AirFlow well maybe, but still I dont have a good pc yet and the games lag and I cant play cities skylines so I watch cities skylines youtube videos and why dont they have those mods?
Well cities skylines made 2015 simcity 2013 that is a 2 year difference in technology.also simcity 2013 sucks so cities skylines is pretty much simcity 4 with better graphics.
You don't talk about public transport! SimCity: Sh*t! No routes for vehicles and they going to nearest stop. C:S: Improved system, line making, metro and much more!
Stay entitled to your opinion but in my opinion Simcity 5 is better just for fact that the only thing I do Simcity and cities skylines is use disasters that's the only reason I bought both games then I realised you buy disasters as dlc which is a waste of £12 especially since Simcity comes with disasters for free. Note I'm not hating cities skylines I mean I have played it but still they could have made disasters free and making me an extra £12 which is an inconvenience. And congrats if you made this far without being bored by my opinion. Feel free to criticise my opinion if you wish.
Cities Skylines DOES have tunnels. Edit: This video came out before that feature was added, so this comment is basically irrelevant. It just punctuates Cities Skylines superiority.
Interesting to watch 5 years later and see how much C:S has not only closed all the gaps, but grown far beyond. I love city building games, and I'm very glad to have graduated to C:S.
Things that have changed with Cities Skylines since this video.... Skylines now has road tunnels. After that they added a European pack, consisting of European styled commercial, residential, and services type buildings, all for free. It also has Day and Night cycles which was a free part of their new expansion titled After Dark, which when purchased added prison complex, more leisure options, and buildings. Now with the Snowfall expansion we are getting fucking snow for free, and a tram service and some other new stuff when we pay.
+LilTRoberts1000 Yup. After Dark really focused on the tourism. You can have nightclubs, taxis, and pretty much, try and recreate a real city in a lesser way for more tourism, compared to Simcity. Who the hell said that the Washington Monument is next to the Eiffel Tower?
+Crazy Gaming ugghh yet again someone who calls himself a gamer but only looks at the graphics.. This comparison is not about graphics and if so i would even say that simcity looks a tiny bit better.. BUT its about the gameplay and by that cities skylines beats simcity by the thousands
Hmm, the similarities. Justin Bieber and simcity walk hand-in-hand. Justin Bieber was also someone who had talent, a big following, but then was found by a great company that made him bigger, so bi that it became a sell-out, and to the community's suprise flip the script to become an asshole. EA-games you will look back at this and laugh as you enter comedy centrals roast in a few years. Be very afraid.
So, it seems that as much as I have a nostalgic love for SimCity (from the olden days) EA has, well, been EA and not kept up to speed with their competition. The lack of graphics and music in CS is a compromise I'm willing to take in favor of a better developed/matured game play. The Agent system & mod community was a big factor/win for CS for me. So, this is now where I buy the game and never see light for 6 months. Hope my Boss understands. Thanks AsilksWorld!
+I Blame Labour Change over I guess, I build on Minecraft, this I enjoy much more and find more rewarding and impressive, those type games feel meaningless to me, just not my kind of thing, although, that crazy roller coaster game looked fun, of the same ilk.
crazy how obsolete this video became, not because its a bad video but because pretty much all of the crituqes of skylines in this video have either been completely fixed or changed because of either DLC or mods. Skylines is hands down the way to go
PSA: A lot of the missing features (tunnels, night time, etc) have been added to the game. The additions are pretty shallow though unless you purchase the DLC (just grab it all when its on sale during a steam sale).
I payed 79,95€ for pre-order deluxe and 29,95€ cities of tomorrow. Simcity is now old and it still costs same or more than cities skylines. Cities of tomorrow cost same as Cities skylines. :D
The only thing that makes me sad about cities skylines is the fact that it doesn’t have multiplayer like simcity have. A game with city specialization AND multiplayer + all the game options and possibilities and a HUGE map like Skylines have would have my money not even thinking twice.
