Wow. "Safe miles came off the road during the pandemic..." That says a lot. Who was going out and mixing and mingling during the pandemic and who was staying home? Food for thought.
Omg..it's going the wrong waymo
Ok, you get my like. Grudgingly. lol
Wrongwaymo...
Funny , 🤣
If a Tesla car went the wrong way, the Media would make it the end of the world.
But if a human does it, which happens multiple times per second, nothing happens
It would be breaking news streamed across the world for a week I reckon.
My Tesla tried to go down a road the wrong way, I stopped it. It's awesome but not there yet.
Yea if a Tesla did that, people would start protesting and lighting shit on fire, throw babies out windows, you would think the world is over, Waymo or Cruze, “ah their learning, they’ll be better one day”, so much optimism in companies that fork over shit tons of money for AD revenue 😂
Top headlines....
Removing the steering wheel nag in FSD 12.4 is a big deal.
I think you are confusing autopilot with FSD ! there is no need to hold the wheel with FSD
FSD frequently requires the driver to apply light force to the steering wheel or adjust the volume control on the steering wheel.
Really? I got locked out of FSD on a test drive because I did not touch the wheel enough.
Major!!!!
There's a reason why - in the US - Tesla does not offer the option to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease period. All these vehicles are coming back to Tesla. Currently they are resold as used thru the Tesla website. In the future, after a quick refurb., they will be added to the Robotaxi fleet.
Exactly!
Hi Steven, I might just be an old guy who knows nothing about anything but I think most people are missing an important connection it the shift that Elon has made regarding a vehicle for the lower income group, worldwide. The people in this group purchase inexpensive cars to get to work, fetch the children, go shopping etc etc, But in reality they cant afford the cost of the vehicle and all the related costs, They are doing what they are doing because there is no other viable alternative and busses and taxis are not the answer. But the moment the robotaxi becomes a reality and ride hail is a service, for a fraction of the cost of owning and running a vehicle, and here's the significant point, PEOPLE WILL STOP BUYING CARS. Why purchase a car and take on all the related cost, when you only use the car for a few hours every day, and you can have all the transport you need, in minutes, for a fraction of the cost. Point to point transport. No parking, no insurance, no charging,. All the service and benefits you want, when you want, without any of the hassle. Wealthy people will always want and own their own stuff, but Mr and Mrs, Miss, average, will be far better served by ride hail. Conclusion. The market for inexpensive vehicles will disappear. And as Tony Seba would predict, it will happen faster than anyone can predict.
I would question your "fraction of the cost" argument. I doubt that robotaxis will be less than $.50/mile. It really isn't that expensive to own and operate a used car, once it's paid for.
@@darylfoster7944yes, but those who have challenges buying a car are also likely more vulnerable because of lack of maintenance, and possibly under insured.
Yes, it will be cheaper for them to use a low-cost robo taxi. It already is for many retired people who don't feel as safe driving themselves to use uber or lyft instead of owning a car. And those people are changing their transport schedules to take advantage of lower cost times, off peak. They avoid peak hours when the cost is high. Boomers are a massive demographic who are all getting old. This will continue to lower the delta between peak and off peak traffic.
Thankyou! I've been saying this for ages, it's pure logic and common sense. I am in that demographic, and I would ditch my car (that I love) for ride hail purely because the government keeps increasing road tax, fuel tax and every other tax so that when I have to replace it I'll have even less money to do so than when I got it.
@@darylfoster7944in metro areas it will be cheaper for 10’s of millions in us alone. People with cheap used cars hate the maintenance, insurance and emission regulations. 200$ a month for gas and insurance vs 400 miles or more in robotaxi. Lots are going to get rid of the cheap used cars.
I think the missing piece now is the last mile support stuff. Like how issues are resolved for rides gone wrong like accidents, vomits and channel for customer comms during rides where required.
21:30 his point about Uber eats and McDonalds is spot on … That’s exactly how it will play out
Would love to see you in an interview/discussion with these guys, running numbers with logic, the debate would be very entertaining and educational, and would need to be bare minimum 1hr episode, can’t wait. C’mon bro, make it happen.
