The 2 kinect 360 thing is likely not going to happen since its very hard to make the pc see both of the kinects as different ones with the official Windows drivers. At least thats what greg said about it in driver4vr and the dev of kinect2vr said, too. I saw some big companies use two or more kinects for mocap on the same pc though and greg even release a preview where he used two, too, so i dont really know, to be honest. It seems like it would just be really hard
Yeah I could definitely see it being difficult as well. To get around the SDK limitation maybe a Kinect One and a Kinect 360? It definitely seems like a complex endevour, but wouldn't also aligning the forward-direction of Vridge and Kinect?
Update on this: Driver4VR fully works alongside a Quest 2 and Air Link which is now what I use as my main VR headset. That being said, I switched to using Amethyst with my Kinect because I found the tracking to be way smoother / better. github.com/KinectToVR Amethyst is also free and open source which Driver4VR is not. This means the community can update it meaning it will have a much larger team working on it than what Driver4VR has.
Nice video, since Kinect is weirdly expensive in my country I will try to use driver4vr's webcam mode. I started to watch vr content recently but it turned out to be a bad idea for my 3rd-world-country-ass because now I want to play VR games 💀
Some amount of input lag is probably somewhat unavoidable but the first things I would double-check is whether the lag is coming from your controllers or headset (just take the headset off and move your hand controllers around -- if they lag then it's the hands, if they don't then it's the headset) If it's the headset, try moving physically closer to your router or setting up a second one near your PC (I made a big point in the video that strong wifi is important for the VRidge app to work, my setup at the time had an old 5 ghz router in the same room that I'd connect my phone to directly) If it's the Kinect tracking, there's nothing I can really do that but you can contact the devs of driver4vr at steamcommunity.com/app/1366950/discussions/. If it's your Joy-cons / other bluetooth wrist tracking, you can try moving your device around and/or using a different bluetooth adaptor. Hope this helps! If not you can reach out to me at discord.gg/9Ms4bFw
Yeah I’ve done kind of a solid mix of both so that I can keep content up while I’m in school, scroll around because I have other long-form videos like this one on the channel as well
Maybe, but I didn’t have a USB cable long enough plus I have an iPhone,, wifi was actually more reliable for me than USB, but my phone was line of sight from the access point so ymmv. Edit: 5ghz wifi is actually faster than the iPhone’s lightning port
So instead of buying a $300 stand alone hmd, You'll need a modern phone (200-1000), a kinect ($25-100), a VR Capable Gaming PC ($500-700), an hmd enclosure ($20-40), and joycons ($70)? If you don't already have these things...or even only some of these things, this setup is MUCH more expensive, and absolutely JANK! This is not a good VR setup, and it will probably ruin anyones view on what VR is. The Jank is strong but congrats on actually getting that crap to work lol Though a kinect is a pretty descent cheap way to get full body tracking in VR. I bet that cheap HMD enclosure felt like ass on your face lol
Admittedly I probably should change the thumbnail since I completely pulled that $250 number from nowhere. In my case, I already had all of the hardware: obviously beforehand I had a PC and phone, plus I also have a Switch, and a used Xbox 360 Kinect. Yeah the enclosure I used was pretty bad but I used it for the video for the brighter color (plus I was too lazy to take my phone out of its case). I have a higher quality headset enclosure that I actually use to game, and the phone VR headset space has a lot of options. Most are cheap, but some sets are really well-built and you can find them all over the place in Value Village-type stores. Also, that priced is based on Canadian dollars. A Quest 2 is $400 and my PC has 140 times the storage capacity.
@@Radded Fair enough lol I mean if you are desperate or a person who likes to tinker, and have all of the things , have fun with it. To other viewers who are truly interested in VR, please don't make this your first impressions of VR. If you can't afford VR at home, go to an arcade and try VR there first (it will blow your mind the first time), then come home and make this little diy kitbash. I just don't want anyones first time in VR to be ruined by jank :)
It depends. On my country buying all that stuff minus the Phone and using the psmoves instead (they have better tracking) is about 40ish dollars, while getting an oculus quest is about 800 dollars. So yeah, it is cheaper. By a Long shot.
@Schwipsy Yeah I'm a little hesitant on PSMove since A) I don't have any and B) I would feel kind of weird sticking a controller to my head C) No joysticks iirc, unless you use two navigation controllers in which case you'd need a Kinect anyway But when I first got my Xbox 360 it was like $125 CAD and came with the Kinect and a whole bunch of other stuff. The thing people aren't considering here is that the used market is saturated with older Xbox/Playstation hardware and the Quest is still pretty new / most people don't have a reason to upgrade and sell their older sets.

Shout out to my boy GReG HeFleY
With SlimeVR, for example, you only need the JoyCons and can leave out the Kinect completely
Wouldnt recommend tho cuz the joycons drift A LOT. Trust me, i tried it
YOU PLAYED REC ROOM LETS GOOOOO
I’m your 200th sub good job!
Woohoo thx! 🎉
your channel is really underrated. Your deserve more subs
I recommend iriun vr because it is free but now it works only on android 😢
Man did a goofy laugh 😂😂 “GuhAHaHa” XDD
And here comes the oculus sponsorship
And if it doesn’t happen I’ll start another company called oculus and I’ll sponsor you
One year later and now I actually have an oculus lmao
iVRy works better than VRidge/RiftCat because it simply doesn't drift. Like at all.
it will work with webcam or not? I have 2 kinects for xbox 360 but i don't have adapter and now i can't buy one
For me using I get a lot of input lag how do I fix it

This video is insanely good, but when I checked your channel to watch more of your content I just found some meme videos or whatever. No offence

the fact that i actually play with this XD
Really?
Attack on Titan is my favorite anime
you could of just used the USB

My download speeds are 15 MBPS but that my problem
