I'm right there with you about fudging it. Most of mine also have stitches out of place and if someone can pick it out then more power to them. I don't care if it's out by one or two, I'd rather just keep stitching than frog it out.
“I want to know where that one stitch is” same 😂
Fudging it works.
Net working with others that share your passions is the best ever. Good for you finding them.
So glad you found some local stitchers. :-)
Happy anniversary!! Always enjoy your videos (with kids sounds and all❤😂)
I found you last week through your WIP parade. Loved seeing your update and stitching with you! Love the diversity of your pieces! Good luck with your upcoming house adventures. I don't know if they have it but you might try calling The Tinsmith's Wife in Comfort, TX as they have a good fabric selection.
That Canadian shop - if it is in Canadian dollars, might be closer to reasonable when converted to USD?
Savor Life looks fantastic! I LOVE the fabric that you put the pattern on. I’m a paper pattern girlie too, so I’ll have to try the gel pen thing. My issues with highlighters is that they dry out after a while. Also, about your Summer project, I might be biased because I voted for the single color fabric but I think if your comparing it to the other two projects you might be unhappy with the mottled look after a while. I hope your home repairs go well!!
Great progress on your projects, Rachel! Nice catching up with you 💕💕
I love all your work. ❤
Love your Artic SAL. I enjoyed seeing your progress.
Gorgeous stitching!! I've been tempted to try a modern folk embroidery pattern.
Try Hobby House Needleworks for the fabric Ballet Slippers. They show it in-stock in 32ct.
I recently stopped all deadlines, all keeping up with SAL's, all youtube influences who evidently can stitch ninety miles a minute! I stopped, took a breath and reminded myself that I love to stitch. I didn't need all that pressure to have my joy! Focus on your joy!!!😮
I have also been trying to stop the flosstube exciting purchases. I'm really trying to hone in on what I'd really like to stitch!
I took a long, long time away from stitching of any kind while my young persons were growing up...I agree with every other comment here about that. The most excellent thing about stitching in general is that the projects you've started will still be there when you're ready to work on them, no matter when that is! I would suggest that, since you're storing your full coverages in a waterproof bag, you make sure to air them out a couple of times a year so the material stays fresh. Maybe on the first day or spring and fall. Sometime that's easy to remember. One other thing I noticed when you were describing the full coverages is that your voice became happier when you talked about the warm, cozy patterns, like the badger reading at the fireplace, and Yvonne Gilbert's use of color and warmth. The Rivendell piece made you smile as well. Perhaps, if you wanted to work on something at some point, I'd head for one of those because the smile in your voice told me that you are actually more comfortable with them. I'm just tossing out ideas here...I can guarantee one thing - your full coverages will be right there for you, safe and sound, when you want to pick one up and start working on it again. Please have a lovely day!
your comment is so incredibly sweet thank you for the advise, I promise I will take out the full coverages every once in a while just to touch and look at them lol I do really enjoy the comfort stitches probably the best, they do bring me joy. I just need a bit of a break thank you for your comment
You did great. Kids are kids
First time watching, you did well. Don't apologize for kids and cats.... it's normal. take care
You are a very good stitcher. Lately I have found myself getting overwhelmed as well with stitching. Don’t be sorry for taking a break on your full coverages. My oldest WIP, and full-coverage, was started in 2018! Almost half way through. I also gave up on it until I found the Royal Rows method of parking - which I would never have ever done! You are young and have loads of time to stitch. I turn 70 in a week, so, I am limited but…it is what it is! Just keep stitching, anything you like. No judgement here!
Happy early birthday to you! I try to remind myself there is no rush in stitching, it's a relaxing hobby with no need to stress
I'm in love with that Chatelaine you are stitching, absolutely beautiful! 😍 I hope you feel some stress relief now you put some big projects away. Very good decision! Do what makes you happy, it's a wonderful hobby 😍❤ Thanks for sharing all your amazing projects!
Love your projects. Look forward to following your progress. Take care!!
