identify? Well in this video, we will compare cult characteristics and elements of indoctrination to actual Watchtower policies in order to make this determination.

It is obvious "the end" is a GB "we gotta go to heaven now" (wt10/2019) with the billions, very very BRILLIANT "it is the end of the world brothers!, head for the bunkers!" total smokescreen pretext cover. By the time JWs find out it was just "the end of the JW Org world", they will be looted and many of them will be sitting in prisons, in the cemeteries, and in "unmarked graves", via the GB Pied Piper "bunkers" to doom. They will even loot JWs personal assets from all who do carpool to those death-trap "bunkers". No one seems to believe these GB Goons are actually that evil. But, they are worse than that. Just wait and see. (Matt24: 15-16)

Back in mid 80's I was being forced to stay in a marriage to a man that was drug addicted, abusive physically, mentally, emotionally, verbally, and spiritually. He passed away from his drug addiction 28+ year ago. The elders, in the library, told me I was the problem and that there was nothing wrong with him. They publicly reproved me for "reproaching my husband"... best thing they could have ever done. Something snapped in me and I left and never looked back.

Ah the old “library” routine. I’m sorry you had to endure that. It’s despicable. Sadly you weren’t the only one, many have been put through the JW machine which looks at women/sisters as second grade citizens. Then they contradict their treatment of women by using that scripture that a husband should love his wife as he loves himself. But no, that’s in word only.

Seeing how the wrong person is blamed for someone else's behaviour is sickening to me. It only goes to show how the jdubs are a big part of the problem and how they make a person feel so alone and controlled more. Man, I am so glad I am gone from there. I am sorry for what you endured. I hope you are doing well today and I send hugs your way.

You can't make the gb your golden calf. They will not lead you out of egypt, nor the wilderness or to the promised land. Following men is idolatry. I tell another part of my JW story. You know i was truly lost when i was 18-19, i started to believe in God, but i did not know what denomination was the true one, i searched and searched. Well, at one time i walked to our local church at night and prayed on the church steps and said "Please show me true way! Show me what is right". The next morning Jehova's Witnesses was on my door for the first time(:D). I took this as Divine Intervention, my prayers were answered i thought, oh boy, it was surely God who sent them to my door. I believed that because i did not believe in Trinity you see, and here comes a group that does not believe in Trinity either. God really wanted me to see how is the life in non-Trinitarian religions and then lead me away from them, i did became a Christadelphian too at one point(non-Trinitarian as well), with the Christadelphians it was perfect, they believed in everything i did too(at the time), i even got baptized...and yet it all crumbled in few weeks. When the newness of this new religion started to fade so did my faith as well. I was truly lost, and little by little God showed me that i had been wrong, REALLY REALLY wrong about Him all the time. After i realized Trinity is real it all started to fall in place...i did a few misstep along the way, but here i am now. Safe and sound in true faith. Sure i still LIKE denominations and wanted to find myself a group that i belong(i am now a Lutheran by the way, belonging to a Fifth Revival Movement that is part of our Evangelical-Lutheran Church here in Finland), but i finally understood that it is not the religion or denomination that matters, but your personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the repentance of your sins. I still don't understand why i deserved such a gift from God, that he lead me step by step to the truth. I was a horrible person...i really was, and yet God loved me and still does and takes care of me. Writing this makes me want to cry to be honest. Now i am trying to become an Evangelist, i want to spread the Gospel everywhere...ironically though i am suffering from anxiety and social phobia. Perhaps the Lord will cure this as well when i start to Evangelize to the people. I can't say what lies ahead in my future(only God knows), but i know it will be great as i am with Jesus and the Holy Spirit within me will strengthen me wherever i go. :)

Jesus founded a (one) Church in Mat 16:18, he appointed and authorized his apostles and Peter in particular, who got the power of binding and losing. The apostles appointed and authorized other men and handed down this power by laying on hands and so on. In the way you get an unbroken line of authorized successors until this very day. The JWs cannot trace their authority to Mat 16:18, they assume it.