@@fantheorycentral1771 I’m pretty sure what “killed” SimCity was EA terribly high pricing, the game has a lot of problems with crashing. You spend hours and hours of design and then suddenly, game stops working. You cannot save or anything. You can only turn off your pc manually. That is what killed SimCity. And that’s why I bought Cities Skylines on a console instead of pc. Viola! I never experienced a single crash since.
Skylines content + simcity 2013 tools, electricity and water system + simcity 4 population and regional system would be the ultimate city building game without question
Cities: Skylines is better because they have added tunnels, added a disaster DLC pack, and the steam workshop provides so many mods you will never get bored for a WHILE. I really recommend Cities: Skylines as I own both games and the pros in Cities far outweighs the cons.
Simcity is like the abusive alcoholic father who never stuck around very long, and cities skylines is that hardworking single mom, and tropico is the step dad who is not perfect, but he is a pretty Ok guy.
I'm surprised there is even a comparison against skyline on which to buy. I played both, it's skylines hands down.Even before they had tunnels, day night cycles, and a shitload of transportation options. My simcity cities were tiny! They should really call it simtown or simvillage.
***** is not nostalgia, i like the sims 4 and simcity 5 too, but they are not superior to previous games, make a comparative with this two games and the old ones
+MegaMapper plays a game which has the main point of being a simulation of a complex (eco-socio-)system, complains about the only thing that almost needlessly draws the most processing power from the main point of the game :-D :-D
Luis Miclat sim city only looks like a child's game when the graphics are low if u put every thing on high and ultra the graphics looks amazing and realistic but the only down fall is your game will run extremely choppy and slow
Rory Gordon what do you expect? Simcity 2013 made by EA compared to the Simcity 4 where Maxis made it,EA only focus on the money, not the heart of the game.Fucking EA destroyed many good games...
+Rory Gordon Incredibly true now Maxis main studio emmerville has been shut down even though EA's Stupid DRM is what killed maxis' games and lost them sales EA logic- if our DRM policy dosent work with the company's game then...shut them down
Finally, an honest comparison this is helpful! I liked seeing it from both sides. Update: On October 28 I got Simcity, I'll have to see. Update: I love the game inspite traffic. I can't wait to afford Cities: Skylines, and ty it. Also... Corrections: 2:-- Use built-in shortcuts to adjust this: [Ctrl] + [Alt] + W adds $5K to your hourly wages If you do this, but don't press Ctrl, it adjusts how much money you have to spend by $100K. Both methods require sandbox mode, which is like regular mode, except you have the keyboard shortcuts and they give a million Simoleons. Funny moments:. 2:54 "I'm looking at you, China" LOL 4:37 I"I bury my body's in my backyard **clears throat** " LOLTaatic!
I enjoyed both games but for different reasons. I would say if you have a vision of a very specific city in mind and you enjoy tons of creative control than Cities Skylines is definitely for you. However I thoroughly enjoy the competitive aspect of Sim City, I like that the game presents me with constraints and challenges that maintain my interest over time where I find the late game in Cities Skylines mainly becomes a bit boring once you reach a certain population. I'm not saying they are equal, I would definitively say Cities is a more well rounded and well produced game, but I don't hate Sim City like a lot of other people do, I just enjoy it for different reasons. I wish they would combine some of the aspects of Sim City into Cities Skylines.
Richard Powell yeah the End game can be a bit annoying, at around 100k people you just do the same things over and over again. Thats why i stopped 3 times there :P
Updates for Citites: Skylines for everyone wondering, 1:13 They have updated it and tunnels are now available. 5:50 There is a new mod for 81 tiles instead of 25. 7:12 - 7:18 There is a little bit of tourism by placing landmarks and monuments, so that isn't correct. 8:17 They have updated it and night time is now available. If you don't know what to choose, I chose Cities: Skylines and I am having a lot of fun with it, I never actually played Simcity so I can't say if it's godd, but if I look at these videos, I would go for Cities: Skylines.
Trust me. I have spent about 5 hours with SimCity 2013. Definitely stick to Cities: Skylines (I have about 80 hours). Just make sure you mod it. I can send you a list of mods I use that work really well.