It’s unreal how many people I talk to about Tesla, are just absolutely sleeping and/or talking shit on this company and Elon.
Tim! Anthony!
yes, all my dem friends ...who are very enviro/human well being centric...loathe elon...it's bizarre.
@@rwhirsch I can't stand the guy's xenophobic takes these days, but he's done allot of good for humanity in triggering a disruption toward sustainable transport and autonomy, which should save many lives.
He also worked hard to get there, was no easy journey, and he earned his success, many people seem to fall over themselves trying to detract from it. Petty.
He's kinda like Henry Ford in that regard, another great pioneer and visionary, but with notable character flaws. Likewise with Edison, etc. Nobody is perfect.
The left have pushed Elon from center to far right by their mindless intolerance for success, and now he's hanging out with a bad influence of conspiracy theorists and such. The left, with their own flavor of intolerance, have only themselves to blame here for losing a former torch bearer - and I speak as a progressive/recovering progressive.
@@AllanSustainabilityFan Xenophobic relates to a fear of anything foreign. This guy is from South Africa, moved to Canada than the United States, and has built factories in Germany and China. He seems to enjoy talking with people from all over the world.
Or is this “if you stop anyone from entering your country then you’re xenophobic” ? In that case, wouldn’t most countries be considered xenophobic?
@@jeffg4570 Elon only wants them stopped from entering illegally, which should be the thought process of any sane, rational person.
@@jeffg4570 I know the guy's roots, but I see his posts, what he likes and who he follows regularly these days. Apparently he's got in with a bad crowd and their influence on him has gotten pretty deep, he's no longer a centrist it seems.
It may be his Asperger's at play, sharp in technical matters, but almost child-like on social topics.
And yes, his recent venture into xenophobia is selective, for example in matters that benefit his businesses.
Again, this doesn't detract from his achievements in autonomy and the EV disruption.
I can respect the guy's hard work and struggles, while lament him losing his way on some non-technical matters, as well as understand the betrayals and witch-hunting that drove him to adopt some of his bad social/political stances.
Purchased FSD for a road trip this past weekend. Incredible. Total of 22 hours of driving over 4 days through construction, highways, back roads & heavy city traffic. Incredible performance - safe & efficient. Best part? I felt much less fatigued when I arrived at my destinations.
Yeah it's great for road trips and traffic
when Robotaxi and FSD goes live, Waymo is history. Can't compete in any way.
Looks like they're safe then eh?
maybe waymo can shift its business model to that of a thrill seeking ride....you get in and it does things that are unpredictable and dangerous without quite killing you...and you arrive eventually at your destination sweaty and adrenaline pumping.
No, their cameras have blind spots.
@@themodfather9382 - Like, Yellow Cab Drivers in New York City don't have "Blind Spots?" And yet, they do a "Ton" of Rides/Miles!
You driving has more blindspots. Your 2 eyes versus there 8. Do the math @themodfather9382
Waymo tech is a complex remote controlled car, with GPS navigational guidance & a virtual bumper (lidar) for a brain.
Tesla tech is like a simple human brain with super human vision.
One is learning to be super human too.
"You don't pay them to come, you pay them to leave." Charlie Sheen
Can you imagine sitting at your computer at work, watching TV at home ect. and getting an alert on your phone. Peak pay alert would you like to send out your car? Boom free money.
Won't peak pay be at rush hour? How are you going to get home from work if your car is in use?
Yes, Saturday night! But then you may have to clean the vomit on Sunday morning.
@@darylfoster6133 Not everyone works "normal" hours, or at all.
What’s the bet that the group of investors Bill spoke to about insurance in the Midwest were Berkshire Hathaway? This aligns with Warren Buffet’s recent comments about insurance.
So I Uber and have worked out there’s about 112hr/wk where robotaxi could be put to work. Currently a car avg $30/hr with over. So say robotaxi undercut in terms of pricing so maybe $20-$25/hr (could be a lot less over time). Gross revenue works out to be around ~$134k/yr. So based off that depending on cost of car you can roughly work out break even period. Pretty interesting.
they already aell the insurance in many states. the difference is that they will also be one of the primary locations for repairs. so they control the claims cost much more effectively.