You're a mother with children so do not feel the need to apologize! You're doing great and if you can insert a few hundred or fewer stitches that is still progress to celebrate no matter the amount. I actually enjoyed the fast pacing of this video (of course I'll take whatever WIP parade that is presented). Happy stitching!
What a fantastic parade❤🎉
Another great video. ❤Thank you for sharing your WIPs and your family in the background. I like to hear them I agree with the comments here. I think your idea of using your native language for the animals on the Frosted Pumpkin SAL is a terrific one! I have been taking Anishnabemowin language classes since 2020. My husband and son belong to the tribe. I am going to try to do the same with their language for my Frosted Pumpkin SAL. It will be a challenge since their words can have quite a lot of letters in them! Thank you for the inspiration! Have a stressfree summer and enjoy your family!
How is your language learning going? I have been wanting to learn my ancestral language but don't know where to staty
@@lickingfloss So far I am doing well, I think! We are on break for the month of July this summer. We meet every Wednesday 6-8pm on zoom. We have people that are tribe members from Alaska, California, Washington, East coast states, Canada and the Great Lakes region-where I live. I can read and pronounce pretty well but it doesn't stay in my brain very long, lol! I watch RUclips videos the Language Dept made to refresh my memory. Does your tribe have any knid of language class available to you? They used to meed in person before Covid but now classes are held via zoom. 😊
I enjoyed your WIP parade. I love the Autumn Lane lady. Your Chatelaine is coming along nicely. Maybe Winter is a good time for your full coverage pieces as Summer is so busy with family. I don't care for real long videos, this one was nice. Marilyn
Don’t apologize. You are a mom to young kids and they need you more. do what you can when you can and please don’t stress. It will take the joy from all of your beautiful projects. Keep sharing when you can.
Hi Rachel! Many things to say: Love your videos and enjoy stitching with you and catching up! I may be the odd one, but I love the sound of kids in the background. Mine are about to be grown, 16 and 17, and I remember those days. Don't apologize, I think it's lovely to hear : ) Also, I agree with your thoughts on the HAED sal. It is a lot of pressure for a hobby. Now if it was a gift, okay, but for charts that you may not want to stitch it's a lot. Good for you in calling an audible on that sal! You've had a lot of progress and that's been fun to see. Looking forward to watching your WIP parade this evening! One more thing...we have homeschooled our boys the entire time and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It has definitely stretched and grown me as well as them. However, there is a lot of pressure on both sides, traditional school and homeschool, but also, so many resources available! You can do it, either way! : ) 👍❤
Thank you and I had finished a full coverage but that was for my brother and that took me 11 months .. I guess your right, since it is for me and my house I don't want to stress about it and there are many resources for homeschool which is nice but also VERY overwhelming, especially finding the curriculum for us
Another wonderful video. What fabric are you using for the Frosted Pumpkin SAL?
Hermosa by picture this plus, 28 count
You showed us so many beautiful projects. Your chatelaine is amazing. Even though your stitching is wonderful, my favorite part of your video is the sound of your children being themselves. One of the best parts of this hobby/craft is how our projects will wait for us until we are ready to stitch them. I use ziploc bags to store my projects even though I can and have sewn many project bags. I just find it easier to see my projects when they are stored in ziploc bags because this monkey only works on what she can see. 😊 yes, I am trying to reduce my plastic consumption but I bought these bags years ago during a Costco special so not using them is probably worse than using them. Sorry for my stream of consciousness writing.
Hope your move and settling in has gone well! The adjustment phase does take time, I need to stamp my personality all over the place. My parents just moved last year (3rd move in a decade) and it doesn’t yet feel like their place except for the garden outside which was clearly my mom’s priority
it does take time, I am getting there and more comfortable with the place after these few months
Never apologize for putting your family 1st and I love hearing your littles playing in the background. There are other FlossTube stitchers that have/are homeschooling their children, maybe reach out to them to help alleviate some of the stress you are feeling. Your stitching is beautiful! Stitch what makes you happy, the others will be patiently waiting for you when you're ready to pick them up. 🏩
Beautiful stitching on all your projects. Thank you for sharing.
