As someone who struggles with severe anxiety and depression, I am currently trying to figure myself out while trying cope with things around me. This was really nice and beautiful to hear...they seem so peaceful and happy. i hope to see more of them in future videos🥰♥️

The wisdom that these men are dropping is beautiful, there's alot of stuff here that I needed to hear and being from a Cajun family myself it almost makes me shed a tear. I don't know how to explain it because I myself have never had the pleasure of visiting Louisiana, I live in Texas but most of my family is from Louisiana and yet I get a strong sense of home watching this video. Maybe these guys just remind me of some family members but it's heartwarming all the same. Thank you so much for this video Mike!

All great advice! Especially about staying happy with simple things like gardening and hunting. And for the record: squirrel is very tasty but you need to cook it right. IE slow cooked with gravy
I really needed to hear some of this and I enjoyed all of it! Depression and life changes are kicking my butt right now, but a little cajun perspective helped a bit.

I love hearing old stories of my grandparents! We were one of the very first ones to ever move to the small town we live in and I took care of the family who opened up the very first hardware store and the elderly man turned 100 years old and I did his birthday and then his wife turned 99 and I did her birthday and they were also friends with my family and the elderly man was deaf so I had to write everything on a whiteboard to talk to him and I took care of them for about 2 years until they passed away but I've taken care of elderly my entire life and like they say do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life it was amazing and I loved every second of it and he would tell me stories also about my grandpa going down the old dirt road and his Studebaker and and things like that and it was really neat and until this day their family still produce fields of peanuts and also cotton and it was really neat when I took care of their family to watch them cultivate the peanuts and collect the peanuts it was so neat to sit down with someone that old that has that much knowledge and has been through the depression and all that it was so amazing and also them being friends with the family and telling me things about my family that I never knew was all so amazing I miss them so much💞🥺💞

Bring from the south, I can say that we all know a “skeeter.” Us Cajuns really are good people but we tend to be seen as dumb or insignificant to the rest of the United states. I find it fascinating that a Canadian came all the way down here and found someone as original as this to show how we really are. The man cooked for you, he drank with you, he taught you a thing or two, offered a bed in his home and even physically fed you! Even though I didn’t see it on film, I know for a fact he saw you off with a big tight hug. This is exactly who we are. Sure, we talk funny and we don’t live in a palace or mansion but we take care of family, we do what we love and we pray! And if the world ends tomorrow, we’ll still be eating good and thriving because we truly know how to live off the land. This vid and the eating crawfish vid were great! Very entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