Waymo's Mountain View headquarters is located not 500 yards from where I am sitting. Thus, our neighborhood was used for a lot of their early training. I recall reading at that time that AI was also playing a role in their training. I don't know what part of their process involved machine learning, but it is not zero. The cars always seemed to be behaving themselves, but there was also always a human behind the wheel, so who knows?
damn these guys are brilliant!!! thank you for sharing this
Tesla's Robotaxi capex has, at the moment, been paid for by Tesla car owners... Tesla will incentivise owners to share their cars at peak times, like Autobidder for energy. Also that capex can make money while not being active robotaxis. Grid stabilisation, distributed computing, being useful personal cars for their owners.
Most people use their cars at peak times to get to and from work.
The only problem with x, is that this feels like old news to me. 🤙🏽
What Elon is doing with StarLink, he will do with Robotaxi.
I think it would be wise to start in Logistics and Cross Country truck driving. Delivery testing. Opimus and the car can deliver pizzas or partial services. It doesnt ruin the bots with people.
"Get paid for fucking somebody" love it haha. True definition of a prosecutor
These guys are very sharp. How nice to watch them brainstorming.
Sharp or desperately hoping it all works out for the share price?
I mean if you're literally a know nothing, you might think they are sharp
Disagree. Anyone that becomes a billionaire that decides to trade in these ideas publicly has no idea what to do with their time or money. Elephant in the room.
You're forgetting that Wamo has humans monitoring all those cars. They have NO cars that drive without some sort of monitoring. And only in the mapped area
If you mean monitoring remotely, then you're right
Waymo is on rails.
@@damo87araimo - If "True", then that "Wrong Way Waymo" clip, says, that was a "Derailment!" 🤔🧐😲🙄
@@robertweekley5926 "on rails" meaning its limitations. Not literal rails
Being that the vehicle was still moving, I doubt it thought it was in trouble and didn't notify them. How is it supposed to know when it is screwing up if it is clearly still following its code?
The market needs to realize that FSD means NO MORE CRASHES, INJURY DEATH.
I agree that insurance is an issue for Tesla but we shouldn't forget that the cars capture a lot of evidence that could counter frivolous claims.
Robo taxi getting clean by ooptimus and great video
Why is insurance so much higer in the US? .... a few moments later.. the companies have to ask the government to adjust their prices.... say no more
ICE vehicles have "Collision Avoidance" that doesn't avoid all collisions, is anyone challenging them the way they are challenging Tesla over FSD? No? Then why not?
Government requirements
Just so you know, your customer service folks are awesome!
These guys are smart
The current fleet of cars on the road will never be robo taxis . I fully believe Tesla is going to solve FSD soon. I am currently using FSD for most of my driving and it works great. The problem is human passengers, it is too easy to mess with an autonomous car. For example just leave the door open, current M3 and MY can't close their doors automatically. The robo taxi is going to specifically built not just to drive itself but handle other passenger related contingencies
An Uber driver that has a Tesla will be able to have their car working when they are not. A Tesla owner may add their car to the fleet and re-invest the income to purchase another Tesla. A dedicated Robo Taxi may be Wheelchair capable. A business may own a Tesla and use it to pick up and drop off customers. Stores that do shopping for you may now also deliver. Competition will drive demand and if a Robo Taxi gives a business an advantage they will use it. Not to mention when these cars are not being used they can be connected to the grid to balance demand.
Excellent episode 🤩
I would book from Tesla all day long before Uber given they have the safest cars on the road among other things.
That explanation for insurance increasing was interesting.
The thumbnail is ironic. Tesla not competing in many areas Elon claimed they would.
What areas are those? Semi, Truck, Crossover, sedan, robotaxi, AI, factory construction, battery production, factory software, car software, phone app, insurance, electric motor design, electric motor production, and car parts manufacturing.
Probably car financing in the future if they are not doing it already.
3:53 tesla just got approved today for building a megafactory in china too!! Expected to start building in may 2024 (so right now) and is expected to start production in early 2025
I wonder if a counter law suit against the law firm for the costs of all accidents outside the safe Tesla FSD zone would be the shake up.
