    Some very smart ideas implemented here! Won't be giving up the full time 80" and 72" beds in my Travato K for that puzzle bed. I can see the appeal for those who want a lot in a smaller chassis though. Well done Winnebago. This should be a big seller!

    I love how this van is equipped! My brother and his wife and I have talked about either having one of these or renting one to see if we like it. I love traveling but am not savvy at all the complexity of a regular RV plus I don’t think I really need the large rvs. It’s just me. I do artwork on locations and this would be helpful in spending time at one place doing art of the area. I’m going to look into this van and see if it’s an affordable option for me. Thank you for featuring this.

    • @MovingForwardAdventures
      @MovingForwardAdventures  Год назад +3

      This would be a great van for a solo RVer and should be a very simple to operate and take care of. We like the size of it and how easy it will be to maneuver and get into spots that other RVs won't be able. We think renting a van before you buy is a great way to go!

  • @udmbfckx2916
    @udmbfckx2916 Год назад +8

    Amy is more in tune with the solo liveaboards who want to travel and/or work than anyone else in the large RV mfg industry. The fact that they went with the Ecoflow vendor to incorporate a solution for off-the-grid power is a step in the right direction. Obviously demanding solo travelers want a little bit more, like more solar panels up on top, larger battery capacity and maybe 4wd/awd but that costs more, in some cases way more. I would be happy modifying this design a bit by replacing the a/c with a smaller roof fooprint, more panels and batteries. Plus all terrain tires.

    It is nice to see RV companies getting on with the Lithium Batteries.
    This model is not that much different than the Rize and the Scope which all these ( new floor plans) are basically Haymer Ideas like the Carado.
    I am looking for an RV and I like Class B for many reasons it is nice to see more and more coming up, especially with the power availabilities without relays on loud and not reliable Generators.

      As far as vans go, I do believe this is a good value. I am seeing them on dealer lots for around 120K I know that is a lot of money, but compared to other van builds this is actually reasonable.

    • @dan-tv
      @dan-tv Год назад +2

      @@MovingForwardAdventures @MovingForwardAdventures Just 1 year ago, the Pocket 36A's were on dealer lots for $80K. How is this van, which is still on the Promaster 1500, on dealer lots for $120K??? That's a 50% PRICE INCREASE IN 1 YEAR. Just absolutely ridiculous IMO. Inflation alone doesn't explain that kind of increase! I am NO longer interested. There are Solis 59P's on dealer lots, at this moment for $90K and those are on the slightly bigger Promaster 2500 chassis. Seems like Winnebago is "jumping the shark" by putting an MSRP of $150K on these. Even the Airstream Rangeline has a lower MSRP. Sheesh!

    • @MovingForwardAdventures
      @MovingForwardAdventures  Год назад

      I just checked and you are right the 59P's are on dealer lots for 90K, that's a great price! I also double checked for the 36B and couldn't find a price, they all said coming soon, so I must have been looking at 36A prices which are around 110K to 120k not sure why they are selling for so much more than the 59P. I would imagine the 36B will sell for the same price as the 36A. Right now the 36B is at the top of our list of vans to purchase, so hopefully they do price in closer to the 59P of under 100k point.

    My original 2004 Great West Vans Class B (19 ft) had a similar bed design but not quite as versatile. Definitely inspired by Hymer's designs. The issue with cassette toilets is two fold: 1. not so easy to lift when full 2. Places are now banning dumping cassettes into pit toilets/rest stops and a bonus 3rd drawback is North American is setup for black tank dumping, Europe is setup for cassette dumping so not as convenient as you may think they are. Better off putting a blank tank under the van.

      Exactly! It sure beats the $150,000+ tags for the models I have been considering! Of course the amenities are plenty including that lift bed! This model, however, would allow me more flexibility while on the road. I would need a firmer bed mattress and the toileting situation are concerns for me. A commenter mentioned several spots are declining cassette emptying🤔.

    Loving this model, and with the addition of a bathroom, hot water, and lithium this is now at the top of my list, but there are no specs yet on the Winnebago website to fully decide. How long with the AC run without being plugged in to shore power? what is the inverter power? Also how high is the van? I really wish someone would manufacture a van with similar bells and whistles that would fit into a garage!

    • @MovingForwardAdventures
      @MovingForwardAdventures  Год назад +1

      These are really just my guesses of how long it will run. I hope to be able to test one for myself. The size of this RV is much smaller than what I'm used to and Aimee the product planner said the bathroom door can be closed to make the cabin area even smaller and easier to cool, which could possibly extend run time on the AC. Winnebago was supposed to specs out yesterday, I'm not sure why it didn't happen. I found this on their website, but it's more general info about the camper and not really specs

      What I thinking is they can just put a small window kind of AC in a Van, because it doesn't need too much battery to power it up, I tested one small window AC in My Van, running almost 2 hours with a 2000w inverter, two of 6v golf cart batteries drop from 13.5V to 12.5V only when at the same time I have 200w solar panels charging it, if you added more solar panels and more battery amps, I think it's no problem to run the AC all night.

      This particular van is not, but Winnebago does make the Roam which is a Class B van that is and it comes in two different floor plans

    Where does the shower drain the water out?

    • @MovingForwardAdventures
      @MovingForwardAdventures  Год назад

      It has a 12 gallon grey tank with a sewer connection on the outside. We usually empty the drain water once every two days.

      @@MovingForwardAdventures Thanks, I couldn't see how it drains from the video. Looks like a nice van. I also like the longer version with the murphy bed in the back. Very smart engineering for both versions. The lack of a handle and wheels for the cassette is the only downside I see. I imagine it could be heavy to carry when mostly full. No generator? AC with AGM batteries? Idle the engine to run AC or live without it if unable to plug into shore power?

    • @MovingForwardAdventures
      @MovingForwardAdventures  Год назад

      I think the cassette could also get heavy. You can only operate the AC with the lithium package, it won't work with only the AGM batteries, so like you said you would just have to go without or run the engine for the dash AC which may not be strong enough to cool entire van in high heat areas

    • @kingdavidcoffee
      @kingdavidcoffee Год назад

      @@MovingForwardAdventures So the van alternator is not strong enough to run the rooftop AC? Everything has compromises. How about a portable 2000 watt generator outside the van?

    • @MovingForwardAdventures
      @MovingForwardAdventures  Год назад

      With the lithium package it includes a second high output alternator, but without that package you only get the standard vehicle alternator which is not strong enough for the rooftop AC unit. You could hitch up a generator to the back of the van, but it could become a hassle to open your rear doors and we do seem to open those doors often to grab supplies

    This is a great copy of the THOR 17 footer, HOWEVER, they forgot to put the toilet into a cassette fixed..........also the counter top is only made of PAPER (this I learned the hard way) its like paper tissue when any water drip down.........literally. The factory radio was its biggest failure most manufacturers have now replaced the radio with an upgrade....................This unit without upgrades should be $55,000, its built very cheaply!
