This is so helpful. I almost had a nervous breakdown due to the frustration of failing to cornrow my hair successfully.
I hate trying to cornrow my hair. It takes forever cus I’m not that good at doing it

I like this method. I’m gonna try it out tonight instead of cornrowing after washing. Hopefully it will save me some time and energy and most importantly I’m hoping it will be healthier for my hair. I usually leave my cornrows in for at least a month sometimes more. My hair is growing but it gets so dry and stressed I’ve noticed that I get a lot of split ends. Maybe this is the change up I need to get past my latest plateau.

Your real hair is so thick and pretty. I also wear my real hair in single plaits under my wigs. I wear silk or satin wig caps since the stocking caps broke some of my hairline off a few years ago. 🙏🏻

Thank you this is helpful and your hair is beautiful...my hair does not "respond" well to cornrows anymore for whatever reason but I will do this now and pop my wig on..plus I like it you mentioned how with this method you can get to your hair and re-moisterize often and I know I need to do that too! That’s pretty awesome and I will try it. I cornrow very but I don’t think my hair likes it either. You said you would be keeping the braids for 2 weeks but would you be Co washing during those two weeks?

It's stunning
I did some box braids and it grew my hair so much and then I removed it and did cornrows so I could wear wigs and it was so tight at the back of my hair and it ended up messing up the very back of my hair.. I was so annoyed because my hair actually grew a lot with the braids and I just messed it up right after 😭
Do you use a heat protectant? Or after using the crème, you blow dry?

I'm not sure about the shedding I haven't compared that but I feel like we lay flatter with plaits versus cornrows.. I found this video just because I wanted to see if I were the only one

My cornrows get super fuzzy just days later under my wig caps. I'll try it this way next time.

I tend to start off too tight when I do my cornrows and then I find myself taking them out at the end of the night because I can’t take it and I experience shedding with the cornrow method as well!! This video was super informative I will be doing this method permanently.