I can easily see employees going for shorter work weeks and utilizing their personal cars to supplement income or even get additional time off work.
FSD had to be SO good that no one can doubt it. It has yet to get there.
I thinking the pricing of Robotaxi is done by tesla via tesla app. If you put your car into the fleet, you will get say 70% of the revenue for the rides made with the car. Tesla manages the customers and payments.
Your idea about fixing lawfare ignores the fact that insurance is regulated by state, not by washington AND many lawmakers are lawyers….
Thx
If you want to know why car accidents went up in the US during Covid, I'll tell you. But it's quite disheartening.
The math is simple. Sell a car for $5.5k profit or rent it out for 3 years for $100k profit.
Don't forget customers on the X app.
I think a special paint would help the cameras behave in code
On the roads
Can ypu imagine of they deployed a TeslaBot @ Superchargers to clean cars, plug & unplug them?
I agree with loser pays to some extent, but not all losing causes are unfounded. Let’s not give the wealthy an unfair advantage in court, as they often do already.
Who is going to keep robos clean? The future is here and the future is filthy!
This whole robotaxi scenario business opportunity thing is so fascinating. I can't wait to see how it shakes out. This will be studied in economics classes of the future. So many economic/financial concepts in there
The world's governments aren't going to want to see commercial drivers on the unemployment lines. I can tell you that much. And I can also tell you that if the Robo Taxi project does take off, it might take those driver's jobs, but it won't get you to give up your car. You'll catch Robo Taxis to the airport or home from the restaurant when you've had too much to drink.
Everywhere else, you will drive your car just like you do today, because that is a cultural thing, and nothing will change that.
@@davidbrayshaw3529 you say that as a sure statement when its 100% speculation. personally. i would drop my car instantly if I have the opportunity to cheaply catch a robotaxi ride anywhere. . all the money upfront, financing, insurance, taxes, maintenance off my mind? sign me up. economics beats "culture" any day of the week, twice on sundays. many people already went "full uber" and dont own cars anymore, and thats when uber isnt even that cheap. imagine the economics of robotaxis, they can easily undercut the prices of uber.
but all that isnt even the interesting part. its already a given that robotaxis will be cheaper than uber. I am wondering how exactly they gonna decide HOW they do it. own their own fleet, how they solve the demand spies, do they outsource it, do they finance the cars, do they just sell and make money from profit shares, sell to individuals or fleets. only allow tesla users to use the network, drive sales through that. offer the whole transportation experience in a netflix lie subscription of like 500$ and thats including ownership of car/robotaxi, insurance, charging,fsd....
i have no idea and i find it fascinating
David. I bet your grand parents said the same thing. Not giving up my horsey! FSD enabled car allows u to decide when you want to drive and when you want the car to drive autonomous. Eventually insurance will require u to have FSD bc it will be proven to be safer than human drivers
@@frankleroy3684 How many people can and will be able to pay for FSD as an option?
The biggest car market in the world is the "cheap" small hatchback/SUV market. Why? Because they're cheap.
FSD is going to have to be next to free in order for widespread adoption to occur.
And that sort of compromises the whole business case for it.
Perhaps legislative amendments or insurance costs will dictate the adoption of FSD, but if that is the case, we'll be looking at a whole new underclass that can't afford to drive a car at all.
Oh, and on the topic of my grandparents, my maternal grandparents neither owned a horse, car nor motorcycle. They walked and relied on public transport.
On my Father's side, my grandfather owned
a Brough Superior motorcycle, a French Amel car, a Morris, when they moved to Australia in 1933 which they traded 27 years later for a used 1958 FE Holden which my Grand mother had until 1988.
They kept their vehicles in good working order and they didn't own a horse, either.
@@davidbrayshaw3529 the 60 year olds won't give up their cars, but I think that younger city dwellers will definitely consider going full robotaxi. Many of them never even got a driver's license, and owning a car in many cities can be a major hassle, especially if you want to go electric. Parking is expensive and/or non-existent, and charging is nearly impossible. Add in outrageously expensive insurance, and there is plenty of motivation to give up car ownership.