First, I would like to applaud your presenting skills. I enjoyed how you presented the information in this video without having a biased view. It was clear, and to the point. Second, I think I am now going to buy Cities Skylines. I love building games, and I like the highways, and bridges in Cities Skylines.
When comparing graphics one really should make sure that the graphics settings are maxed out for comparison. I don't even own either game but Cities Skylines looks better to me. If you haven't already you should go back and compare the games again because so much is added to skylines for free (like the day/night cycle) that some of your points in the music and graphics section aren't valid concerns anymore
Real deal Umm, your logic in writning tgis responce is flawed. I mean, it doesn't even respond to the comment. Besides, of course the good graphics existed. And seeing the video, my internal rage mode was just screaming MAX OUT THE SETTINGS! CS had great graphics back then, too. Granted, they were NOT made for anything lower than high-end PCs, but they were MUCH better.
The only thing I dislike about Cities:Skylines is the way buildings work. In SimCity you plop down a school, and then gradually customize it and expand it as the need for education grows. Same goes for each ploppable building. You also have production chains there - an Ore Mine produces ore, you need a depot to store it, you need a smelter to turn it into steel or alloy, you need a factory to make that into televisions, etc. Cities Skylines on the other hand...well...you plop down a school and...that's it. It just sits there, making the houses more educated in the background. Where's the crowd of students coming and going to it? Where are the extra expansion rooms? Why aren't there any production chains whatsoever? Sure, I can set a district as a mining district, and it just...sort of...becomes one, and that's it. Mining-related buildings show up all by themselves and they just sit there, doing "mining". But it is completely inconsequential - it's basically a reskin of the normal industrial zone. Also it doesn't matter of there are any ore deposits nearby - if there aren't then the raw materials needed by the buildings are brought via trucks. The "cities" in SimCity feel like actual living cities...or more like tiny villages at least. There's stuff to do in them. The cities in Cities:Skylines are static.
Regarding the school part, there is now Campus DLC. If you want similar thing to parks and industry, there are DLCs for those too (Parklife and Industries, respectively).
The only thing I miss from Simcity now that I've switched to C:S is the ploppable building expansion thing that Simcity has (shown with the firehouse and city hall in this video). It really added more of a customizable feel to your important buildings as well as making things more unique (plus the ability to have more models). Of course, for C:S, you could always just download more building models from the Steam Workshop, so it's nearly moot.
Heyy, So I can't really decide which Game to choose... I really like the upgrades of each of the houses/utilities and i also like the extension pack Cities of tomorrow and the graphics from SimCity2013. On the other Hand I reall y like the more "open world" type , of City: Skyline Which Game would you suggest is right for me? Thanks
+Juli Vogt The creator of Simcity were completely shut down by EA, so there will be no Simcity 6 not will there be any updates for 5. I would get skylines.
Juli Vogt Simcity was deeply flawed and racked with problems. Poor support from the developers and now there is none. Very limited gameplay, and rather than expanding upon city building like the previous title, it shrank everything and "simplified" it for reason which simcity fans still can't fathom. Still, I do miss it. It had a charm which Skylines seems to lack. However, Skylines is a vastly more in depth game and works excellently; a far superior title. However I find myself sorely miss the building expansions that Simcity had, the atmosphere and the music.
The only thing I noticed that SimCity has compared to Cities: Skylines is modular buildings, I would actually love to see that in skylines vanilla with a dlc at some point
One game is lead by a company that doesn’t give a shit about its player and the other actually listens and incorporates its community’s ideas and mods.
As an owner of both games, I can safely assume that Simcity 2013 = For people that want fun games, and want to play together Cities Skylines = For the more advanced people/modders
I personally like Simcity 5 more than cities skylines because, the specializations and the great works are fun to mess around with while cities skylines is always generally the same thing over and over again. If you’re looking for variation and to play with friends get simcity 5, but if you’re looking for a better base game and more mechanics and so on but little variation go for cities skylines. Overall I think both games have their ups and downs and i wish Simcity 5 had a expanding option but I personally prefer Simcity 5. Ps. This is an opinion
I really wish there's a game where the modding capability and the gameplay elements of the Cities Skylines combined with the Sim City 2013's future expansion pack and lively atmospheres(When you clicked any objects in Sim City 2013 like stadium or car, there will be interactive sound effects for it,when you clicked a human being they will say hello to you).
