    I love your 100 Owls project, perfect for Autumn stitching! I am stitching on A Tisket A Tasket, love it... I had joined the start a long for it with Pam at Stitching in the Land of Good Enough... it is great to see how different, yet the same everybody stitches!!! I would love to see the beaded pieces from your grandmother made as decorations for your slippers!!!

    I absolutely love watching you on your floss tube. I’m lucky enough to be a nanny to 9 amazing beautiful grandchildren. 6 little boys and 3 little girls. The eldest is 13yo boy and the youngest is a 6 week old little girl. They are our joy along with our 3 children. So I love hearing your children in the background. I’m down here in Australia just at the beginning of our beautiful Spring weather, whilst you go into your Autumn season. I often now stitch with my little granddaughter now 11yo that I taught to stitch when she was 8yo. I love how you show your families crafts. And look forward to seeing the slippers you make. Happy stitching to you. ❤❤

Every retreat I’ve been to everyone has been extremely friendly so wherever you sit you’ll have a good time. Plus you can table hop to talk to other people.

    Happy Autumn! I went to my first one this May and it was an overall lovely experience. I have already requested a spot for next year's event. Don't worry about where you are going to be seated or how things will run. The event planners will make sure that you are well received and introduce you to a table if you've not already per-arranged to seated at a fellow stitcher friend's table . Just bring yourself, a project (actually I would recommend two so you don't get bored with the one piece). Bring at one completed project (it doesn't to be fully-finished) for the brag table. Bring a few small gifts to give away (but only if you can afford it - there is not expectation to do so.) I brought four charts from my stash which I knew I would never stitch. Several people at the retreat were more than happy to take them off my hands. Also bring a book or another portable hobby for those times when you will want to get away and be by yourself in your room or somewhere away from the retreat area and decompress. Bring a positive welcoming attitude, smile and say hello to everyone you meet. There will be several people at the retreat who will be as nervous as you are, or shy or introverts, and/or this may be their first retreat. I found a great ice breaker at my first retreat was to be brave and occasionally leave my table of new friends, and walk around other tables and ask people about the pieces they were working on and compliment them on their work. I promise you by the end of the day and the retreat you will have several new "friends." Have fun and bring back lots of pictures and a selfie with Nora Corbett!

    If you still have any of the waterlilies floss left, you can put that in some water to see if it bleeds. If it doesn't, you should be safe. Editing to wish you a happy first day of autumn!

    DO NOT Wash or rinse Cathedral Wood Goddess - you might accidentally rinse out some of the fabric dye. Hand dyed fabric is notorious for not being colorfast. That’s not to say all hand dyed is t color fast, but I e heard nightmare stories about trying to get spots off of fabric and having the dye bleed out, leaving a blank spot. The Waterlillies I think is colorfast but once you’ve stitched it into a hand dyed fabric, you don’t want to try washing it.

    • @lickingfloss
      @lickingfloss  10 месяцев назад +1

      I tested the water lilies and the brown silk ran in the water so I didn't put the piece anywhere near water. but i dry ironed it and it turned out fine 🙂