Waymo is actually providing 50,000 driverless trips a week. Tesla is delivering ZERO.

The guy in the glasses needs a proper guitar stand. Maybe he has one that holds the base bit that guitar that seems to be leaning against the wall makes me nervous. :D

just a dedicated tesla fleet scenario....30k$ profit/car/yr * 10million cars = 300 BILLION!! $$ profit/yr.... 30 p/e ratio = 9 Trillion $ market cap / 3.2 billion shares ~ 2800 $ share price (just off the in-house tesla fleet). Then add private tesla robotaxi...license to other oem's and everything else tesla does...oh, and then optimus kicks in...etc...
The $30k profit seems high to me, but I guess it depends how many miles it drives. Uber drivers only average about 45k miles per year. They would have to charge at least a dollar a mile, maybe more, in order to net $30k after expenses and taxes. And it's going to be a hell of a long time before 10M of them are operating.
Wait until Optimus can move 10x faster than human and help pump out cyber cabs as fast as they can make batteries to fill them up.
Dude! Hell yea, agreed! So the basic “error correction” we see the bots doing now (ie: when putting the battery in and one tipped over, it was able to fix it). Imagine they get better and faster at “reacting”, similarly how the bot reacted to the battery, until they are fast and reactive enough to dodge a bullet. The hardware AND the software would need to go a lot further than what it is right now, but the consistent theme here with Tesla is they are CONSTANTLY getting more and more efficient with everything they do, and throwing AI into the mix makes a recipe for unlimited growth potential, and unlimited possibilities.
Imagine an Optimus “Peace Officer”, maybe one on every other street corner in a bustling city, able to use it’s advance tracking on the same damn cameras that are on the cars, use that to LITERALLY SAVE LIVES, with a response time and powerful enough quickly jump out and pull back a pedestrian from getting struck by a car (if the cars are still this dumb by then, looking like probably not 😉) or able to INSTANTLY spot a crime or threat, jump in a burning building, get deployed to natural disaster relief locations, and have the ability and computing power to again, INSTANTLY ANALYZE and then react to anything. It’s going to change the world forever, for the better mostly, until some dickhead comes along i’m sure, but surely these bots are going to be everywhere, and #TSLA will be reaping the benefits, makes me glad I’m part owner.
Optimus won't 10x in speed because of durability and energy usage. Increased acceleration and deceleration of axes is energy hungry and massively increases load and therefore wear on moving parts.
@@geoffthompson1215 “electric cars will never work” said someone once. Can’t make rockets land back on Earth either, or give the ability to someone to play chess with their mind with a brain implanted chip, yea that’ll never happen, must be impossible. Wrong channel bro. 😎
@@Jstuckey of course boundaries can be stretched but the first principles design mentality of Optimus and the secret of its eventual dominance is based on the energy density of current battery technology. EVERYTHING in its design is determined by that density, and the fact that it dictates a capacity of around 2.5kWh.
Yea, future robots in maybe 10 or 20 years time might have power density that allows different architecture and dynamic performance, but not Optimus, not this Optimus.
The pursuit of dynamic performance has meant that Atlas will never be a success.
@@geoffthompson1215 my theory is that once AI takes over the design of its own physical manifestation, things will go bonkers.
Exciting times!
Eventually Uber will join Tesla. And Hertz will buy Tesla FSD or ribotaxi to hire out at airports to people who just arrived the country and the car will take them to their destination without worries about the routes.
Nope. Neither of these things will happen. Hertz failed to provide service for EVs and have gone back to ICE. Uber’s management are only interested in quarterly numbers not long-term thinking. They will go the way of Kodak.
Old people will still use them for a while …
Dumb question - Why can't we summon a driverless Tesla but drive it? Then the driver drops it off wherever they are going and lets the FSD take it from there. Why sit in the back when fully qualified drivers are capable?

If a specific location has unique rules, the AI can still be taught, especially if the system allows for the very heavy weighing (like 1000x) of the small number of driver assisted prompts for those specific circumstances.

But trading gets risky and a lot of persons loose funds to it.
Usually it's risky trading the crypto market even as an expert but then professional advise and guidance is always the best else losses becomes inevitable.