Sim City loses frankly because Cities: Skylines has mods and a huge modding community. So no amount of expansions can bring Sim City ahead, the only perk it has is multiplayer but with mods? Who knows that can already be a thing. I've seen lengthy LPs of Sim City and it doesnt' have the same depth or staying power. Even Lazy Game Reviews, a guy who owns every copy variant of every Sim City says the newest one is just disappointing, Skylines comes out later at half the cost and no online DRM and crushes Sim City. I wish Sim City was better, the multiplayer would have been a great option but they dropped the ball and just about any Sim City before it is superior never the less Cities.
+Snotnarok I expect they will make a mod or patch in CS later, though idk how it will work. ive thought about it and it would be hard to play multipayer.
+Dylan R Even if it has delays, it'd be similar to Sim City 5. The Multiplayer in that title wasn't instant so, I'm sure whatever mod happens along will be workable enough.
So does CS. If you've ever seen the youtubers who build cities using graphics mods, many of the shots from those youtubers can almost look like real life. (ex: two dollars twenty, he makes amazing CS cities)
I'm so glad Colossal har focused on making the game better with expansions, nighttime, tunnels, tourisme etc. And of course the modding community. But you forgot the (in my eyes) most important part of the game. Transport. I played SimCity also, it was fun, at times, but sadly there were too long between each fun moment.
How ironic, everything he said bad about skylines, has been implemented by the 2018, it can't be compared anymore, even the MUSIC is better in skylines now Colossal Order dev be like : 'hold my beer young man, this is gonna be a massacre'
Now we just need cities skylines vs. SimCity 4. I personally think Simcity 4 would win. Simcity 4 has 1,000's more mods, larger maps, better music, more buildings, better graphics, more services, a day and night cycle, better terraforming. Cities skylines may be 3D and it may be 12 years newer but it still doesn't beat SC4.
CaptainCrape Well, thats because Cities: Skylines was made in the Unity engine, I don't know, maybe Cities: Skylines 2 would be made in a custom and/or engine.
During unlockables, you forgot to mention that in Sim City, the University and The Academy (with expansion) can research projects such as a space station or more power plants.
+Grijze Pilion (Pi) Maybe in your opinion. But I agree that SC4 is better, but Cities:Skylines is the best today's city-building game. SC4 is still good, but it's (quite) old.
SimCity 4 SimCity 2000 all good games also compared to 1993 compared to 1999 if you're coming from those games skylines will be fantastic because they are similar you get the level editor an asset editor Electronic Arts Maxis I'm sure will write is playing city skylines
This video is a bit old , so I'll point out the biggest differences today - tunnels, huge workshop community, and leisure and tourism commercial specializations. We also now have way better graphics given the steam workshop, and night time is also a thing.
Personally I like Simcity much better. The specialization system, wonder building, and cities of tomorrow systems are fun minigames. Also despite the small plot sizes, I never seem to run out of things to do. If I do manage to get bored with a city I just set off some disasters or break open the prisons. This usually take hours to recover from. Also even after playing for hours there is the very real possibility of bankrupting in simcity. In skylines I somehow always manage to amass a ton of money and have no problems for the rest of the game. Also I personally like the multiplayer. The only real gripe I have with it is that you have to buy all the DLC or you won't be able to access abandoned cities even if the person did not drop any dlc content. I have had a lot of fun remodeling cities that were built by other people and dealing with my neighbors crime problems and what not. The whole game is not without its flaws but overall it has more long term appeal than skylines. Skylines is the game we all wanted simcity to be which is essentially an upgrade from simcity 4. The game is great but does not do anything too different than the old school simcities. Because of this less experimental approach, the devs were able to focus on the core systems. The simulation runs much better and managing traffic is the key minigame. However I take issue with the fact that services seem a little overpowered and that budgeting never seems to be an issue(EX: it is very easy to overeducate your sims leaving no workers for your oil/lumber industry, One police station tends to knock crime to nothing). I know mods can fix this but I haven't found one that is balanced right. Bottom line I would really like to see a hybrid of these two games with the best features of each present.
