The idea itself is not new. Remember that Microsoft started the ball rolling with the Continuum back in 2015. Heck, Motorola even made the Atrix 4G with the optional lapdock to turn the phone into a desktop in 2011! These days, only Samsung, Huawei, LG, and Motorola would give PC desktop experience from a smartphone.
Love the way he presents the feature. To the point. Wondering if there is any lag while using Miracast. When I tested the miracast feature like 8 years ago, there is a lag when I am trying and moving the mouse and that doesn't feel good. Wondering how it is now a days
I have been using DEX on my S9 very frequently. I really find it very useful. I have a DEX Pad, but use it often via my PC now. On my new S21 5G 256GB it doesn't work though. Or at least: it starts up, but after a few minutes it starts giving warning notifications that the phone is overheating because of XYZ app, and it will close the app in 20 secs. It does the same after a complete factory reset. Very unfortunate...
A company needs to make a phone like this. When you plug your phone into an external monitor, Chrome OS opens up. Just think of a Google Pixel with stock Android, then stock Chrome OS when you plug it into a monitor.
Hi, thanks for asking! Samsung DeX runs on all of Samsung’s flagship smartphones introduced since 2017, including the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G and S21 Ultra 5G! You can learn more about DeX and the devices its available on in our beginners guide here: insights.samsung.com/2021/01/14/the-beginners-guide-to-samsung-dex-6/
Is samsung dex going to ever work on note 10 lite? I know that the usb on this device can't push hdmi signal, but still it can handle the wireless version no problem.
Dex is definitely better with wired connection there is no lag, runs smoother than windows on pc. Wireless usually lags, but varies a lot depending on the device you connect to i have tested on some decent to some that are almost unusable.
@@JoseLuceroRodriguez Exactly. Wireless connection always suffer from latency lag. That is why I only do wired connection unless if I only want to watch videos.
On the S21 Ultra, you can run DeX at WQHD resolution (2560x1440) on a standard aspect ratio monitor. If you have an ultra-wide monitor, you can run it at 2560x1080. Either way, it looks very crisp!
Need this with a wireless charging pad that automatically starts Dex when placed on it.... come on guys, we need to lay the phone on a pad and Dex just starts 100% easy and wirelessly.
Though I like the idea of DEX it hasn't been very useful to me since my Note 9 because Samsung cancelled Linux on DEX after the beta. When I plug in my phone to a big monitor and go through the trouble of hooking up a mouse, I want a desktop experience, not a 2nd rate proof of concept. Kind of reminds of the promise that Samsung notes would sync with OneNote. Seriously, what a disappointment! Don't just promise, deliver.
I like the way he presents and talks about the product. He should do more Samsung product demos!
He whistles on every "S", says "Boo-toof", and "Tecks". Probably a nice guy but you know he says the N-word in his personal life
@@theloanranger2632 What a weird assumption
Samsung DEX is one of the most futuristic feature we have ever seen, unlike any other smartphone go ahead Samsung ❤️

Please take desktop productivity to the next level and offer Dex for dual monitors.
If it did this I would genuinely have it replace my PC.
The best feature .. i will replace my iPhone just because this
Make Dex available for Dual monitors. That is the next step to make this a real game changer.
dex is a game changer for me!
How so? 🤔
Mr Nuñez, you got swag!

It still does show some latency lag if you are doing heavy intensive work.
Finally after all these years I fully get rid of Windows laptop for good and have only single Samsung Galaxy device. Fckn love Samsung DEX! 💘
I still have my Windows laptop for AAA gaming and multimedia work, but me too now only use DeX when I'm travelling light. A worthy feature to have.
Dex is amazing! I wish all android products had dex!!!

