Stevie wrote "Touched By An Angel" in July and August 1996. She was partially inspired to write this song by those who have died of complications from AIDS. Stevie's mother, Barbara, said that this was her favorite of all of Stevie's songs.
"Touched By An Angel" was recorded for TROUBLE IN SHANGRI-LA and was even on an early 16-track CD of TISL in September 2000. However, it did not make the final cut for TISL. Luckily, it was released in February 2001 on the 'Sweet November' soundtrack.
Stevie herself released this demo of "Touched By An Angel" on Soundcloud in June of 2016 as part of her grief over the tragedy of the shooting at the Pulse nightclub on June 12, 2016.

Sometimes~ In a difficult situation, a song from the past will call out to me. Concerning what happened in Orlando~ I hope these words might be comforting to those involved. I dedicate “Touched by an Angel” to all those lost~ and all those left behind. I have included the original demo because it is my favorite version. This was my mother’s favorite song~