I appreciate how unbiased you were and only shared your opinion sometimes, and did not act like your opinion was right. I will never play Sim City now that I have found Cities Skylines but I can respect your points about both.
Now city skylines has tunnels

if your income is tight and you lack something like police or fire controll then you can either increase budget or build a new station.
this provides a few possible scenarios.
if you only lack a few police cars etc. then putting up the budget would be the best solution. however every building you build later will have the increased cost. this means that for every few buildings needed you would have to juggle your funding down to normal levels and build adequate buildings to prevent a lack fo service.
you can also simply build a new police station. then however you will have a lot of service potential wasted and funds wasted.

All the downsides to city skylines have been added in the present day
Cities skylines probably one of my most favorite games ever
1:28 Masterpiece right there.
@Terique Bernard it is not, i have one
city skylines makes simcity look like shit.
+TheChildhoodRuiner15 : I like your name...
Dr Theisen thanks
Simcity 5 makes Simecity 5 look like shit. Basically because it is really fucked up shit. No need for Skylines for that!
+ZildSteve I thought it came out 2014
I play both.
Cities Skylines DOES have tunnels.
Edit: This video came out before that feature was added, so this comment is basically irrelevant. It just punctuates Cities Skylines superiority.
+KidView Not when he released the video
+KidView that was a later patch/update
+KidView All the bad things said about skylines have now been fixed/upgraded, can simcity say the same?
+Johnny West Or otherwise said.
The people that made Skylines want to improve it.
The people that made simcity, not so much.
+Londronable Has EA forgotten about SimCity? It hasn't had anything done to it in ages.
+LilTRoberts1000 Also tourism is a thing for a long as I can remember. "Visitors" is what represents it.
Wow I remember when sim city was the best.
Cities Skylines is so superior to SimCity it is like comparing the Beatles and Justin Bieber.
+MrAflac9916 SimCity is made in 2013 and in 2015 Citiesc skylens it is probably clear that it will be better graphics in Cities skylens
+Crazy Gaming nothing to do with graphics
Be very afraid.
no, its like comparing Roller coaster tycoon world to planet coaster
So, it seems that as much as I have a nostalgic love for SimCity (from the olden days) EA has, well, been EA and not kept up to speed with their competition. The lack of graphics and music in CS is a compromise I'm willing to take in favor of a better developed/matured game play. The Agent system & mod community was a big factor/win for CS for me. So, this is now where I buy the game and never see light for 6 months. Hope my Boss understands. Thanks AsilksWorld!
Now in 2016 i think you can say that City Skylines is more of a simulation while Sim City is more of a game to have fun with, if you get what I mean.
flops031 i agree if city size was bigger Sim City would have gotten better response.
XquisiteGDR I don't think that's what he meant.
welp i already think its good enough
What I don't get is ur profile picture
Just like all sims games
cities skylines is far superior but i wish it had the modules for individual buildings
2:29 saying how good cities skylines traffic is as a car phases through another.. Jk cities skylines is an absolute amazing game.
Omfg I bought sim city for 40 quid and no one told me that cs was thing. All that time I spent on sim city that could've been on skylines. RIP.
+I Blame Labour Change over I guess, I build on Minecraft, this I enjoy much more and find more rewarding and impressive, those type games feel meaningless to me, just not my kind of thing, although, that crazy roller coaster game looked fun, of the same ilk.
+The Anti-Theist minecraft is completely fucking different to a city builder lmao
Just Dumber Which is why it is completely different.
That happened to me too. But I eventually bought cities: skylines while it was on sale.
