you are right, they are not smart enough to have a small one for homes. I did find there are cheap solar tracking that your current or a normal solar panel can use?
These types of ideas are cute and very sexy. However, having been in the solar industry for 25 years, I can assure you that you will not sell very many of them. Definitely keep your day job!
Granted it is a beautiful design; but efficiency is a different matter. For a given height and width, maximum coverage will be achieved by a rectangular shape. Any other shape will incur wasted area as cells are not manufactured in odd forms. On the petals you can clearly see 10+% of the area that is not covered by cells. Combine that with 20+% lost in the circle to square ratio. Efficient?
Well certainly an interesting video. It is a complete failure. How can you make any of these claims and list? Nothing about cost? This kind of video borders on a scam.
Lots of mechanical stuff to break down, hope the company is around for 25+years for service and spare parts. As always spend your money on more panels and fixed mounts, better reliability, more power and less headaches.
Neat idea, Guess you can program sunrise and set based on your gps world wide to also have it auto set for max sun. Also a mini version for marine or RV would be cool
Any time a video advertisement like this deliberately does not mention the pricing options up front, You can expect it to be outrageously expensive. This means that any money you save by using this device is really no savings at all because of the exceptionally high up front cost of buying and installing this solar panel setup. In the long run it will take a new buyer just as long for this device to pay for itself than a conventional roof-mounted solar panel setup.
Its not necessarily a gimmick. Its a great idea and looks awesome. But it produces fuck all for the cost. Its more about looking good and that it can clean off snow/rain/etc on its own.
*Beautiful technical gadget Ideal for hotels, company front gardens etc!* However: Approx. 10 k $ costs (Smartflower & foundation) for only 2.5 kWp. In addition: where there is mechanics, there are maintenance and technical problems. *If you want cheap green electricity, "Solarflower" is of course nothing for you!* That's what the company roof is for.
Excellent properties and merits towards modern needs for local or commericial usage. But its cost is too high than its properties. As in Pakistan 60 to 70% citizen facing energy issues & they find cheap & useful solar energy for their business & home usage.
do you use solar tracking, i just looked at Amazon and seen some for low prices?

There are local companies that can mount 4 x 400 watt panels on at tracking pole for far less cost.. I opted for 7kw on the roof and on good days I can get 3 to 6kw an hour for about 5 to 6 hours a day equaling 17 to 35KWH at 1/3 the cost.. This is more a high tech novelty item like the big wind mills in town that were put up by several factories which we never see spinning..
I'd say you were absolutely correct, sadly. If it can generate 40% more energy, it will generally still be cheaper to add 40% additional traditional static panels when you factor in mechanical failure, parts and labour. Now, if you want solar generation, a piece of moving art, and like to fix things, then this is right up your street.
Should be upfront about the prices. You can't make a good level decision without know the price up front. Having to ask for the price is what kills it. Its like a interview to filter out those you don't want to serve to those you do want to serve. Its a monopolistic practice. If one can project there needs then they can tell you if they can afford it and those out there can save up to afford it. But without that predictability its a hands off approach. Your loosing that business. I guess your ok with that.
By the time you figure in shipping, concrete and installation your looking at an upfront cost of $66,000 with a 10 year warranty. It's best for commercial applications and residential applications where roof applications aren't desirable and ground space is limited.
Extremely expensive technology gadget! It also requires a lot of maintenance and is prone to repairs. *With simple solar panels, you can generate electricity for 10% to 20% of the cost of Smartflower.*
800% what? Ha ha ha I would guess 50 to 100% more efficient per surface area, at best. Also 50 to 100% LESS cost effective. It will probably fail within the first 3 years. Cost for repairs will eat anything positive from this, and then some. There is NO chance this is as cost effective as roof top solar.
the cost was around $36K with out battery backup plus installation it would be nice if it was cheaper or you could get a lot of for taxes .
that's the day-night work of engineers, make it more efficient and competitive to the business, hope this work
I've wanted one of these for so many years!!!
On the right track!!!!!
Neat, but looks way too expensive for decent ROI compared to conventional rooftop solar!
exactly i bet it costs a fortune
It would be better if they made a smaller versions
Two disadvantages. 1. Need big land or space. 2. Easier for vandals to damage because its on street.

These are super cool but also super expensive. If these were like $10,000 each, I might be open to it.

No. Bad idea.
Hi, is it available in Mallorca, Spain?
That thing used to cost 20,000 Euros in Europe. They sell it at double the price in the US. Insane inflation.

This unit will never pay for the initial cost + upkeep.
All good but I wonder on maintenance and cleaning brushes and the Solar Tracking motors??
light maintenance required, there is a maintenance plan available with purchase.
I produced 3x that KW in one day with 10 fixed panels. That is a gimmick.
Correction: SCAM!!!!!

36k wowser order two
Ahead of yimet, all the best!!!!
I have tried to contact this company to install a system, but I have not received a reply to my email.
This product is way too expensive. Do you have money to burn?
They could produce much larger version too. If diameter is twice longer, the area is 4 times larger.
Who can afford this unit? And want one with 4X the surface area? Ummm ... No.

Lawn Art for the rich.
Coukd we see s cent percent tiiftop in any Japanese city?
What is the website?
Why? You can't afford it.
Price??
Make the panels transparent so the flowers behind can absorb sunlight.
When you need more energy to keep it smart
Affordable af please send it to me thanks
This just might solve my problem 😊
I doubt that
Slowly rotating spindle that folds/unfolds a solar array should cost next to nothing.
❤❤🎉🎉
im sure its more than 10 % more power as compared to static
What if I told you this is wayyy too expensive to be practical, plus more parts to break to incur most long term cost?
I'd say you were absolutely correct, sadly. If it can generate 40% more energy, it will generally still be cheaper to add 40% additional traditional static panels when you factor in mechanical failure, parts and labour.

So much cost and "innovation" just for moving the panel during the day and adding a sprinkler?🤨
so its is chandelier for the rich aka fancy light bulb . now the have fancy solarpaner known as smart flower..
i would like that smartflower solar with a baterry for energy saving for my citys carbonizers of waste😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
What is stopping you, from buying it?
Had me after saying “affordable”
Fantastic?
$40K Would take 50 years to pay for one and I'll be long dead.
Thanks for nothing

Just add a light for 24/7 365 power! Wind power just add a fan! Hydro power just pump the water back into the lake!!!
Ok
Is it good in Florida? If it costs more than $3600 a year, then no thanks. We already pay that amount now. if it would cost half that then yes
$25,000-$30,000
No thanks

Flowerpower, dont use drugs when you design stuff lol
Artificially manufactured content yet again

Too much rampant profiteering
It is abusing.
Ok