Great to see all of your lovely WIPs! I admire how much you have stitched into everything you've started. Sure there were a couple "barely started" pieces, but most of what you've started has significant progress. Thanks for sharing!
I do prefer to have a bigger start than a smaller starts
Family has to be the priority. I stopped cross stitching while my kids were little, so don't ever feel bad about making them your priority! If you are serious about abandoning your Long Dog, I would be happy to adopt it...
I would not mind sharing it! would you mind emailing or messaging me on Instagram? so we could talk a bit more about it
Hi! I love your choices of patterns, linens and your stitching! Awesome to see it all!
I think its great that you are prioritizing your life's events over your WIPs. Cross-stitching is supposed to be a fun, relaxing hobby and should not make you feel additional stress. Enjoy your time with your family and stich when you want and when you can without needing to explain to anyone. Take care and stay well.
I keep all my projects in Amazon bags. I love your WIPs. Your Chatelaine is gorgeous.
YAAAS SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS
I keep all my projects in Amazon Project Bags because I am retired and I can not afford a regular project bag and I also do not know how to sew. I use to keep all my projects in Zip Lock Bags and I recently upgraded to the Amazon Bags and I love them. I love all your projects. Your Full Coverage projects are beautiful but I can see why you are putting them away for awhile. All that fabric would stress me out in a heart beat. I really love Princess Asleep. Your Owl projects behind you is so beautiful. Life happens and stitching should be fun and not stressful and I agree that your family comes first. Happy Stitching.
@lindapearson3340 Thank you! I use some ziplock bags for some quick to finish pieces. The Amazon ones are nice and can buy so many for a fair price ... Princess Asleep was my first full coverage and HAED and it was great for the time but they all need a break temporarily
Yes, give yourself a break. No need to feel guilty and stress over the stitching. Enjoy the time you spend stitching, put those full-coverage pieces in time-out for a while (however long that might be), and enjoy some smaller projects. :-) Congratulations on your 1 year Flosstube Anniversary!!
I do feel a relief after putting them in time out. How are your fancy ladies coming?
My fancy ladies are coming along very slowly. :-) I'm working on some Autumn Lane designs for the retreat in October and gift projects I'm working on for others. Trying to get some WIPs out of the way. :-)
@deborahwatkins1493 smart of you to plan for the retreat now!
Happy 1 year anniversary. I am doing Merry Mushroom 3 and I agree with you. I am working on it but I am still on the first part. I am not sure about it. I want to do the 4 pages but I am not sure if I would stitch any of the charts.
Stitching is supposed to be a relief and I think maybe the sal deadline makes it not so
@@lickingfloss I agree. It makes me feel like I have to stitch it.
How about tucking the full coverage away and do some smalls that can be fun. The full coverage aren't going to go away, just taking a break.
@@noreencurry5901 yes taking a break
Follow your heart. You will miss out the free ones but in time you may realize you have plenty to stitch. Once in awhile you may pick it up, but stress is not what you want to do - stressful is not what this is about.
@noreencurry5901 I agree, I have plenty to stitch. I am also taking this break from full coverage which I think makes me okay missing out on the free charts
Happy 1 year Anniversary. Can not wait to see your WIP Parade because you have very interesting projects. Happy Stitching.
Congratulations 🎉 🎉🎉
Congratulations on your 1-year Flosstubiversary!
Thank you so much!
WIZARDDDDDDDDDD!!! 1. WHERE did you get that dress?? It’s beautiful and gorgeous on you! 2. Your QCSR piece is AMAZING!!! So gorgeous on that fabric, I’m in love! I’m so sorry for your loss! ❤ I hope the pipe fix goes smoothly!
Thank you and I got it from World Market
Great projects. Sorry to hear about your family member's passing. Marilyn
What a great video with your love of various interests in stitching. The children add the homey effect.
Your stitching looks amazing. I enjoy watching your Flosstube channel for the varied projects you stitch on and also like the children’s voices in the background. Hope the work on your house goes well and enjoy the summer! Cheers.