+I Blame Labour Same
Knowing how Paradox works : add-on will be there soon, and more things will be added. :D
Hopefully so. :)
***** They need to pump up the graphics and level of details!! other than that is a fun game to play.
AsilksWorld Heard that tunnels will be added too.
LegendMeadow Got added in update 1.1 :D
***** You called it.
crazy how obsolete this video became, not because its a bad video but because pretty much all of the crituqes of skylines in this video have either been completely fixed or changed because of either DLC or mods. Skylines is hands down the way to go
that is a comparison based on both official release state in general not with the mods.
@@gamerstellar No? he is talking about the vanilla fixes not mods.
Cities: Skylines now have tunnels actually.
Keg Indeed, it made many parts of city much better. Especially transporting goods from one district to another.
John Marcera Can you build tunnels through mountains?
Robbie Wales Yes, I think.
John MarceraTheir tunnel system is fantastic!
+Robbie Wales sure.
PSA: A lot of the missing features (tunnels, night time, etc) have been added to the game. The additions are pretty shallow though unless you purchase the DLC (just grab it all when its on sale during a steam sale).
For a 2013 game, I gotta say SimCity has some nice graphics
he began with saying this wasn't a comparison, but in the end, he clearly stated that it was
One more thing
Skyline: $30
SimCity: $60
30Simline
No wait what was I even
Tommy That's a good point.
Tommy Simcity is actually $30 now.
I payed 79,95€ for pre-order deluxe and 29,95€ cities of tomorrow. Simcity is now old and it still costs same or more than cities skylines. Cities of tomorrow cost same as Cities skylines. :D
Herbertti O_o That's so expensive... EU taxation?
Sim city is $13 now. $20 for complete edition.
The only thing that makes me sad about cities skylines is the fact that it doesn’t have multiplayer like simcity have.
A game with city specialization AND multiplayer + all the game options and possibilities and a HUGE map like Skylines have would have my money not even thinking twice.
Multiplayer was part of what killed Simcity.
And you literally recorded Skylines with texture quality on Low and level of detail on medium.
Skylines recently blew Simcity out of the water with its new expansion pack, "After Dark".
+Broncosdude 18 simcity is hitting the right thing, something that we ALL want.ONLINE PLAYING
+Alex Anderson I got bored of SC easily. Skylines is the shit
Jared Lyon It's expansion pack of things that should of been in the base game
Skylines content + simcity 2013 tools, electricity and water system + simcity 4 population and regional system would be the ultimate city building game without question
100% if only cities skylines 2 (or simcity 6) exist
and even if they will exist they probably wont have all of that
Cities: Skylines is better because they have added tunnels, added a disaster DLC pack, and the steam workshop provides so many mods you will never get bored for a WHILE. I really recommend Cities: Skylines as I own both games and the pros in Cities far outweighs the cons.
But simcity also has disasters
That’s true and in SimCity buildit you can do the disasters without paying any real money at all
But simply simcity update Pc also have!
There's tunnels in Cities Skylines
And night time
ThisCreativeName New Expansion?
and tourism districts
and nighttime

Its like a Medium Wage dad gets a son that has High wage in the future... SO PEACEFUL
the perfect city builder would be a baby between these 2 AND tropico 5
+DJ Jesus. He Died for your spins That is so true!
Simcity is like the abusive alcoholic father who never stuck around very long, and cities skylines is that hardworking single mom, and tropico is the step dad who is not perfect, but he is a pretty Ok guy.
+DJ Jesus. He Died for your spins Dude, I love your name

Damn you had an interesting childhood to say the least.
+DJ Jesus. He Died for your spins cities simtropic?
Let me, I own both, I have 364 hours and counting on city skylines, and on sim city I have 2
I played Simcity 5 for about 100 hours before CTS was released. I give Simcity a solid 0/10.
I played SimCity near of 6 hours. Meanwhile, I played Cities Skylines for 468 hours! I definitely recommend CS!
Cities skylines is addictive whereas simcity I would highly recommended to delete and then download cities skylines
If I say that I hate CTS, I think you guys will kill me :v
Renato Yuji Ishikawa de Moura we won't but we'll call you a very very idiotic dumbfuck
Not to mention the mods are what makes Skylines a winner in my book. The community is so great.
