    Swinging The Childhood Into Future
What is a swing game in the eyes of children these days?
For us, a swing is a bridge between human and nature. The swing game reminds us of our childhood moments spent at the great outdoors, where we felt closest to the nature. However, our perception of a swing game changed during the pandemic and the digitalization age. Children learned about the swing in an artificial setting, or they had to watch a swing game through the screens.
Our Design Concept, “Hello Future”, is to create a vibrant tree-like swing game that encourage the children to interact with the nature through their 3 senses: touch (movement), hearing(sound) & sight(visual). This eco-friendly yet dynamic swing is the new source of joy for the children of future in Nansha Bird Park.
In detail, the swing game could be approached from 4 aspects:
    1. The Setting: The proposal is situated on the cove across Nansha Exhibition Centre. It is a sculpture that blends into the nature, and it aims to attract the crowd.
    2. The Form: The structure refer to the analogy of the tree and the swing : The primary structure resembles the tree trunk, secondary as the branches, & tertiary as the crown.
    3. The Kinetic: The movable fins are inspired by the dancing leaves, to encourage visual, movement, and sound interaction. It sings and dances when the swing moves.
    4. The Swing: A pendulum swing is chosen due to the swing’s origin, and its ability to carry more children. Sitting areas are designed for users to enjoy the scenic nature.
To conclude, “Hello Future” is a call for everyone to progress after the pandemic. A call to co-exist and have fun with the nature, and it starts with our young ones at Nansha Bird Park.