At 9:00 I just realized yeah...my mom always paid for her magazines and always wondered as a kid how that worked out? We pay for the literature, go on field service and take the money and put it in the treasury thingy and repeat. My mom would always let me and my brother keep the 25 cents for each magazine we sold as I'm sure she wanted us to keep positive in moving the literature and of course as we got older be got a big bonus for selling books. Damn now THAT...was a big deal. I never thought about it that way but as JT and Lady Cee always say...it's a book publishing business and need our free labor which equals profits. I would always help clean the kingdom hall and my brother and I and Pop would always mow and edge the grass and detail the hall etc. and I was proud of what we did with suck pride ands zealous. I felt good. I would do anything to contribute to repair or paint or help in anyway I could to make our kingdom hall the best and I had such pride. As I got older in my teens I smelled bullshit and just didn't care anymore and decided to leave and lucky for me my parents didn't kick me out but I moved into my grandparents house for a bit then came back home and since I wasn't going to meetings I had to have a Friday bible study with my Pop since I was under his roof and it sucked but I did it until eventually my whole woke and jumped ship and left and became a tighter family and enjoyed our weekends free and not going to meetings or field service anymore lol. But yeah I get it ....we were in a cult and we left in the 90's. Love your video and channel. I would love to see you on JT and Lady Cee's channel in an interview. A+++

But don’t reply to this because the chances of me seeing your reply are very slim. Email me at JW escape777@gmail.com. Taking communion for me is a little bit overwhelming because I consider it such a privilege. Usually a church will either pass the emblems out or will have them on tables and the people can come up and take the emblems back to their seats. There’s usually soft music playing And people can pray silently or think about what Jesus actually did for us and thank him for blessings, pray for any forgiveness that we need. Then usually the pastor will get up and explain what the bread is and then everybody will take the bread at the same time. He’ll do the same for the wine. It’s really so beautiful and I do enjoy it. It’s such a special time between you and Jesus. You also can do it in your own home. Get some bread and some wine and read the Scripture out loud, pray to Jesus in your heart or out loud acknowledge what he did for you and partake. Let me know how it goes. ❤️

So well expressed . Another mark of a cult is that they have one person or one group who claims to be specially enlightened, who God speaks through. However the Bible was completed way back around the year 100. It is complete; there is no new light. Anyone can pick up a Bible and learn from it - and God will speak to their heart directly if they are sincerely seeking Him. Jesus is the Mediator between God and man. There is no middle man; each human has direct access to Jesus. This "faithful and discreet slave" was merely a character in a parable, just as was the householder, the thief, and other characters.

The elder said that they could not disfellowship me for going back into the military so I was considered disassociated but that Im really disfellowshiped! Another elder, my wifes father came by and challengeded me to a death match saying that he and the holy spirit would grind my bones to dust. Finnally, I contacted the elders and asked to meet. at the meeting Itold them all of it and said, if you really want to attack and kill me, all of you stand up and let's get it on. They were speechless so I promised that I would always protect and defend my children, and walked out. I hated religion. I became a badass. Just not toward inocents. I just never tolerate abuse. I have lived decades feeling that God and Jesus were without love and mercy.Only recenty did I get a Bible and search for God. I was a military officer but my main love was my children. I got out to spend more time with my babies and we are very close. Still, from time to time, the indoctenation causes me distress. Videos like yours compel me to keep going. At the age of 19 from Jan '76 to Aug '76 I was loosely involved with a Christian cult called "The Church of Bible Understanding". I met "Joe" who with another member knelt down with me had me say a prayer & I got "SAVED". The head of this "Church" was an older "hippie" looking man Stewart Traille about 40yo then and currently living on a large estate in Florida if he's still alive. After a few months of hanging around "Joe" says to me that maybe I had not been really "SAVED" as I had not yet " Led anyone to Jesus" AKA "Bearing fruit" (Brought someone into the group) and cited John 15:6 "If a man does not abide in me, He is cast forth as a branch and withers (The vine is pruned) and the branches are gathered, thrown into a fire and burned. Also cited was Rev 3:16 "So because you are lukewarm neither cold nor hot I will spew you out of my mouth". All words of Jesus Christ.
It was suggested that to help & strengthen my faith , that I should move into the "fellowship" their apartment . I declined and disassociated from the group. I had a reserved, quiet personality and was definitely not a salesman or preacher type of person that was going to try to convince others to join up. The fact is I'm wary of sales people in general including: Automobile,Timeshare,Telemarketers Joel Osteen, Motivational speakers, etc. Why would anyone walk the streets and talk to random disinterested strangers? I notice that they seem to be motivated By a sense of guilt and obligation (Now that you have the Good News you MUST go and tell EVERYONE you meet or you shall perish and suffer if you don't. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED).
Fast forward 30 years ( 20 of those spent as a Police Officer & retired) Now living a quiet life in a rural area. I've been getting visits about every 6 months from a very nice older JW man for the past 12 years. He's not pushy but seems to have this sense of obligation to make these short appearances at my door. We agree that the Catholic Church(I was Catholic as a child) has accumulated a lot of false nonsense over hundreds of years. What he doesn't know is that I see JW as also having a lot of questionable nonsense also and that I see the "Governing Body" as equal to the Catholic Vatican. A lot of POMPOUSNESS.

