Sad that the healer doesn't get a mention. In tough fights and when early game has little money, you'd definitely need an AOE heal
and the synthesis skill Mahama does wonders against light-weak enemies like the skeletons and undeads
Late game shops would make healing spells redundant, but until then at least learn the group heal spell and light damage

Healer lineage also permanently juices your magic for each mastered archetype. There's no reason not to get it for characters who lean towards magic stat growth.

As you go into the midgame, commander’s just fantastic as well. Not only does it have good stat boosts but for the low price of 2 turn icons it has a synthesis that gives heat riser (all 3 stat boosts excluding crit) to the whole team. It’s busted.

Doesn't matter if monsters resist slash. Using gunner's synthesis attack, you can turn that resist into a weakness. My strongest combo by far is gunner synthesis into warrior Strohl's bamboo splitter/peerless stone cleaver. Strohl has pretty high crit which means this will hit damn hard. I've yet to see if the weakness implant also works on a mob that normally reflects physical. I assume it won't but would be interested in testing it out.