I'm surprised there is even a comparison against skyline on which to buy. I played both, it's skylines hands down.Even before they had tunnels, day night cycles, and a shitload of transportation options. My simcity cities were tiny! They should really call it simtown or simvillage.
SimCity used to be fantastic, but EA fucked up with simcity 5, and the sims 4 too. They made wrong things, thats why Maxis closed
Gonza97 well,this reason is only 5% right,where are other 95%?ask Cities skyline,they made it
***** im not saying that those games are bad, they are just good, just ok, not amazing like the old ones

Why am I watching this, I was not even planning on getting either of these
Oof
Lol neither was I. I ended up buying it a couple months back watching a creator vid about cities skylines lol

Playing skylines on low settings - tell everybody there is shitty graphic ;D
+MegaMapper plays a game which has the main point of being a simulation of a complex (eco-socio-)system, complains about the only thing that almost needlessly draws the most processing power from the main point of the game :-D :-D
Sim city
Might want to turn the graphics up then.
+MegaMapper No, that's actually how Skylines looks despite the settings.
Luis Miclat sim city only looks like a child's game when the graphics are low if u put every thing on high and ultra the graphics looks amazing and realistic but the only down fall is your game will run extremely choppy and slow
What I want with C:S is the community. It's very vibrant and positive, not to mention their CEO's and staffs, they're very friendly and responsive.
Paolo Ibayan because they care about the game not the money.
Rory Gordon what do you expect? Simcity 2013 made by EA compared to the Simcity 4 where Maxis made it,EA only focus on the money, not the heart of the game.Fucking EA destroyed many good games...
I know its awful. But EA tells the game makers to make loads of money and then gets pissed of when the game isnt good and fails.

Richard Powell
yeah the End game can be a bit annoying, at around 100k people you just do the same things over and over again.
Thats why i stopped 3 times there :P
Updates for Citites: Skylines for everyone wondering,
1:13 They have updated it and tunnels are now available.
+ROG2000 lol 80 hrs noob
Nowadays City Skylines have even better tourism
Few years later: Skyline has night, tunnels, tourism mods, graphic mods... pretty much all the complaints can be fixed with mods and new DLCs
All of them are now in the vanilla version of the game
cities skyline have tunnels now

Alex Ray yeah
Alex Ray and u dont know this video was created long ago before the good graphic exist
Bob likes skylines more in nearly every factor except for the utilities in which he finds the modular system to be very cool.
I agree with you
1:28 I understood that you are a creative artist
a mature artist indeed
95% Cities Skyline better than SimCity 2013
4% 50/50
1% SimCity 2013 better that Cities Skyline
SimMadness As a SimCity player for almost 3-4 years, i have played CS for 2 weeks and it already made me feel addicted :D

What about map size?? one of my biggest problems with simcity was the size of the maps being ridiculously small.
"I bury them in my backyard". Ha! You're funny, son.
I love how almost all of the problems you mention with Skylines are now fix or added.
"The cemetery under the health section. Which to me is pretty is useless. I bury my bodies in the back yard" - Nice
That ending bit. Just wow.
Heyy,
So I can't really decide which Game to choose... I really like the upgrades of each of the houses/utilities and i also like the extension pack Cities of tomorrow and the graphics from SimCity2013. On the other Hand I reall y like the more "open world" type , of City: Skyline
Which Game would you suggest is right for me?
Thanks
Or should I wait for the next SimCity? :O
+Juli Vogt The creator of Simcity were completely shut down by EA, so there will be no Simcity 6 not will there be any updates for 5. I would get skylines.
Oh really? :O Damn .. Cities of tomorrow was looking pretty sweet ..
Does Cities: Skylines have Spacestation, universities and other things like SimCity4 Deluxe Rdition does?