Much needed technology.. great
what is the keyboard and mouse on the video?
Bring this guy back on this channel Samsung
I love Dex, however I wish my (non-samsung) dock had a headphone jack in addition to usb ports.
Can i ask something? Can the galaxy s10 work wireless with DeX?
When will Dex go 4k?
Nice Video. My question is about the Security when useing Bluetooth Keyboard. Is the connection encrypted? Thx.
Does the monitor have to connected to wifi in order to use wireless Dex? I plan on bringing it to an office that does not have wifi.
Does it support 4k60 and 5k60 monitors?
Where did the 27" Smart Monitor go? Can't find it on the Samsung site.
It's really cool and been using it a caldigit usb c dock. Annoyingly though it won't let me select my Z fold 2 for audio playback.
whats choose screen mary
This guy is good!
Does this work on an S20?
Yes, wireless DeX works on the S20, Note20, Tab S7 and many other previous generation devices. Make sure you have accepted the latest OS updates.
This has been a feature since at least the S9
Dex works since S8 in all S and Note lines, except a few called lite. also works in some newer tablets
@@SamsungBizUSA yup my note 10 plus also have it.... 🔥❤
Hi, I want to ask, which phone gives full dex experience? Samsung s20 note ultra 5g or s21 ultra 5g? Thabk you for your answer!

can DEX connect two monitor?
Oh, interesting question
Please add this function to samsung tablets work as monitors
U can use the Tab s7 as a second monitor with the latest One Ui update..
The keyboard on the video? Feel cool
What keyboard and mouse are they using. I'm struggling to find ones good for Dex.
I have wireless mouses and keyboards none pick up
is dex useable with s7 edge ? can we use microsoft office word documents too ? why buy a lap top anymore, this is 👍
You must have at least a s8 in order to use dex, dex is compatible with s8 and above
No, you can't. Samsung started implementing DeX on the S8.
Can you connect DeX wirelessly without a Smart Monitor? For example, using a smart device such as Amazon Fire Stick.
It works with Xbox, so I don't see why not
Anything that supports Miracast..,.
Love this idea
TEAM SAMSUNG LETS GO
Using dex through my smart TV can I plug in a USB lable printer in the TV USB port and print using dex?
No. Connect your printer wirelessly to your phone and then you would be able to use the printer.........
Is samsung dex going to ever work on note 10 lite? I know that the usb on this device can't push hdmi signal, but still it can handle the wireless version no problem.
No, the Note10 Lite doesn't have native DeX support.
Cool feature:-)
Give me link keyboard and mouse, please.thank you 😍😍😍
Nice! Where is the smart monitor available?
You can order it direct from Samsung: www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/smart-monitors/32--smart-monitor-with-mobile-connectivity-ls32am500nnxza/
Did you say Microsoft Continuum?
Still using it from my Lumia 950. It really is hard to believe that Microsoft got the idea right at the first attempt.
this blows my mind
sounded like Jay-Z.
Is there any option to install dex mode in J series.
No, DeX is only available on Samsung phones with flagship-tier chipset.
I bought and returned the smart tv 27 inches. I tried the wireless dex mode, but it was super slow. Not worth the money.

What's the display resolution available on Dex? (Using S21 Ultra)
2K

@@karanbidhuri You can play games.
@@karanbidhuri you can play games. For example game A3: Still alive (Diablo like game) looks damn good in graphics (almost like a PS4 game)

Relax, dex is like 3 yrs running. It takes time to make things happen.
Fucking cool features. I love Samsung
Would this work on a motto g optima max
the downside of the Wireless is the latency and 30hz ..you can't be that productive with that
Awesome!
Nice
i like the vava
Now we just need steam to make a dex app that let's us play our games on dex
This is a phone. It's not powerful enough to run pc games. You can't just connect a new RTX graphics card to it. Loool
Apple left the chat
I love it
Us too!
I barely use my phone, I got the tab s7. It does all. My laptop has become a paperweight.
Samsung is 1 to the power 600000000 times better than apple
Me using Ubuntu Touch: cool
Cool
It was Microsoft idea but the phone is dead. Sadly, i prefer windows for this one
That's where cloud PC come into play.
@@Shadowyesville Very few people would be interested with that idea.
thats what "innovation" looks like iSheeps
Dex is cool but technically it's just a hacked-up Android experience.
Erria! @Maperro
You forgot to talk about the Battery life!!
Buy a Samsung DEX station or wireless charger and just drop your phone on a wireless charger. Works for me.
Ftw
Sadly you still refuse to make steam run natively so its useless
Lol, this is still an Android phone, not a Windows smartphone.