That's true, but the risks are minimal when you make those moves with the guidance of a professional. People still make huge ROI on a daily.

The best part is the ability to limit the people you share it with.
Think community cars. Your street buys 5 cars for anyone to use with the cost shared.
Pubs and clubs, retail outlets etc use them as a courtesy for their customers if they spend x in store and share the cars amongst participating shops..... possibilities endless beyond the simple buy to rent or renting to anyone
In the "Small Piston Engine, Light Plane Market", there are already business models of Combined Ownership, or "X" number of people, buying a Plane, new, or even used, and each person can Fly it, according to its availability. And some of those are "Clubs" that others can join, and some are just "Fixed" to the specific owners!
Can't imagine why, similar things can't happen, for Electric Vehicles? Like, ok, you bought a Standard Range Model 3, for your "Typical Daily Driver", but, you'd "Like" to use a "Model X" to go on Vacation! But, you don't "Need" that for Commuting, or Grocery Trips, General Errands, etc! So, you join a "Model X Club" that has a few of them, for a Flat Fee per Year, and then a User Fee per "Week" when you want to go on Vacation with it! A "Time Share" business model, if you like!
Funny enough, If such existing business exists, I have not yet heard of any! Doesn't mean no one has done so, but, it's not well known, if it is done!
I would never have joint ownership of anything with a bunch of strangers on my street. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Heres how: step one buy a Tesla. Step 2: copy paste the fsd model. Step 3 build a car and hw that ises the model
I dumped half my position in tesla. I still believe in tesla over the long run but I think the rest of the market is going to behave irrationally over the short term for a variety of reasons. So I might be able to get a few extra shares by buying the dip. I don't have a lot to work with so I really need that needle in the haystack. If you have enough, you just buy the entire haystack and big gains are inevitable.
True ,
incorrect on the reasons for insurance premiums increasing. it's due to their over reliance on AI handling claims. it has eroded cost controls across the board.
Ok so what about that demand peaks issue LoL That one always makes me laugh as the answer is so obvious. Now we have small bus like 5-12 passenger vehicles they can have wide opening doors and flat floors, when passengers are in shorter supply they will carry goods. Call a vehicle load it up and send it unload at the other end, maybe have a Tesla bot onboard to do the loading unloading.
I just heard, from my "Plumber" actually, about information he got, about 5 weeks ago, regarding a "Soon to be" - "Tesla Van" that is "Coming!"
He was enquiring about such a vehicle from Tesla, as he described, and was informed such was "Coming Soon!"
("Soon" might be a Random Guess, or something more definitive, I don't know! But, still interesting, in any case!)
I will be forever grateful to you, you changed my entire life and I will continue to preach on your behalf for the whole world to hear you saved me from huge financial debt with just a small investment, thank you Michelle Stewart.
Wow. I'm a bit perplexed seeing her been mentioned here also Didn’t know she has been good to so many people too this is wonderful, I'm in my fifth trade with her and it has been super.
She is my family's personal broker and also a personal broker in many families in United States, she's a licensed broker and a FINRA AGENT in United states
You trade with Michelle Stewart too? Wow that woman has been a blessing to me and my family.
I'm new at this, please how can I reach her?
I was skeptical at first till I decided to try. Its huge returns is awesome. I can't say much
31:00 I don't think he is talking to account ho is paying for the expenses of the car.
Yeah ill have my cars pair up with an optimus each to maintain them. Done. The perfect money printer in the next decade.
Waymo oh please! I saw the video where the stupid waymo was going the wrong way!!
Imagine what happens when a Tesla vehicle owner adds their vehicle to the RoboTaxi fleet and also needs to use their vehicle at peak times:
I'm going to a club on a Friday night. I need a ride to the club. For the next X amount of time I need my car to be somewhere, but there's probably no parking available nearby, so I am incentivised to let my car go and make me some money instead of sitting in a no parking zone. This just happens to be during peak hours. When I want to leave the club I tell my car to leave the fleet so it finishes its current route and comes to me, so you could say as the owner I have priority on that vehicle. Good for me, good for the fleet.