Juli Vogt Simcity was deeply flawed and racked with problems. Poor support from the developers and now there is none. Very limited gameplay, and rather than expanding upon city building like the previous title, it shrank everything and "simplified" it for reason which simcity fans still can't fathom. Still, I do miss it. It had a charm which Skylines seems to lack. However, Skylines is a vastly more in depth game and works excellently; a far superior title. However I find myself sorely miss the building expansions that Simcity had, the atmosphere and the music.
It would be interesting if you made an updated version of this vid to see what changes happened to both games over the years.
The only thing I noticed that SimCity has compared to Cities: Skylines is modular buildings, I would actually love to see that in skylines vanilla with a dlc at some point
Skylines is way better than SimCity. EA has utterly destroyed everything that made Simcity good.
you can get 80 tiles with mods
Nope, only 25.
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=576327847&searchtext=81+tiles it's actually 81 tiles
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=576327847&searchtext=81+tiles it's actually 81 tiles

Can you tell me how many tiles again please?
One game is lead by a company that doesn’t give a shit about its player and the other actually listens and incorporates its community’s ideas and mods.
tunnels where added in future updates + trams
SKYLINES AFTER DARK JUST FIXED VERYTHING!
As an owner of both games, I can safely assume that
Simcity 2013 = For people that want fun games, and want to play together
Cities Skylines = For the more advanced people/modders
Cities skylines: looks ugly, plays better
Sim city: looks amazing, plays worse
looks ugly?? rly? look at series like gramercy (ok thats ugly but its a realistic ugly) or new windsor or seenu or nydal.
What's the mean of that?
I like skyline graphics more tbh sim city looks to cartoony and the lighting is ugly
Buttbrick 2.0 I agree plus you don't have to pay £12 for natural disaster dlc in Simcity unlike Cities skylines
@@jakefox589 but then C:S has better natural disasters and more thought out content in addition to the disasters. so 12€ is a bargain.
1:28 that’s just such a great way to show how to build roads you know.
3:59 anyone notice that he put contolled instead of controlled?
C:S looks amazing with textures and luts I bet there aren’t any of those for simcity
Simcity have mods
*****
There may be mod, or maybe it'll be included in a sequel. But fair enough.
Snotnarok the always online DRM of simcity was the only reason why it had multiplayer
Simcity has fun looking graphics
You Mean City Skylines.

How ironic, everything he said bad about skylines, has been implemented by the 2018, it can't be compared anymore, even the MUSIC is better in skylines now
Colossal Order dev be like : 'hold my beer young man, this is gonna be a massacre'
Hahaha XD
hahaha XD
well the video uploaded when c:s just comes so what'd you expect?
Now we just need cities skylines vs. SimCity 4. I personally think Simcity 4 would win. Simcity 4 has 1,000's more mods, larger maps, better music, more buildings, better graphics, more services, a day and night cycle, better terraforming. Cities skylines may be 3D and it may be 12 years newer but it still doesn't beat SC4.
CaptainCrape Well, thats because Cities: Skylines was made in the Unity engine, I don't know, maybe Cities: Skylines 2 would be made in a custom and/or engine.
SimCity 4 has also been out for much longer
CaptainCrape It's official, the maps of Cities: Skylines are actually bigger then in SimCity 4.
***** Go check again. You're wrong.
Jaime Valladares
"So with the 25 tile mod in Cities skylines you can make cities slightly larger than the biggest city maps in SC4."
-Reddit
During unlockables, you forgot to mention that in Sim City, the University and The Academy (with expansion) can research projects such as a space station or more power plants.
C:S has better modding community in general. Thanks to mods, this game, in my opinion, is the best city builder ever made to this day.
How about Sim City 4 vs Cities Skylines? :D
+B3K97 Cities skylines wins
Simcity 4 + Simcity 5 = Cities Skylines!!
Simcity 4 - Simcity 5 = Cities skylines
1:29 - I thought that porn is banned on RUclips.
1:26 wow wonderful art
I appreciate how unbiased you were and only shared your opinion sometimes, and did not act like your opinion was right. I will never play Sim City now that I have found Cities Skylines but I can respect your points about both.
