"In a world where shared joy and togetherness are celebrated, the ‘Spirit of Joy’ emerges as a testament to the power of unity and happiness. Inspired by the Chinese saying ‘同乐(Tónglè)’, which translates to sharing happiness together, the bamboo swing is introduced to share an essence of togetherness among the children in Nansha Bird Park.
A swing by its origin is a solitary recreation, designed for individual pleasure, where one pushes and the other feels the enjoyment of swaying against the winds or doing the pushing themselves. The ‘Spirit of Joy’, however, seeks to find a shared enjoyment among all the children. The core essence begins with a spherical bamboo swing that resonates the spirit of togetherness by encouraging children to not play alone, but together to create everlasting bonds and memories.
The swing further explores multi-sensorial elements, that entices the mind of a child, allowing children to engage with their surroundings bamboo swing is composed of 4 stages of construction, that begins with the main crossed-circular structures, two traversed platforms extending from the land to river, experimental bamboo features to enhance safety and enjoyment and finally the core bamboo swing connecting all the elements together.
Together, these elements form a swing that embrace the ‘同乐 (Tónglè)’ spirit. It's a place where strangers become friends, families bond, and children come together, one swing at a time in the Nansha Bird Park."
They will receive RM2,500, a Throphy and a certificate. The certificates and prize money will be presented during the Award Ceremony after the International Level competition in Guangzhou China. We will post an update here soon.