If there are more people needing rides at peak hours, there are more Tesla owners going places at peak hours and the places they are going to are also the places other people are going to. The fleet is automatically in the right places at the right times.
Generally, it seems you have described a situation where, in a City, the "Penetration" of Tesla's, is sufficiently high, to fit that reality!
And, guess what? Lots of Cities are already like that!
Wyoming? Not so much! But, that's "OK", for now! It will continue to expand and improve available areas!
Number 1
You don't think there will be extremely embarrassing situations for FSD once it's unsupervised? 7:05
no it wii be perfect
Well, what would have caused this "Monitored" Waymo, to "Proceed" out from the Stop Sign, to the Left Turn, if it understood it needs to be further forward, to join the lane that was, at that moment, having "No Room" to fit in? And, what was happening at "Base" (Monitoring Center), that Nobody "Caught" that mistake?
And, we have already seen, even on FSD V11, Proper, and Safe, "Unprotected Left Turns", and FSD 12.3.6 making *its "Own" choices, to make a "Proper Left Turn", avoiding a Right Turn, and then a U-turn, that Mapping & Navigation "Chose!"
If current FSD 12.3.6 is operating, as so many say, as smooth as a Great Human Driver, what is your take, that it won't be even better, by the Time it is "Unsupervised?"
And it's only "Early May!" With the Unveiling on August 8th, 2024, of "Robotaxi" that's about 8-9 Weeks forward, from FSD 12.3.6! Still time to continue improving it between now and then, and probably even after, as "Unveiling" usually is some "Months" before "First Delivery Event!" 8/8 is just the Unveiling, remember!
So, in the "Common Idea" based on "The Pessimistic View", sure, "Something" could be a "Strange" situation, or event, that might show up, but that clip with the Waymo, was like someone from America, driving first Time in Great Britain, solo, after a too long Visit to a Pub, or Bar!
Not so different than the "Cruise" vehicle, stopped, in front of a Construction Job, in the Intersection, that it could have easily gone around, but, it had no idea what to do!
While a Tesla, has already shown it can "Think" its way around avoiding a Large Truck coming into its Lane, by going "Wide" and slightly "Off The Road" for Safe Avoidance!
You are a relentless coach. We are mere mortals -a veteran family completely dependent and living 100% on disability - and we have increased our position by nearly 1/5 in the famous $TSLA fire sale of 2024. This gift from Elon who is trying to better humanity is a wealth elevator democratizing capital for the everyday investor. What the Teslabot world will soon demonstrate literally is the old golden rule that your capital can work harder than even the most productive human.
8 cameras, no pay outs . Insurance is profitable
So, is Uber profitable at this point? Genuine question. I know most delivery (EATS) platforms are a money wasting machine but I do not recall the state of ride hailing.
Yes. Uber is profitable.
I'm about 3X to 5X more likely to call a robotaxi than a human-driven one. Interacting with strangers, their choice of temperatures and music, their other habits, etc., puts me off, and I would do it only if absolutely necessary. So there's more to it than saving the labor costs.
I predict (1) Uber will become the first TESLA ROBO FLEET of robo taxis by purchasing a fleet of TESLAS or (2) TESLA will acquire UBER CORP and do it themselves.
Realistically, what portion of the current Tesla vehicles would be made available to robotaxi by their owners? 5-25%?
And that’s only in the North America market. Non in the EU och China at the moment.
It’ll start low and accelerate imho, once people hear how much money others are making from their, otherwise mostly stationary, cars, they’ll dive in!
@@dougm659agree, and all second hand tesla cars and end of lease vehicles will get snapped up and put to work as robo cabs.
@@NaughtyGoatFarm- If Tesla hasn't already taken them for that, themselves! 😲
@@dougm659 depends how many trustworthy passengers there are. You would be a fool to let just anyone ride in your car. It also depends on how many people are going to call a robotaxi at 11 AM, when your car is stationary.
Gordon Johnson price target is currently closer to the mark than SMRs…just sayin’. INSANE!
Whose "Mark?"
Fs- D 12
Optimus sitting in the car in a unused spot (could be the trunk) to clean and look after the car
Doesnt sound exceptionally unlikely!
