Lago delle Stellune, 2100m, Lagorai mountains, Italy

This was one of those eerie days turned yellow by Sahara sands blown in from the south. This year, a lot of our glaciers are covered in a yellow dusting because of this. Photos and videos look a bit strange. It's not an artsy look, it's the sand. The Lagorai mountains are just a stone's throw away from the popular dolomites, yet they are not very often visited and you usually have the paths all to yourself. This was a long bike and hike trail around the lake. Unless you can ride your bike to the Malga Cazzorga we do not recommend the walk. It would simply be too long. The bike ride is very technical and steep so be sure you are fine with rough off-road cycling.
