@@N1ghthavvk Unfortunately, I feel like a lot of people are picking up the wrong thing from that Amazon exposé. There's this sentiment that it's literally a bunch of minority workers manually answering and redirecting responses like a mechanical turk. Rather than just helping to train the model by annotations and such.

The first one happend to my parents.
A call from an unknown number and an odd sounding "me" on the other end, telling my parents that "I" had a car accident.
My parents are 66 and 72 respectivly and don't want to engage with most modern technologies.
Thankfully they didn't give any personal info away, as they found "my" reaction odd.
They tried to call me, but couldn't reach me as i was on a business trip. When i called back they were almost panicing.
For a few weeks after that, they keept receiving several calls from different types of scams, about 1 or 2 a day.
My mother would just hang up, but my father would say stuff like "well thats your problem" before hanging up.
By now the calls have stopped, and we agreed upon a codeword in case i needed something and didn't call with my own phone.
interesting story...how do we know this comment isn't also AI?
I'm curious how they even got voice samples to train with, because it looks like you're not a youtuber
@@Daniel_WR_Hart I'm currious about that as well, as i was under the impression that they needed at least 10 minutes of me and would need to know that i belong to that voice (i upload speedruns on a separet chanel, but don't think i said more than 4-5 words there and neither my mailaddress nor any other info i've given should link back to my parents).
First thing i did after my parents told me about it and i got home, was to reset my smartphone and my pc, since it was the only sources of my voice i could think of.

A friend of mine is really into AI chatbots and see it as the future. For me I don't understand how he can trust a corporation with his personal information and emotions like that. I can't even trust a game company to keep a live service up.
What information dude, what is so important about you information that you need to protect at all cost?
@@rodrigoamora Oh I don't know, how about I don't like my info getting passed to 300 different services I never signed up for? How about the fact that I now have to worry about your company or any of your "business partners" having a security breach? How about the fact that it's disturbingly simple to deanonymize data, especially when given random factoids (20 questions is a game for a reason). I personally do not like random people or corporations being able to stalk me, cyber or otherwise. I especially don't like the fact that every business seems to ignore the classic phrase "correlation does not equal causation" and instead actively tries to infer as much as possible from as little information as possible, regardless of accuracy, while treating these inaccurate insights as fact.
You can't act like this isn't a problem just because you're fine with random people knowing the exact type of hentai you're into.

I'm a customer service representative but my job security has never been as high as today. Automating what I do will never be cheaper and more reliable than just paying me to do it. I cover for so many errors in logistic and general tech issues that the company would have to spend 10x my salary to replace me. I have a paved path to go into corporate in the next 10 years and even though I don't make nearly as much as people in tech and marketing I have a better pension and benefits. There is no degree or special training required to become a manage in my department. Maybe in the US where costumer service is completely unregulated, it will be fine to replace people with AI but I still doubt it.
My favorite is the Telegram scam because what kinda guru uses Telegram for formations.

That is a thing I did last year because I wanted ways to stay anonymous and still prove that different accounts belong to me.
It's something which in my opinion is becoming necessary in some ways, since it seems like pretty good deepfake protection.. if people actually adopted verifying identities
Thor from Pirate software told his bank that they're not allowed to conduct business on the phone with him anymore because he's a public figure and anyone can use his voice. Unless he shows up in person he's not allowing them to do anything.

I cannot fathom the idea of having a conversation with an AI chatbot... And I have definitely used AI for rp purposes before, but acting as if it's actually a human seems just so wild to me! I can't shake the feeling that anyone caught in such a trap is just a failure
... Please recall that not everyone in the world has the same social upbringing or understanding, same verbality, or a lack of intellectual/other disability. As always, the people who are most vulnerable to scams (or other social 'tricks' like chatbots that market themselves as companions) are exactly the people you're calling "failures" - the uneducated, disabled, non-fluent, elderly, etc. And it's not always obvious from an outsider's perspective, so please don't assume it's not the case whenever you hear that someone's been tricked in X supposedly obvious way or whatever.

I spend all my time recently with chat bots. I used to read sci-fi/fantasy in my free time, now it's just AI chat bots. Choose your own adventure ftw. But I have a elementary school kid and your video made me realize I'm probably on the minority of the usage case for those bots, and I'll have to be careful how he is introduced and monitor him. Props.
