Speaking on the vittarifolium, I've had mine hanging off a shelf in my living room and it's upsized and put up with my neglect! My house humidity is all over the place, it's gone anywhere from 25-95% through the seasons, with the summer around 60% most of the time. I have repotted and propagated it, it always seems to crawl towards the light so I shove the butt towards the back of the pot, let it root along, then chop it once it comes off the front too much again...

I'd love to throw a shout-out to the Philodendron Brasil. I also have one growing up a pole and there is so much beautiful variety in the variegation patterns. I've often thought of planting a little Rio in with my large Brasil, but I've been unsure if they would be happy roommates with similar care and the Rio's price inhibits me from freely experimenting. I agree that the Rio's coloring is more in my taste and the elongated leaf structure is lovely while being just a bit different. But my Brasil, grown from a few cuttings...so a sentimental attachment is expected, has handled neglect, as well as being knocked over this summer by my neighbor's blind dog (sweet baby that she is, my fault of course) and kept thriving and holds her leaves so long in perfect condition, so she is a superstar in my collection.

Hi Fern on your previously variegated plant, it could be that it was chemically variegated which means not long after bringing it home it looses its variegation or another possibility could be that it needs a higher amount of light , sometimes plants will also lose their darker/richer colors and go more plain in lesser light conditions.

I think that the krimson hoyas growth is mature of plant. I scored a large princess from home depo and since I've had here she grows fast than my pothos. I personally haven't got my hands on a queen yet. So I can't compare fairly but how you feel about the growth of your queen is the same as mine with princess. Made me think it's maturity of plant and proper care that make them grow so vigorously. Thanks for all your videos. I love watching and live vicariously for your collection. Also appreciate your care tips since I live in PNW and struggle sometimes with combating our climate.

Hot debate: epipremnum pinnatum and raphidophora decursiva are both being marketed as philodendron dragon tail or just dragon tail. I think he epipremnum was first called dragon tail. They both are kinda similar when they’re very young and very mature, but in the middle they are soooo obviously different.
I have what I call a “dragon corner” in my hallway, where I have plants with dragon in the name, so I’ve kinda killed myself with some research over this plant haha.

I got a slightly rooted one leaf Thai cutting with an active growth point around a month and a half ago and it's about to give me the first new tiny leaf! Very excited!! I put it in Pon in a self watering pot and so far it seems to likes it!!
I also have the albo and the aurea and so far, I haven't had any problems with those two. Very curious how the Thai is gonna hold up against that.
I'm also very stoked to now have a large form monstera in my collection with the Thai, even tho at the moment, I don't have the space for it getting super large, (which is why I got a more juvenile one) but I am excited to see where it goes!!

Got 69686!! It sits in semihydro, in DIY stones. I love it with all my heart and highly recommend it. I live in a Tiny House with a fireplace so the humidity is 40-50%! Greetings from Poland!! ❤❤

There is a large form Albo but those are so much more rare and expensive and unstable than the small form. Unless you are really serious about collecting monstera or you luck out and find a large form albo sport at a box store, probably no need to get one, at least until they become a little bit more accessible!

I have an Obliqua & an Adonsinii too - your adansonii is gorgeous! I like it better too. I am surprised I got the Obliqua bc it 'always' makes me think of a Tim Burton movie or that's it's a skeleton leaf.

Hey lovely great video, with your Florida Beauty when mine acted like this I sadly had to really go extreme and chop her right back down to the last leaf that was the most "even" with varigation. Looking at your plant one of the very bottom leaves looks like it has varigarion more even across the whole leaf and not a pure half moon. If it was me I'd cut her down to that and then prop the rest of the nodes to see if you can n get some more babies with better varigation. Good luck and keep us posted xx

Thank you!! Yes, that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to chop her into single node propagations soon and cross my fingers.

@@wildfern Sending you all the good planty vibes Fern (plus big hugs for Olive the princess of your channel 🤗). Mines was super successful and I've ended up with 5 babies only one of which is full green but there's varigation on the stem so I'm hoping with good lighting and feed a future node will hit where the varigation is and throw out some beauty leaves...I've used the same technique with other variegated Philodendron, Syngoniums and monstera that have reverted or given full varigation on two leaves...they all have had the big chop...and I have to say all of which has given good results for my plant plus I've (with a little patience ended up with several young plants from each mama plant that I could sell to bolster my plant buying savings accounts!! You are looking so well atm Fern, really hoping 2023 is a year that your hopes and dreams are fulfilled x

Painted lady is the variegated version of red emerald. Same species (erubescens), different cultivar. I love my red emerald. I think it’s a highly underrated plant. It’s common in the sense that it’s cheap and widely available but you don’t typically find it in your average plant store as it’s not commonly sought after. I wouldn’t even own one if it wasn’t a freebie in a plant purge when I first started collecting plants.

that vittarifolium just needs to be repotted xeeper. many anthurium in nature tend to grow in places that collect debris and will cover the base of the stem over time as it grows.

The begonia i have been searching the one that you own is such a pretty one and i prefer the round bumps they look like chocolate chips not a fan of the spikes with hairs one which is an easier one to get. The Hoya Krimson Princess and the Queen got me started in collecting Hoyas. The Krimson Princess is a gorgeous one i love the pink when they emerge and also the pink stems is lovely. I would not be able to live without these two. The Queen definitely a more faster in growing. The variegations on the florida beauty is gorgeous while the ghost new leaves only shows variegations then turns green. Unplantparenthood Florida Beauty is gorgeous which i fell in love with her one. I think is sometimes got to do with genetics in the plant too to own a good one.

Omg @wildfern! Steve's Leaves had a melanobullata restock Monday before last for about $30!! Wish I'd seen this beforehand and could have told you. Another youtuber hinted it's best to use the wait list since they restock things weekly. Obviously they have ferox as well. Melanobullata seems to have mixed reviews, I've seen some day it's super easy others say it's not. It's my first begonia (your collection made me take the plunge) so hopefully it's easy going, within a day or two it already started growing so good sign I guess
