    The Scarecrow turned out so, so cute!
    You have some great WIP pieces & kitted up projects.
    The Goddess is coming along nicely.
    Don't worry about what your stitches look like, its whatever YOU like, you do you!
    Keep showing us the native artifacts, those booties look a lot like the ones my Aunt gave me.

      I would say it's a little cartoony not super spooky. I think the cross eyed cricket has a cute one as well and it has more landscape and buildings to it

    I am super excited about your desire to show a bit of native art in each FlossTube! You could find yourself nudging all the uncles and aunts for more little treasures before long 😀 Also, all the Gingerbread Village charts went into my 123 cart, though I will first check to see if my local-ish (nothing except beach is truly local for me) shop has some of the charts. I want to stitch them all on one piece of fabric. I just discovered I can actually comfortably stitch on 20 ct aida (I am an old lady, a term I fully endorse because lots of people don’t get to be old) so that’s what I’ll use for the village. I am also celebrating a birthday in November and since I am an autumn/winter baby I want to start two seasonal projects. Rosewood Manor’s new Dreaming of Falling Leaves and the gingerbread village. Also, I love that you have 123Stitch emergencies. A quiet, tinkling alarm goes off in my head when you say that. So many lovely future WIPs in your parade! Thank you. Yours in licking solidarity, Bonnie Jeanne

      I was planning on gingerbread village also for kind of a birthday start. I was planning on starting it sometime after Halloween (and fruits of plenty sometime then too). happy enabling because I'm going to have to check out dreaming of falling leaves

    I'm working on Unexpected Visitors too! It's fun. Always gets a good reaction from non stitchers when they see it too. lol. The border looks so good stitched.
    Omg, the wood goddess is gorgeous! The blue dress on that fabric looks so good!
    Hope you get to feeling better!

    Love those little boots made by your Grandmother.
    Could you show the chart of the complete picture from your pattern prior to showing your work? It gives us an idea what is going on with your work. Your scare crow is so sweet.

      yes I can. I printed some charts out to show but I forgot to pull them out. sorry about that

    Hi. I have never heard of Creative Accents but I have owned the chart they are calling "Spirit of the Cougar" for over 15 years. It was issued as "Noble Reflections" and designed by Sandy Bodine for Sunset in 2007. It is a true treasure and glad it is back in popularity. I am three quarters done with it (lots of blends and back stitching) with hopes to complete it next year. I suspect that you will probably finish it before I do for sure. Take care and please continue to share Alaskan native crafts with us. I loved what I saw on my trip to Alaska in May.

      I dont plan on starting it anytime soon i just wanted to have the piece. and where did you go in alaska?

    • @Jasmine-ur1sl
      @Jasmine-ur1sl Год назад

      @@lickingfloss It was one of those trips of a lifetime. A cruise which had been in my bucket list to take my Mother, but she passed away two years ago. I decided to go on ahead without her in May - and on what would have been her birthday and honor her memory. The ports of call were Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. Every time I watch your channel, and see the beautiful artwork native to Alaska which you share - I am fondly reminded of my awe of the beauty I saw in Alaska. It is calling to me to return. Take care, and thanks for letting me share.

    measure a piece and see how many stitches it makes then you will have an idea of how it will last. I figured that out when I had a worry about how many beads I had and would I have enough to cover a project. I took a quater laied it on my pattern and saw how many beads dilled the quarter shape worked out great.

    I have some handmade moccasins from when I was a baby that I used for my babies (until my cat got a little TOO interested in the fur trim) and I need to look at preserving them a bit better.
    Love the Cathedral Goddess, she is coming together amazing!
    Lots of fun kits, I’m terrible as once I have the supplies I pretty much start, too excited to wait and so neglect everything all the time

    • @lickingfloss
      @lickingfloss  11 месяцев назад +1

      I never thought about preserving them. They're in the closet with all my clothes. I know storing furs with cedar blocks are good but other than that idk
      for my kits, I sometimes wonder, what am I waiting for!? just start it! but then I don't lol

    • @chinookcrafter
      @chinookcrafter 11 месяцев назад

      @@lickingfloss yeah mine aren’t full fur, just trim at the top. So the leather needs to be conditioned or something as it’s showing it’s age. I know they were handmade by a family friend so I just need to get my mom to ask that friend the best practice for keeping them in good shape. They don’t even get worn a lot because of the sentimental value/cat attacks

    Do you have any preference in buying kits to buying patterns?

    • @lickingfloss
      @lickingfloss  Год назад +1

      I prefer pdf patterns for bigger pieces like the big dimensions gold i have i wish would be pdf. I enjoy having the kits though because it has everything you need. sometimes it's fun to play with floss and fabric but sometimes it gets overwhelming
