    I love your FlossTube. You are honest and true to your personality and that makes for a wonderful watch. I also love to see cross-stitch in the wild, but it rarely happens in my part of the world. I live on the very tip of Cape Cod in Massachusetts and there are only a handful of stitchers out here. That’s why I watch FlossTube. I like the connection. I will confess that the one time I delivered a package from Fat Quarter Shop (I am a rural mail carrier for USPS) I got all goofy and wrote a sticky note to let the recipient know I am a stitcher and was excited to see her package. My postmaster later told me the customer felt like I was too familiar and would appreciate it if I just didn’t notice what she has delivered. That’s fair, so now I’ll just keep my excitement to myself if I ever see anything that could be cross-stitch related 😳

    You are doing just fine. Don't worry so much about how its translating over to us. We can all appreciate the transition of spending hours communicating with little ones to talking with adults across social media. We watch you for you and your lovely WIPs. This is a craft which we love, and you love. Its not a job! You are great company for me as I stitch my projects, and I look forward to more content from you. Your Chatelaine "Evening in te Park" is making me itch to start Chatelaine's "Serengeti Mandala." I have the fabric, cotton floss, silk threads, and beads. It will be a retirement project of a four/five year commitment. Please. Please continue to share those family heirlooms of amazing workmanship on whale bone! I just recently returned from a cruise through Alaska. Breathtaking - and I hope to return for a deeper inland experience far away from the touristy ports. Take are and stay well.

    Hiya, I have watched a little of all your videos. 😊 It warms my heart to see the Alaskan artwork - carved baleen, baleen baskets, the fur baby booties, and beadwork! ❤ My mother in-law had friends that owned one of the fur shops in Anchorage and made sure to get a pair of the baby booties for each of my kids. You stitch a great variety of projects, which is fun to see. You're so fortunate to have gonr to the Queen City retreat and meet everyone. Beautiful Chatelaine! I need to pull the last one I had put stitches in and work on it more. Did you live in Anchorage? I spent most of my childhood in Juneau, moved to Anchorage in my early teens and lived there, with the exception of Wasilla for a few years, until 2016. We moved to the SW corner of MS to be closer to my husband's grandparents that moved down (they moved to Anchorage in the early 50's from here). We are seriously wanting to move back up. We are waiting for husband's grandmother to pass. I can deal with earthquakes and snow (as you mentioned on IG 😂) . The hurricanes and tornadoes trigger an anxiety I've still not become accustomed to. What made you move to the east coast?

    • @lickingfloss
      @lickingfloss  11 месяцев назад +1

      I grew up mostly in Peter's creek (between anchorage and Wasilla) but spent my early years and then later high school years in anchorage. I went to UAF for school. I left in 2016 because of my husband's job. I miss everything outdoors alaska has to offer. there are absolutely no elevation changes where I am now lol and I absolutely do not like the bugs and spiders here lol 😆

    • @WendysWhimsicalStitches
      @WendysWhimsicalStitches 11 месяцев назад

      @@lickingfloss oh yes, I know where Peter's Creek is. I hear you about the no elevation changes. I miss the mountains that are visible from anywhere up there. I have a horse pasture across from us and woods on the edges of our yard. Not very pretty. And mosquitoes? I'm used to the Alaskan mosquitoes. These down here are small and carry nasty diseases. I hope you get back to AK now and then. There's no place in the world like it.

    The basket is beautiful. It looks so elegant and elevated. It's wonderful that you got to grow up surrounded by crafters.
    Editing is so labour intensive. It's definitely the reason I've stopped publishing videos (mostly knitting). Like you I'm about to move to a different area and I wonder if being separated from my community will prompt me to become more involved online again.
    In any case, I enjoy seeing your progress on these projects.

      I also enjoy non edited videos for the most part as well, it makes it more conversational IMO
      to add, I also never thought I'd be on RUclips till 2 months moving into this area. being away from people you know can be hard sometimes

    Loved catching up with you again... Don't apologise for being you and for being human, we're all different and do things in our own way, if others don't like it then that's on them not you. I'm all for licking my floss and I've never had an issue with any of my pieces, I'm sure those pieces from hundreds of years ago were stitched by floss lickers and they're fine. I've gone on to filming in one go and don't edit because life's too short and fast and editing really winds me up to the point I want to throw the laptop 😂
    Your pieces are amazing, I hope you're stitching the head on the fancy lady....

    I wouldnt worry about editing too much. Like yes it’s nice, but you have young kids so who has time for that! Once I stopped worrying about editing/flow of words the talking to a camera got more natural. I just try my best to film for nap time/quiet time, but if you hear kids/cats…that’s my life!