Vatican can be traced to the early apostolic church. Faith and church described in writing from 1-3 centuries are closest to traditional Catholicism. St. Peter went to Rome with keys of stewardship and authority. It's beyond me how people can criticize the CC and at the same time join groups started in XVII-XiX c in UK or USA based on ideas and personal Bible interpretations.

Teaching command upon command to their followers as stated in Matthew 23:4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
Jesus continued in Matthew 23:27,28 Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

The first time I studied with a witness they seemed to put an emphasis on explaining what the word "Christ" means "anointed".
They wanted me to see Jesus as becoming "Christ" at His baptism (which is false).
But I couldn't put my finger on why in the world the writers of the publication we were studying would want us to know that "Christ" means "anointed".
But then I was reading my Bible one day and came across this scripture:
"For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will lead many astray." (Matthew 24:5)
    This could also be read:
"For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Anointed,' and will lead many astray."

As being a born in JW I can say full confidence this religion is a cult, I'm 21 years old now and had doubt for years, I don't believe in what the watchtower teaches and consider myself an atheist. My mom Is a strict jw mom and It's rough, I still go to the meetings but I only do it because I'm currently living with her, If the religion wasn't a cult then people would be able to choose to think for themselves, you get to choose what is right and wrong, and are able to leave and not be judged or shunned for it. but since it is a cult (and a dangerous one at that) It has altered my relationship with my mom, she want's a daughter who will serve jehovah to the fullest and wants me to get baptized (Yes I'm lucky I am not baptized) she says if I don't serve jehovah then I'm the biggest disappointment to her and she will blame herself as to why I'm not spiritual. (as she says to this day) If that isn't cultish thinking I don't know what you would call it then. and she honestly believes that the cornavirus is jehovahs day and that the end is very near. (HOW BIZARRE!) so yes watchtower is a cult and one that I am ashamed to be in. I hate hate hate this cult!

The Jehovah Witnesses are such liers. My parents hated it when someone at the door, told them that they were members of a cult. WE ARE NOT A CULT!!! They said. I was just a kid and I didn't know what a cult was. When I read how you can identify a cult, I was like, holy ----! This is a cult! I knew better than to say that in front of my parents though. I could be kicked out of a church, but no one can separate me from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Now I am just waiting for the governing body to start stepping up its efforts to interfere with relationships and marriages and/or new efforts at land grabs of followers (like ordering them to bequeath everything to them). However, they are starting to fracture now that all of their lies are showing up online and people can read the inconsistencies and nonsense for themselves.

I noticed a lot of elderly JW's that have been JW's since the 1970's and their JW children (and grandchildren?) but not that many converted via all the door knocking. Had expected the congregation would have grown since the 1970's but it hadn't, strange also that their catchment area has doubled since the 1970's due to all the new houses built, this would suggest a failure of luring in fresh blood as the numbers are only maintained by JW's having children that they drag to the Kingdom Hall.

What is your motivation for being a Christian?
Would you be angry if the unbeliever next door received the same reward that you do on the day of judgement?
    Why?
Is it about comparisons, being better or more than someone else?
What is your motivation to live as a Christian? Would you prefer another life?
Is it to escape punishment? Or to receive a reward?
These are not motivations of love.
If one's motivation is not love, one will not remain eternally with Christ, who is love.
Our motivation should be to be freed from sin, to share in God's grace of love and mercy, and to do God's will.
All these things we can pursue now.
This is why we should live as Christians, and this is the reward we seek.
Surely, we should rejoice if others who do not now live as Christians, one day live as Christians and share the grace of God?
It is not about a controlling organization trying to dominate others like the Vatican or Watchtower, using both fear and greed, threats of punishment and promises of vain rewards.
It is indeed about being part of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, the body of Christ, being motivated by love.
God is love, and all who love their neighbours as themselves are of God.

    TO FRANK PONIRIS:
It's a blessing that you still believe in the Bible.
According to the Bible, God uses the bodies of modern people to bring that those who have died in the Christ during the 1st resurrection. Christ does not bring back the body, but only the "seed" of the person, that is, just their mind and memory. He implants the memory and mind of a person into a living modern holy one. Thus two individuals share the same body. 1 Corinthians 15:38 clearly says that "but God gives it a body just as it has pleased him, and to each ot the seeds its own body."
So each "seed" or mind of a resurrected one, God implants into a physical body, each seed getting its own body. That's how th3 1st resurrection works. Christ implants the minds and memories of the ones to be resurrected into imperfect bodies still alive during our day. 1 Cor. 15:42-26 is quite explicit how this works:
42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead [in the first resurrection]. The body that is sown [into] is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown [into] a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body... 46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual."
So the 1st resurrection has TWO PHASES. First physical, then spiritual. So the mind or seed of the resurrected person is placed into a fleshly body, one of corruption and dishonor and weakness. That is, a regular, imperfect body. This happens just before the second coming takes place. They remain in a physical body for the 1000-year reign of Christ. Then after Satan is destroyed, they judge all mankind during Judgment Day. Then after death is no more and there are no more wicked persons, the 1,440,000 saints go up to heaven to be angels with Christ Jesus.
This is a "new wine" teaching. But can you contradict this teaching with Scripture? No, you cannot. As 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 says, nobody goes to heaven before anybody else, but all "together" change from flesh to spirit. But this does not happen until after Judgment Day. So all the resurrected saints become alive again by being implanted into the minds of living saints with whom they share a body with. But why is that? Because Christ himself is also in a physical body in the very same way.
1 John 3:2 explains this further: "2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is."
This confirms that Jesus Christ will be in the same situation as they are. They do not know what kind of body they will have, but since Christ will also be in the body of someone else when he becomes flesh again, they will see him just as he is because he will be like them. That is, sharing someone else's body.
Bottom line: Once you realize that Christ and his 1,440,000 (Isa. 6:13) king-priests will be in fleshly bodies at the second coming and will be ruling from the earth for the 1000 years, the sooner you will understand what is really going on. It wasn't necessary for you to understand this until now.
So if you are one of the chosen saints of Christ, one of the 1,440,000, then it is possible the memory of some ancient anointed one will be implanted into your mind and you'll share the memory of a previous life. Likewise, Christ is also implanted into an imperfect man's body at the second coming. This is covered in the vision of Zechariah 3 where we see high-priest Joshua becoming a king. He appears first with befouled garments, representing his past imperfect life of sin. But he is given "new robes" that are clean and he is forgiven his sins. In the meantime, the "angel of Jehovah is standing by" means that Jesus Christ or Michael the archangel is about to inhabit the body of Joshua. So Jesus Christ is an ordinary man at the second coming. This is what the Bible is teaching us, but you never noticed this before.
Now when Jesus returns in the body of an ordinary man, he must seal the elect into the kingdom while Satan is let loose for a short while. How long is a short while? If it is 30 years, then once Armageddon begins, Jesus will have been already returned for 30 years! In this way, he comes as a "thief in the night" to the world at large. A thief will have come and stolen long before you are aware he has come to rob you.
CONFIRM WHAT I'M TELLING YOU BY SCRIPTURE! Christ is in the body of an imperfect man at the second coming.
    Thanks for sharing your video!

Shunning is one of the worst means of manipulation.
It derives spiritually from Judaism where a father would shun his wayward child, You are dead to me.
This replaces the more devastating stipulation in the Law of Moses to stone one's disobedient child to death.
But this is not God's will through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
The Lord tells the parable of the Prodigal Son who is estranged from his father, yet the father is the one waiting for him in the road. When the father sees his son, he exclaims with joy, My son who was dead is alive again.
This should be our attitude to those who are estranged.
Yes, there are times to avoid toxic people, and sometimes even family members, but not as a form of cruel punishment.
Yes, we are meant to avoid false teachers and not fellowship with falsehood, but again, all we do should be mediated by genuine love.

The fact is that the Apostles were the foundation of the one Church, but that one Church was comprised of many organizations throughout the world.
The local organizations consisted of the Bishop and the Presbyters and were based in each city, and then the Bishops of the large metropolitan cities acted as the presidents of the council of Bishops in their respective provinces.
There was no organization of Bishops beyond the province except for Rome, Alexandria and Antioch, which had wider authority in their surrounding provinces.
There was no single human run organization for the whole Church, because the One Church of Christ is run by Christ himself. It is his body.

3:50 into the video: "Yes, the destruction of the gross sinners in those cities was eternal." Watchtower 1990 Apr. 15 p. 20 - What! Didn´t Jesus say the judgement of Sodom would be more bearable than for you (the jews)." Mat.11:24 God is not partial. He is longsuffering towards us, because he doesn´t anyone to perish but repent and obtain eternal Life.

Part of jehovahs learning if you read old testament about being tricked that's why we learn when we do daily bible reading .does it hurt when I keep commenting .you reap what you sow .I will pray for you as I'm taught to love my enemy so they get healed as I'm really close to jehovah cause I was brought up by an alcoholic and this is personal as he has helped me x

Disapline is love was what I was taught and this is directed by scripture .which is in corthians and it says to be unprovoked and long suffering but kind and to reason things out .x so with the teaching from the jws.its up to man to listen or not .but what's taught is love it's just some people are dull of hearing .
